Buddha was basically a vehicle of God because his ego "small self" died and he became identified as the infinite Self as All That Is. He transcended the ego and realized his true nature as Divinity itself, the same nature present within all of us.

I stopped it because I became interested in Yogani's stuff and wasn't sure I was ready for any quick transformations just yet. The practice didn't seem to have much support for the non-seminar practitioners, which wasn't very reassuring to me (not too mention all the crap people had to say about Kunlun and Max) since I would never be able to make it to a seminar. The practice was starting to seem weird too, same for my friend who tried it. My girlfriend also found it very strange and doesn't understand it. So in the end I dropped it and decided for a slower approach with the iam mantra which is feeling nice so far .

Hey fellow bums, I've been doing the IAM mantra from Yogani's website for the past 3 weeks or so, about 20-30 minutes a day, sometimes twice a day, some days not at all or just for a bit as I'm lying in bed before I go to sleep. The past few times after finishing my meditation I have had blurry vision where I have to really try hard to focus to read anything, whether it be my alarm clock or my computer screen. These times were while sitting upright in a chair. Does anyone have an idea why this is? Thanks! padge

Thanks Scotty, I'll be sure to look into it. Thanks for these suggestions Jedi. I notice that when I keep my concentration on where my eyes are focussed, I stay in concentration better with the mantra. If I let my attention float away from my eyes, I start daydreaming and lose the mantra very quickly. When I pay attention to my eyes and where they are focussed, I get to the point where I feel I am on the verge of exploding in to bliss and my heart races and I get aroused . This sounds like a good insight. I don't know if I feel like I'm disconnecting or not, when I'm concentrating on the mantra and I feel kind of like my body takes on more energy it feels different from waking life I guess. That's cool, although I seem to concentrate on my eyes like I mentioned above. So my attention might already be there? Thoughts? I'll have to check those videos out, thanks! So I meditated tonight for 40 minutes using the IAM mantra, and I got the most out of it when I would focus my attention with my eyes like they were looking inward towards my brain, or focused a short distance away from my eyes or on my eyelids, I can't really tell. So I had a pretty good feeling meditation and after 40 minutes I didn't want to stop but I figured I should so I don't overdo it (didn't look at clock). So I finished and everything was blurry again. I wasn't worried, went into the other room to talk to my girlfriend and she was showing me some mosquito bites on her leg and I tried to focus and see them and I couldn't make them out at all (they were small mind you). So I thought to myself, MY GLASSES! Just so you guys know I don't wear glasses and have probably only worn them 10 times since I got them about 8 years ago. I'm far-sighted and don't need them to see, they are just a minor prescription. So anyway, I went and put them on and what do you know, I could see . So my analysis was that in my meditation since I am focusing my eyes inward, it shifts the focus of my eyes and it just takes a while for them to readjust to my normal state of focus outside of meditation. Should I be focusing my eyes like this in the meditation? Does it put too much chi at my ajna chakra? Thanks very much for the replies you guys have shared already, I appreciate it . padge

Thanks. That's interesting about the tea, I'll see if I can find some. Am I really being polluted or are you just trying to sell me your product? Twice in one thread you've tried to sell me your training and again your FU. Ease up man. No I haven't, just plain ol' sitting meditation doing the IAM mantra. How is the walking practice done? How does it help? (I assume it's more grounding?)

Yep, it takes about 30 minutes or so to go back to normal. In fact maybe even longer than that, it's back to normal now at least. I rested for awhile so I didn't go back to the computer too soon, but after a little while I was able to use it again without really focusing my eyes to try and read the screen.

I'd say something like this, Taoism consists of philosophy, religion, and practice. The Tao is the mysterious force that guides all things, it is what came before heaven and earth, and from it comes all of creation through the mixing of yin and yang or the male and female energies. It cannot be understood by the mind, but it can be experienced and known intuitively. Everything emerges from the Tao, and eventually everything returns to it - we are the waves and it is the ocean. The philosophical side of Taoism is about understanding different ways in which we can live a more harmonious life, by flowing with life rather than against it. The Tao Te Ching emphasizes virtues such as humility, flexibility, softness, non competitiveness, limiting one's desires, and becoming like a child again -- which leads a person to living a content and happy life. The practical side of Taoism includes things such as Tai Chi, Chi Kung, and Taoist Yoga. These are ways of getting in touch with the life force energy, Chi, which is present in each and every thing. Taoists believe that sickness is caused by blocked chi in the body, and that the optimal condition is to have our chi flowing through our body unobstructed, and the aim of Chi Kung is to guide and circulate this Chi through the body so the overall functioning of one's system is strengthened and enhanced. Tai Chi is considered a soft martial art applied with the internal power of Chi, which applies the laws of yin and yang in its actions. Taoist Yoga is concerned with attaining spiritual immortality/enlightenment and longevity. I probably wouldn't go into the religious side of it, but I might mention the two common schools - Highest Clarity which was popular in the Tang dynasty who's emphasis was on personal cultivation and spiritual development, and the school of Complete Perfection which is a monastic school that synchronizes teachings of Daoist cultivation of the body, Buddhist meditation, and Confucist ethics, and practices Inner Alchemy to attain spiritual immortality. Although that would all have to be said over a tea or coffee . In short, Taoism is about finding harmony and balance in one's life, and cultivating the qualities that help a person attain this balance.

My religious studies professor that is heavily into Tibetan Buddhism told me that the Aum mantra connects your heart, throat and crown chakras. 'Aaaaaaa' is supposed to be your heart, 'uuuuuuu' is your throat, and 'mmmm' is your crown. If you make the sounds you can feel the vibrations in the corresponding areas of your body.

The book is only an option for me as well since I live in Canada. I don't have any experience with energy work though, which is one of the reasons why I am taking it pretty slow with Kunlun. Do you have and books you would recommend to help me understand the process a bit more? I know the main idea is to let go, but there needs to be a certain level of understanding of the process to keep the fear away. Any suggestions? Too bad we don't have access to the kunlunbliss forum.

I imagine you would have to have a fairly calm mind to be able to lucid dream effectively. I sometimes wonder if I would freak out or not if I ever became lucid in a dream. I'm interested in the responses... it's a very fascinating topic!

Hey guys, another newcomer to the board here. I'm coming here with an interest in Taoist Yoga, specifically the Microcosmic Orbit. I'm not studying under a teacher, but once I go back to school there is a Tai Chi and Qijong instructor in the city and I plan to attend some classes. I've started reading the book Awakening Healing Energy Through The Tao by Mantak Chia, and got some videos to accompany it, so I will begin my practice with that. Basically I've been interested in Buddhism/Taoism for awhile now, but haven't dug into it very much and haven't done much meditating. It was during a period of anxiety and panic attacks that I really got interested in spirituality and have sought out to learn more about it and the workings/controlling of the mind. I have the panic attacks under control now, I don't get them anymore, but it has left me with a bit of existential anxiety which I want to overcome and ground myself again. I'm on the path now I guess one could say .
