This thread is in regards to Buddhism as the OP has so aptly stated.
-
What are my double standards?
-
Please stop with the patronizing/condescending attitude. I am in no way interested in religious counseling.
-
Of course there is suffering in life. No reasonable person would deny that. However, I think there is far too much emphasis on suffering in the Buddhist ideology.
-
Now the rules are divine? How convenient to defer to other realms where questioning is not permitted.
-
Until such time that ones who engage in Buddhist discourse stop making absolute untenable evasive statements, then I will stop. What I see are poorly thought out methods for transmitting and teaching among Buddhists. If you can't handle serious questioning of your particular thought processes, then stop posting on this thread. I am convinced that Buddhists in general can't handle criticism. Some of their reactions here confirm this.
-
To answer a question with a question will not work with me.
-
Maybe that will be a reminder to be clearer in this discourse. Stop generalizing.
-
How else can that statement be interpreted?
-
Where is the suffering? By using the absolute term 'is' you have stated an absolute.
-
I guess if you don't exist, then philosophy does not exist either. Evasive Buddhist logic.
-
You have no philosophical position? That is an untenable position and a cop out. Just by stating that all life is suffering is a philosophical position. This is the kind of twisted logic that I resent.
-
Other religions believe that everything is an illusion. To use so called Buddhist logic to affirm Buddhist ideology is rhetorical nonsense.
-
I am stating that Buddhist ideology is a fundamental problem. I have every right to point that out.
-
You start a thread and derail it with Buddhist ideology.
-
The reason is the incessant preaching and condemnation of others. Namely that others are ignorant/immature to even allow the special secret teachings to be corrupted on low-lifes. I resent that arrogant fundamentalist attitude.
-
Why are you Buddhists so intent on proselytizing? Guilty conscience perhaps?
-
What amazes me is how Buddhists judge others as wanting and ignorant.
-
You quoted from a teacher http://thetaobums.com/topic/32820-debunking-a-creator/page-11#entry502235 as if that is what you believe.
-
I am not narrow minded. I am challenging dogma and asking questions.
-
The OP is not in regards to Buddhism.
-
From what I have seen from your posts, you add nothing but propaganda while disrespecting others here.
-
Your reasoning is flawed and proceeds from incorrect conclusions.
-
You have stated the problem with religion in general and Buddhism in particular. To say that certain ideology is only for the mature is arrogance. That attitude further divides and serves no one.
-
Exactly what does that prove? Just more absolutist thinking.
