Another point of division which is unnecessary. There are no lower or higher except how the mind constructs in a divisive manner. How can anything be independent?

You just made my point. Terminologies are only constructs. Further, I wasn't attempting to explain using one term for another. You missed my point with preconceived notions.

What I see Jax doing here is expanding and bridging the gap that is sorely needed!

What I just stated and what I believe Jax is saying is that all these practices are not mutually exclusive. The three Kayas are not mutually exclusive. Vipassana is not mutually exclusive from tantric practices and so on. A fragmented view makes everything in the cosmos mutually exclusive. Most here are just parsing words i.e, legalism.

Expanding on what I said about the need to create levels and divisions via language and concepts. Some will argue that their practice of tantra is higher than vipassana or whatever. That always bothered me.

I was giving support to K and you butt in and make a big deal out of it! Your insistent use of terms; dataset, data points or whatever, is not convincing. Your narrative is not based on verified research and never will be. Politicizing the debate on AGW, is not a credible argument. Consistently attacking Dr. Hansen lends no credibility to the debate. Appealing to bloggers lends no credibility to the debate. Posting unverified graphs lends no credibility to the debate. Appealing to a great scientist as Feynman is supposed to lend credibility? You seem to have some deep need to be absolutely right and while making everyone else absolutely wrong. I am not interested in playing into that scenario. The cosmos is far too complex and to create anthropocentric views which are small and rigid misses the point. All of the forecasts in the AGW model are of a probability of <1. Your quest is to make your prediction absolutely = 1. That is the problem. The domain of science has no use for prophets. Honestly, it is a waste of my time!

My point is that semantics are not an accurate map of one's experience. Semantics are reductionist in context and the English language in particular is based on Aristotelian logic. That is to say a language of absolute opposites. Yes/no, black/white and so forth. Further, when using this reductionist logic, there are only two possibilities in which two persons debating can take sides. Given the complex nature of the cosmos, anyone with an anthropocentric worldview view is reducing phenomena to only two possibilities. Wars, poverty, wealth, political parties and religions are defined by absolute opposites. With few exceptions. Will write more later.

Most of what I see in debates are intellectual musings seeking to justify a position. Right/wrong etc. Nothing more than maps that have very little correspondence to direct experience. The primordial awareness is non verbal.

I am not making claims but I have years in this work dating back to the mid 80's and starting practicing yoga when I was 15 in 1965. My question is what is your practice?

Read what you wrote. My question is your experience with practice.

I will ask you the same question as simple_jack. Are you critiquing Jax out of experience with your practice or just having an academic rant?

His book is coming out in a couple of weeks. Amazon Kindle I believe.

To cut to the chase, how much have you practiced to realize what you have written as opposed to repeating from texts?

Some friends of mine put up a little greenhouse with pvc pipe and white plastic. They grew greens all winter. On bitter cold days it was warm.

I said 'can' which does not mean an absolute. Doesn't mean it will happen but has the potential. Nice cut and paste from a right wing blog which gives no sources for the data in the above graphs. I get the impression you believe anyone who reads your stuff is naive. Posting unsupported, unverifiable data that is not peer reviewed is outside the domain of good research.

I wasn't referring to the heart organ but another center which you mentioned in an earlier post. Norbu pointed that out in a retreat to keep the focus there. I wasn't referring to that as a totality. Honestly, I can't explain explain what my experience was. No separate being is the only way I can explain it.

Would it be correct to say that it is the heart center where all this takes place? As if our way of seeing is upside down? My reason for saying that is from what I experienced in sky gazing. It is as if I stopped seeing with my eyes.

I was talking in the context of the problem of feeling powerless to make a difference. MLK or Gandhi didn't have a separate view.

You live in Canada and yet have not made comments in the other thread. -
If you see yourself as a separate being then that view is a problem. Even in cultivation practice. However, there are a few in the past that have changed the world. Read about Edward Lorentz and the 'butterfly effect'. Tiny changes in complex systems can have a massive effect globally. Stop listening to the ones that see themselves as selfish separate beings. They don't have the best interest of our biosphere in mind.

Jax, Do you have a link for your book yet? Amazon? Advance copies available?

I think worrying and or discussing the 'rainbow body' at this point in time is a distraction for most. Practice i.e, awareness is primary. To allow the verbal 'demon' to dominate furthers nothing. The verbal is just an inaccurate map that has very little correspondence to what is being discussed here. That is the main reason Dzogchen is pointed out symbolically as well as by other means. Ultimately, the verbal just doesn't cut it. Given Jax's comments, it has been reaffirmed by myself that Norbu did successfully point out to me in my first retreat with him in 1989 at Synergia Ranch, the state of rigpa. What helped was my years of Vipassana that left me open to the transmission which allowed me to relax my mind so as to receive. Personal retreats are of great benefit and I would highly recommend doing it. Especially, out in the middle of nowhere. I know a few places that I can recommend if anyone is interested.

That summed it nicely for me! Especially, the aspect that all so called levels are necessary as opposed to being told that one must leave a level in order to advance to the next and never retreat. There are many teachers that create these divisions and that is where I have been trapped for years. My view has changed. Hope that makes sense. Thanks Jax
