American NBC Cameraman who is a Buddhist Tulku contracts Ebola
ralis replied to asunthatneversets's topic in The Rabbit Hole
A lot of people are being infected in Liberia and West Africa. Why is most of this story so fascinating in regard to whoever slept with whoever and a reincarnated Tulku having something to do with Ebola? The Dailymail is a tabloid that sensationalizes stories as opposed to professional journalism. -

Why are you sending love, blessings and light to everyone at the end of every post? As for myself, I am not interested.

To reiterate, one liners with no input to backup your narrative is trolling. I guess you have appointed yourself as the supreme dharma judge. Your narrative is a legalistic/fundamentalist letter of the law ideology which seeks to oppress free thinking.

I agree. I could use more muscle tone. Then the other 300,000 practices need completing. The Vajrasattva recitations are usually the 100 syllable mantra, but the three syllable mantra is a shortcut which I would use which does the same thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ngöndro

Many of the current Dzogchen teachers here in the West require that students complete the Ngondro preliminaries before the Dzogchen teachings are given. Those practices take years to complete and are incapable of leading one to realization.

Norbu has two Uncles that achieved the 'rainbow body'. One of them was just a regular person who was an artist/stone sculptor. No one knew he was a high practitioner until he asked to be sealed in a tent and in seven days he was gone. Only hair and nails remained.

Sounds as if you were preaching to her.

One can easily RV in an RV.
-
I traveled with my ex and our dog in an RV for two years. We survived by doing seasonal work, visited parts of this country where not many venture into and had the time of our lives. I will never forget those two years.

I think the only way to find the so called truth is to be outside the universe. I doubt anyone has accomplished that.

I did a ten day retreat in the 'Panamint Valley' which is just West of 'Death Valley'. I would recommend 4wd in most of those locations. During the winter months, rattle snakes are not usually a problem.
-
I see you live in California. If you want quiet and no city lights, head out to 'Death Valley'. There are areas that are extremely remote where no one goes.

There are many methodologies for interpreting dreams. Jungian and Freudian are two popular ones. However, to find your own meaning/interpretation is priceless.

I suppose then there will be subforums for each category. When will it end?

I would consider dark retreats a form of sensory deprivation.

I love flotation tanks! After an hour I lost all sense of time and body awareness. The movie 'Altered States' I believe was based on John Lily's work who pioneered sensory deprivation tanks. I believe he used LSD as an enhancement to the experience. Don't try that combination at home. http://www.amazon.com/Tanks-Memories-Floatation-Consciousness-Classics/dp/0895560712/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1411595548&sr=1-1&keywords=tanks+for+the+memories

The NY Post is a tabloid and will sensationalize to sell papers. Do you believe everything you read? The Post is owned by Rupert Murdock.
-
The most obvious answer? That statement is not provable in the least. Furthermore, I said "he may have made that comment" which is conjecture on my part. Not a definitive statement. Norbu has been living in a predominately Catholic country since professor Tuchi invited him to teach at the University of Naples. Why do you make an irrelevant statement such as;
-
What does this have to do with the discussion at hand?
-
What you have summed here is exactly what the Malcom shills have done to the Buddhist discussions here for years. Very well stated!
-
I think this sums up the problem of religion which applies to all religious belief systems. The operative phrase being "is the only". The quote is from CT. The religious meme infects the human brain. http://thetaobums.com/topic/36314-arousal-vs-relaxation-study-how-did-rigpa-fare/page-2#entry580388

Why not keep the emotional outbursts and anger to yourself (that includes other Buddhists posting here) as opposed to spewing it all over this forum. Vajrayana is internal work not a projection to others.

I have been on a number of retreats with Norbu beginning in 1989. He may have made that comment given that his wife is Catholic.
