For those who are interested I've corresponded with Sifu LaRochelle from www.whitetigerkungfu.com Here is some info he gave me about the different systems he offers of GM Doo Wai; Living energy set is for learning to be an chi energy healer. It covers not only healing meditation, but how to in detail use your chi energy to heal others. Doo family healing meditations is a set of healing chi meditations and are very good. Nothing else is presented. San Gong Healing Meditations are excellent and produce good results. Easy to learn and powerful. Wind among the heavens is another series of healing meditations that kinds do what the others do - balance a practitioner's chi energy and make if much more positive so that it increasing health and healing. All of the above titles will increase a person's chi energy enough so that it can be projected outside the body and heal other people. Sifu LaRochelle also offers courses (not listed on the website) that include material not listed or available on the website. These courses include an External (Iron palm, iron body, etc...), Internal (Listed above plus others-mostly chi kung) and a High Level Chi Development/Psychic Course (Mind training exercises) He also offers services in preparing herbal teas/soups for clients from GM's recipes. When I asked him about the Doo Family Meditaitons as compared to the flying pheonix, he wrote that GM Doo Wai, on the Doo Family Healing title, says these 690AD meditations are better than the Flying Phoenix series as they are simpler to perform and give better results etc. The Flying Phoenix series is something that Daoist Monk Fung Do Duk created or passed down in 1644 which is quite a bit later than 690AD. note that he has been authorized by GM Doo Wai to distribute

Sillum, I wonder if you could share some stories about GM Doo Wai, would also be interesting to hear some of your experiences learning these arts and the changes in yourself and your life that have come about as a result of these arts.
-
Thanks Garry, thats more what I had in mind. sent you a PM awhile ago
-
Yes, but if you were going to spend 200-600$ on a box, wouldn't you want to know whats in it first?
-
Sillum, Are you able to give us an idea of how the flying phoenix and other meditations/chi kungs in GM Doo Wai's system, like the ones sold on LaRochelle's site, fit together? For example, what the difference in purpose and affect is between flying phoenix, Doo Family meditations, .... Otherwise we're kind of fumbling around in the dark over here.
-
Thank you Sillum and Garry for your responses. After having tried many different forms of chi kung in the past, I believe that GM Doo Wai's flying phoenix chi kung is very special and powerful. If the other meditations/chi kungs from GM Doo Wai are anwhere near as special and powerful, it is a shame that they are not more widespread and well-known, and that it seems so difficult to get personal instruction in them, affordably. It would be nice if these systems were made more available to the world before dying off and becoming extinct.
-
WBBM- how do the exercises on the dvd you are putting out differ in purpose and effect from flying phoenix? Trying to get a sense of how GM Doo Wai's different systems he taught relate to each other (the big picture). Also, sent you a PM.
-
Thanks for chiming in, Sillum. Can you speak to which of the various meditations/chi kungs of GM Doo Wai that are commercially available, flying phoenix and others (on Larochelle's, Rizzo's, and Lacy's site) would be considered the most powerful/highest level?
-
WBBM- Its not only about FP, there are other chi kungs/meditations originating from GM Doo Wai (some are said to be more powerful than FP). In addition, and no offense, but you don't seem impartial in this matter, as you and Sifu Terry have clearly been mutually endorsing each other (both here and on eachother's websites). As I said, it would be nice if an objective/impartial and informed individual could shed some light on these issues.
-
I am wondering about this DVD too. It would be nice if someone who was familiar with the entire system of GM Doo Wai (but who wasn't financially invested in one part/product or another) could let people know how they fit together and relate to each other, how effects differ, what is most powerful, etc... Perhaps Sillum could chime in?

Interesting thesis, Bloodywarrior. I don't mean to be overly bold but do you have any actual evidence to support these assertions of yours? I don't claim that, a priori, your argument is entirely without merit, but solely that it would behoove one to more closely investigate some of the tenets on which it rests. Nonetheless, there is a certain succinctness and, dare I say it, directness with which you communicate your points which are not entirely without a certain joie de vivre, if I may so. I look forward to further stimulating discourse on your part.

Michael, I know some energetic practices also recommend supplementation with quiet sitting/sitting meditation. Is it also recommended or necessary to supplement the Stillness Movement neigong? -

Michael, I read a post of yours (which I can no longer find) saying that of the practices you teach the tree qigong and walking chiqong are the most rapidly transformational, or something like that, would you mind repeating/reiterating? thanks- -

I attended the Stillness Movement seminar in Terra Haute last August where I met Indyjim, who has posted on this thread and is one of Michael's senior students. I believe others have inquired about Stillness Movement and depression and a case report follows. About two weeks ago I contacted Indyjim to request a distant healing for my brother. My brother has been having depression (is on medication for it) for a long time. I often feel when getting off the phone with him like I have stepped into a black cloud. He had just gotten a DUI and I could tell from speaking with him on the phone he was in a very dark place. So I called Indyjim and arranged a distant healing for him. I spoke with my brother the next day and asked him if he felt any difference and he said he felt more positive. I could sense the lightening in his voice. I spoke to him again today, two weeks later, and am very happy about what I heard. He expressed surprise that he has not gotten very depressed or had a tantrum as a result of the DUI, as 'normally' an event like this would have a very negative effect on him and cause him to spiral. He said he didn't know what the cause was (talking to friends who had also had DUIs, getting off a certain mood stabilizer) but he felt a lot more even keeled lately, where before he would usually feel a little happy or a little sad (more often), keeping in mind he's been on anti-depressants. Being on the phone with him today I felt so much more LIGHTNESS in him it made me feel really happy. He even said to me maybe its time for him to grow up and considering the stress he's under daily as he waits to hear what the consequences of the DUI are, I think he's doing great, as it would be stressful for anyone. He may have sounded/felt better than I can recall, EVER. As for myself, after practicing Stillness Movement, most days, for 70ish days now, I feel happier and Lighter and like my constitution has strengthened, and I look forward to the deepening of the results in the future, and hope to attend further seminars with Michael Lomax. Public thanks to Indyjim, I have also gotten distant healings from him in the past and definitely recommend him. -

He is a chi kung master and doctor (subject of the book Mysteries of the Life Force). He's located in Toronto area and apparently offers several-week intensives, curious as to whether anyone here's learned from him or been treated by him?

Coincidentally, I just received magnesium oil from here http://www.magneticclay.com/store/Departments/Ancient-Minerals-Magnesium-Oil.aspx on the advice of a nurse who said that taking magensium orally limits absorption but by applying the above linked oil topically there is much better absorption -
