What about a Faraday Cage to block unwanted energies. I am being facetious but there are other possibilities.

I doubt most are even able to understand even in small ways. So called energy can be extremely complex and ranging to chaotic/disorganized. E.g. I mentioned in a post a few minutes ago regarding the Penitente's not far from me here in New Mexico. Their live crucifixion rituals around Easter time which have been conducted since at least the late 1800's or longer have a negative effect both locally and a distance. I have felt that quite strongly and so it doesn't surprise me that persons on this forum are sensitive to what is happening in the chat room. Non local and no separation. Photo of a live crucifixion in the late 1800's which to this day produce negativity.

Negative entities will show up regardless of the situation given that such are drawn to suffering, pain, trauma and so forth. I feel negativity up around Abiquiu New Mexico when I drive though that town. The Los Hermanos Penitente's have made certain of that. TDB is a small speck in this realm and is no exception.

I am not in favor of coddling everyone here and I certainly don't want to be anyone's parent, but if some are willing to be open minded and pay attention to persons with experience in these matters, perhaps that is worthwhile. The bottom line for me is one of understanding that the 'life force', Ein Sof, or whatever name one denotes, is not to be trifled with. That is to say, play safe or become a crispy critter. I know since I have been there and am lucky to be alive and am able talk about it.

I just went back and read TI's OP on this and will read a little further. I have the impression that someone in the chat room is teaching yab/yum tantra? That can be tricky stuff if one has no clue except a New Age naive mentality. All manner of emotion, character armoring, suppressed sexuality, can appear and cause myriad problems both psychological and physical.

I am not privy to what has been happening in the chat room at this time. However, I refer back to my recent post of possible problems. Although, Taomeow was much more precise in stating potential problems.

As the old adage goes, "curiosity killed the cat" and most are naive as to the effects of such an exchange. Given that this problem has entered the public venue here, I think it is prudent to educate others as to the ramifications of. Although, some will venture into unknown territory without an inkling of knowledge.

It seems to me that humans are generally on uncharted ground in regards to this phenomenon?

In terms of energy work, there is a New Age idea that it is just energy which implies a soft fuzzy thing to play with. In my experience that is naive and possibly dangerous. When two or more persons share energy amongst themselves, an intentional link is created which links emotions, feelings, trauma, intentions, unconscious or hidden agendas. Further, elemental forces may be attracted to such an exchange.

My estimation is that most have no clue as to the power of these forces and are only asking for trouble. I will elaborate more later.

It seems to me his is stating more than just an opinion, but sees his worldview as fact. If he would state it as an opinion of a personal nature as opposed to making others wrong, that is fine. But, his responses are generally stated that anyone who disagrees with him is wrong. That in no way creates a friendly atmosphere of discussion.

I see your point. However, there are various degrees of a double bind in which I am making that point. His worldview is absolutely correct while anyone not adhering to his worldview is wrong. His worldview can cause others to be in emotional stress which is how I react to such a rigid dichotomy. There are many here that deal with family dynamics resulting from childhood. Addendum, I agree with your point in that you are presenting a brief statement of Gregory Bateson's research. I wanted to present an expanded view of his work based on my observations in which I think there are degrees of double bind communication. Korzybski presented a possible solution to dichotomous thinking.

Karl presents a so called true reality in which he believes is the absolute way of interacting with others and the world. However, any reality that does not agree with his is wrong. Double bind.
