Is there an objective reality or not in Dzogchen theory?
ralis replied to Wells's topic in Buddhist Discussion
It appears that you did not listen to Robert Anton Wilson in which he discusses the differences in cultures/languages in which translations can lead to misunderstandings. Languages are based on the evolution of any given culture and may not translate well, cross culturally. Why not expound on your statement? BTW, I read Kant et alii at the university. Material reality existed long before humans or Buddhists. -

You do not need to practice any Psychic Ability externally, and: Why are we scared to fully transform in meditation?

Your overuse of the pronoun 'we' is a projection of your own onto others here. Why not speak from your own experience and stop assuming others share your fears. I certainly don't. -
Are the Thrusting Vessels / Pingala+Ida actually physically spiraled in the body?
ralis replied to 4bsolute's topic in General Discussion
I sincerely doubt there is any sort of plumbing. Spiral or not. -

In the language of mathematics, in which I have 45 credit hours which includes 700 level utility theory/Bayesian theory, there are no absolutes only probabilities. Language has built limitations which affects the thinking mind. -

You incessantly use 'is' in your posts. Use some gray in your posts as opposed to the form, yes/no, is/is not and so forth. -

I stated the universe has been around for over 14 billion years. That does not denote an absolute, but an approximation. Stop revising what I write. "A misnomer"? "Merely a byproduct of afflictive reification and ignorance"? You expect a reasonable person to believe such rhetorical nonsense? -

You fail to understand what you write. To include the verb 'is' denotes an absolute statement. If you stick your hand through a piece of basalt or granite and leave prints or holes, then we can have a discussion. -
You only say they are, but cite no sources to back up your claim.
-
The above are only accusations with no proof whatsoever. You cite nothing to back up your claims!

You are stating an absolute/isness from a human point of view. The universe has been around for over 14 billion years. Long before we were around. -

The rhetorical question was to TI, not you.

Rhetorical question.

How would you know if they are obstacles unless you were told such by the guru?

I said contrary not limited. Sir, I don't appreciate your inaccurate portrayal of fanatical Buddhists. I've reported you to the mods. You are positing that Buddhists are fanatical?

Fanatical is defined as 'zeal', 'excessive enthusiasm' and so forth. That is what I see. Otherwise, these threads would go nowhere without the enthusiasm of Buddhists.Your statements portrays Buddhists as fanatical also.

I like the way you characterized that. The system purveyors must use propaganda to keep the students entranced and create levels of attainment that can never be achieved in untold eons. Throw in karma/sin and a few guilt trips don't hurt either.

You quoted my post with a revision of your own. Not very nice or ethical. I caught your revisionism of my post for all to see. I said contrary not limited.

I would extend your statement in regards to capacity which is not of the individual, but of non objectified mind.

A small inner circle of Norbu's have been hanging around him for decades and none of them have attained much as far as I have been told. I think taking what he has taught and leaving society to practice is appropriate. There was a group of Gangten Tulku's students that entered permanent retreat in the mountains of Crestone Colorado for the sole purpose of achieving the 'rainbow body' but nothing has been reported of substance. If some one from this group accomplished this, that news would rapidly spread.

You said it and continually reinforce your absolute truth, closed system ideology.

The problem is that the bliss is so potent, there is little desire to do much, if anything. That was my experience with Norbu when I caught his glance during the 'Song of The Vajra' and also during sky gazing. It seems to me that the energy of existence begins to move as opposed to the so called normal state one finds oneself. Some of you may challenge that, but I don't give a damn if you do.
