Here it is. Notice the code words which are not overt. Cankles refers to Hillary and the rest is obvious. http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/38913-2016-us-election/page-98#entry706073
  2. Losing Members

Actually it wasn't Karl's post. Will post it here in a moment.
  3. Losing Members

Are you psychic in that you post the pretense that you know what I have read.

In order for me to stay, the so called rules must be enforced in an even manner. Why have any if not enforced? Karl's comments toward Hillary this morning would have resulted in an immediate suspension several years ago. However, he was given the chance to edit.

One may view it as some internal process/cultivation problem, but I seriously doubt that will solve generational, psychological or cultural problems. Psychological problems are rarely solved by energetic processes in that such work generally compounds the problem. I would refer to Ken Wilber's work as well as many others.

If you care to read the Hillary/Trump thread and the 2016 Election thread which is revealing as to the attitudes of certain members here. One recent post alludes to violence i.e, veiled.
  7. Farewell Viator

I understand why he left and I may follow suit. Although I am not privy to the exact nature of this particular situation, there are misogynist, objectivist, conspiracy posts and the occasional racist comments in the name of so called free speech, that are diametrically opposed to the real spirit of this site.
  8. The legacy of Ayn Rand

Karl, Ayn Rand and here naive disparaging remarks regarding Native Americans as savages is extremely insulting. I am part Cherokee and have no tolerance for bigotry. The US Constitution was modeled in part from the Iroquois Confederacy. A civilized people. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Law_of_Peace
  9. The legacy of Ayn Rand

The ultimate goal of Capitalism is for all the wealth to be concentrated in the hands of a few. That is what is happening here in the US.
  10. Time to Rotate

Given that this thread is very active it seems that these issues would be brought to more persons attention by posting here.
  11. Time to Rotate

I appreciate the discussions here. However, when a thread contains bigotry, misogyny and disparaging remarks towards ethnic groups, or women, the rules have been breached. I doubt some here realize the ramifications of inflammatory language and the ensuing problems of such expressions. I remember Susan Carlson (Shakti Mama) coming back here from a short hiatus a few years back to defend women's rights. Several persons were making disparaging remarks towards women around the issue of birth control and abortions. The rules were clearly breached by the use of misogynistic remarks and yet no one was banned or even suspended. If the rules are in place that clearly states that the use of certain language is not welcome here, then such rules must be enforced without bias. Other wise such rules are farcical, especially, if such are enforced in an arbitrary manner, if at all.

I don't have an appearance of any belief system. Perception appears as an abstraction and not an absolute. Have fun with your black/white mindset. No more for me since I have better things to do out in the mountains and desert.
  13. The legacy of Ayn Rand

I am not suggesting any appearance of an absolute belief system. Wilson wrote this entire book without the use of 'is' or 'isness' or Non-Aristotelian logic. https://www.amazon.com/Quantum-Psychology-Brain-Software-Programs-ebook/dp/1561840718/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1471893604&sr=1-1&keywords=robert+anton+wilson+quantum+psychology https://www.amazon.com/Selections-Science-Sanity-Second-Korzybski/dp/0982755910/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1471893673&sr=1-1&keywords=korzybski+science+and+sanity
  14. The legacy of Ayn Rand

You have stated that you are a purveyor of truth regarding your libertarian belief system. From your post, it appears that you have no interest evolving beyond a simplistic black/white world view.
  15. The legacy of Ayn Rand

Absolute truth has been an embedded meme since Aristotle and infects the minds of anyone not aware of its limitations and failing to understand the continuum of possibilities. Jettisoning a black/white view along with the absolute view of the 'isness' of the phenomenal world is a place to begin. I doubt you would listen to the wisdom of such.
  16. The legacy of Ayn Rand

    No.
  17. The legacy of Ayn Rand

Your narrative is dogmatic given that everyone else is usually wrong and you are the purveyor of absolute truth. If you can't see that, then..................
  18. The legacy of Ayn Rand

Robert Anton Wilson made a salient point which most everyone misses including Karl.
  19. The legacy of Ayn Rand

Dull? Hardly! Your narrative is not even close to reality.
  20. The legacy of Ayn Rand

My response stated elegantly by Robert Anton Wilson.
  21. The legacy of Ayn Rand

There were a few that volunteered. However, before the ink was even dry, there was not walking out unless one wants a stint in Ft. Leavenworth.
  22. The legacy of Ayn Rand

Volunteered and could walk at any time? That time was during Vietnam and once drafted and signed up there was no way out. I was in the military during Vietnam and believe me there was no way out except in a body bag or medical reason.
  23. The legacy of Ayn Rand

Much more complicated than that. Watch the movie I posted.
  24. The legacy of Ayn Rand

“We do not live in the sort of universe in which simple lineal control is possible. Life is not like that.”—Gregory Bateson, “Conscious Purpose versus Nature” (1968, 47)
  25. The legacy of Ayn Rand

The problem being, that any discussion with him is that everything that you state is wrong. The messages are always conflicting.
