  1. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

I have spent some time in the Sierras where he worked. I must say that he captured some of the essence of those mountains. The light reflected from the granite is like nothing I experience anywhere else. A tranformative experience.
  2. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

Are we venturing into deconstructionism/postmodernism? Are those movements any less spiritual than the great periods of classical art? Although classical was just another expression for the time.
  3. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

Juliete Prowse was an amazing dancer. I fell in love with her when I was around 8 years old. I believe it was while watching an Elvis movie.
  4. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

Would you translate that from internet slang to English?
  5. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

Why ruin great masterpieces? Do these images have some meaning to you?
  6. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

Who is the artist? Is some of this photoshopped?
  7. NSA Spying Lawsuit Advances Despite Long Odds, National Security Concerns. Electronic Frontier Foundation brings suit to NSA spying. Since when does a 'national security letter' from the FISA court become a warrant? Absolutely violates the 4th. amendment. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/12/nsa-spying-lawsuit_n_3574997.html
  8. He rarely if ever cites references as to his purported evidence. Just cut/paste from questionable sources and his above quote from the Journal 'Nature' has no link so that one can read the quote in the context of the article. Which any intelligent person would find suspicious. I guess Joe believes that persons reading his story are not very bright. "The dramatic warming predicted after 2008 has yet to arrive" -Nature
  9. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

Do you have an image to post and perhaps a comment as opposed to starting a rant that is more appropriate for another thread?
  10. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

That particular museum is on my list. The National Gallery of Art at the Smithsonian is absolutely mind blowing!
  11. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

That is left up to your imagination.
  12. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

You beat me to it. I was going to post this last night. One of my favorites.
  13. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

'Tales of Brave Ulysses' has references to Persephone, Hades and of course Aphrodite
  14. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

Here is the song. I don't know about others here but I read 'The Odyssey' when I was in grade school. Honestly, the painting represents more of a visual feeling with images being evoked in my mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekeIIyj8_2A
  15. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

Please state your response more clearly in the future. Thanks
  16. Art As A Spiritual Quest.

I didn't ask for a lecture as to what is wrong with my OP. If you care to come down from your lofty ideal and relate to the real world, fine! To say that your work is more spiritual than the painting I posted is just an elitist point of view.
  17. I was told that Coca Cola is a fine remedy for dissolving kidney stones. Just chug 1 liter and all is well.
  18. Not at liberty to speak about it? Is that more conspiracy BS?
  19. Stop the trolling and baseless accusations! Exactly where did I state that I hate the USA?
  20. I guess you don't understand the Constitution! How about the 4th amendment? "are you a syrian, egyptian, or libyan?" I am neither. Nation of laws? That is becoming a farce.
  21. Is the NSA, Homeland Security and other illegal institutions a modern version of the panopticon? After all, the elitists can't possibly imprison everyone. Or can they? "Morals reformed—health preserved—industry invigorated—instruction diffused—public burthens lightened—Economy seated, as it were, upon a rock—the gordian knot of the poor-law not cut, but untied—all by a simple idea in Architecture! — Jeremy Bentham" The designer of the infamous panopticon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panopticon http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/12/opinion/the-price-of-the-panopticon.html?_r=0
