  2. Zhan Zhuang - Leg/Low back meridians - advice

And last question (maybe ) Ionizers used to make a mess around them with precipitates that the negions pulled from the air. Is that still a problem?
  3. Zhan Zhuang - Leg/Low back meridians - advice

There's no way to replace the emission heads so you don't have to replace the whole thing?
  4. Zhan Zhuang - Leg/Low back meridians - advice

Also, would you be comfortable starting a separate thread on negative ions, explaining it, not just to sell ionizers. I think this is a much neglected and incredibly important aspect of our health, our environment and our energetic practice. So potentially a great thread of its own. It's totally buried here.
  5. Zhan Zhuang - Leg/Low back meridians - advice

Hi Randomer (sorry, your actual screen name is hard to reproduce! ) Back when I was into this, some years ago alas, the seller of the ionizer I got was making a big deal about the size of the negative ions produced. Had to be a very pointy pin that made the ions, had to change the pin periodically. I think you said your ionizers work by coronal discharge. Is ion size an issue? Is there anything that has to be changed or maintained or replaced? Thank you!
  6. Time to Rotate

Well, that must have been the time I was there. And the time Jeff was there too. And a few other people as well... One of the newbies asking to feel chi... First time I'd ever been in chat. I remember you were there... You were worried you'd interrupted something. If you did, I couldn't tell... And I definitely missed the chaos... but maybe I left before you.... Different strokes!
  7. Hello to everyone

Hello Wladimir! Welcome to the Dao Bums! I hope you'll post even if your English isn't .. polished... . We'll figure it out!
  8. Hello everyone

Welcome Lao Sun Tao! Looking forward to hearing about your discoveries!

Welcome to the Bums, Bill! For energy centric tai chi, you might check out Scott Meredith's work... Looking forward to your postings...
  10. Yeah, for me it is a magnetic thing. Some practices just draw me in and then seem to nourish me. It's not a mental thing like joining a religion.
  11. Head turning to left

He likes energy stuff, so I think he will be open to it. I'll let you know if it helps!
  12. Head turning to left

Edward M, Thank you for this. I have a client with this condition (called cervical dystonia when it's really a problem), and will pass this on to him. There's a doc out in CA having excellent results treating this as a TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint) disfunction. Here's his youtube site: https://www.youtube.com/user/drdemerjian Lots of vids to check if yours is the same problem, and pretty clear explanation and demo of the treatment. Blew me away!
  13. Recently we had a long thread on techniques that might help a person feel chi. Here I'd like address a related but different topic. What do you feel inside when you say you are feeling chi? How do you sense energy? What senses do you use? I am not after more techniques, but looking for descriptions of what you notice inside that you call feeling or sensing chi. In the other thread I wrote: "For many years, I've been meeting with four other women in what we call a healing circle. We often talk about energy, chi, and do healing on each other, discussing what we're noticing. A year or two ago, I finally asked an obvious question that we had never discussed. "What does chi feel like to you?" Was THAT ever an eye opener! None of them described what I felt! Some got a visual sensation, some actually "see" the energy". One had some kind of astral (my word) outside-the-body knowing, and then there's my sense, usually a kind of hydraulic internal movement. All these seeming differences, yet we had been pretty much agreeing about our energetic experiences for years! That still cracks me up." Since then I've been asking other people, and one even said they see the shape of a human with bright lines on it and other markers of the energy. They even see this when sensing into their own energy! Apparently there are many ways to feel or sense chi, and of course, multiple ways to sense different kinds of chi or for different purposes, even within a single person. So...How is it for you? Please have a go at describing what you feel when you say you feel chi.

Aetherous, he did not say "those things." That was your paraphrasing of what you think he said. I heard it differently. Very interesting that a couple people allowed his posts to push their buttons, while others seem to have read his words differently and to be perfectly fine with their interpretation of what he said! Hope you can shake it off and have a nice day!

Aetherous, you wrote "If your practice is real, you can demonstrate that you have qi..." If we substitute the word "effective" for "real", yes, I think he said that. Re: "I can do that of course, so you should believe me when I say that all practices in the West are fake...but demonstrating would waste my qi, so I don't want to. But believe me." I don't think he said that at all. Could you let this be a new conversation, not connected to (many!) old conversations here, in which, yes, some did make those claims? I'm just not getting that here...

What I like about most about 小梦想's posting is that he seems to see the demos as mainly proof to yourself that you have accomplished a certain stage, and that he says continued demos are a waste of energy. Unless of course you need to demonstrate to another that you have accomplished that level. The demos serve best as a self check on your progress, not to lead you off on a tangent. I haven't heard it stated that way, and it seems to be obviously so. So, Thank you 小梦想. I have read your postings with much interest and appreciation, and look forward to more.

And that means you can get the real, demonstrable qi from books or the internet? .........I'm not actually saying that couldn't happen, but I'm pretty sure that 小梦想 would not agree. (Sorry, I can't seem to make that bold text go back to normal. So I bolded the whole thing )

Hi Atherous, You wrote in response to 小梦想 : "you claim that to "demonstrate qi" doesn't require training in schools that teach various methods, in other words, that it can be done by a person who practices from a book or the internet for instance. I could technically agree to that." Demonstrating qi doesn't require training in schools that teach various methods? Where did he say that? I thought he said many/most schools don't teach methods that produce real and verifiable results. And then what led you to conclude the bolded part?

  21. How do you feel/sense chi?

Edited: don't need to go there now. Thank you, Spacester!
  22. How do you feel/sense chi?

Hey Bindi, If you don't mind, could we stick to describing our own feelings of chi, not implying labels on others' responses? How do you feel chi? Thanks.
  23. How do you feel/sense chi?

Fair question, LDMB! Let's see if I can answer it sufficiently vaguely to be okay with my friends... and sufficiently concretely to be meaningful to you. Two of these women are professional healers, with long time very successful practices, one actually booked up solid for weeks. The other ran a healing training for many years in four or five cities, as well as maintaining a local practice. A third ran intuition training for a major corporation. When she travels, if she starts scanning someone, other people start getting in line! I don't think they would be booked up or paid well for what they do if nothing was happening! Of course none of that proves anything. But I can say by experience, all of the women run chi. On me. I have felt it. Their runnings each feel a little different. Having all four work on me at one time is a gas! One time I told one of the professional healers, running energy on me by herself, "If you could bottle that stuff, you'd be rich!" Usually I feel individual chi flows, sometimes I just feel happier and happier while they charge me up. It's so fun to talk about what they sense in whichever of us is on the table. They each sense chi in different ways, but they can usually agree on where something is happening and how to approach. Individually they would give different "diagnoses" of what's going on or even where. That seems to be contradictory, but there are many ways to start the chi moving and increase the whole body flow. Amp it up from here, pull it up to there, too much in that place, clear it out! We each have different favorite points and methods of "leveraging the chi". It's a really fun dance! And STILL this doesn't prove anything! Until you feel it. Unless you feel it. And even that may not be "proof"... but it's awfully convincing.
  24. How do you feel/sense chi?

Yes, I did! And man am I glad! This is GREAT!
  25. How do you feel/sense chi?

Yes, Brian, and I edited the OP a bit to be more clear. Thank you!
