Why do you feel the need to be rude? You don't have to be on this thread! Troll!

This is why I made the statement about clear cutting the tar sands forest. This might be the worst environmental disaster in North America. Although Leadville Co. is horrific.

Why not say so in the first place. I don't read minds very well. Link for the apology?

It would be nice to have a civil conversation with Jax. Posting hearsay and appealing to an unknown authority does not in anyway validate the above.

My statement was an honest one in that I see a lot of use of Quantum Mechanics or just quantum to somehow define spiritually. Has anyone here opened a Quantum Mechanics text? Extremely technical and dense. Mostly equations.

It seems to me that experiencing light requires an observer.

Dzogchen teachings refer to energy and light as a self organizing space of being?

Good point. I am always concerned as to how the semantics of Dzogchen are framed. In one of Jax's posts he clearly stated there is no free will, no free choice etc. That deterministic philosophical argument has been debated by philosophers for generations with no clear cut answers. If the cosmos is nothing but a cause and effect mechanism, that implies a 'prime mover' (Aristotle, Newton). Dzogchen denies a prime mover, God, transcendent deity or whatever. In thinking about your question as to who, there are no clear cut answers. If quantum mechanics is to be used as an argument for a basis of Dzogchen, then the observer effect must be included in the argument. The observer effect implies a causal link between the observer and the observed. Honestly, I take pause when quantum mechanics is used as a basis for spiritual discourse.

I have seen a reference to the 'mud ball palace'. Same as the third eye?

JB, "Was your assertion in the OP that the destruction of a single old growth forest (let's just extrapolate wildly and say they're going to chop down the entire thing,) is going to significantly and irrevocably contribute to global warming?" If you read the link and the photos in the OP, you will see massive clear cutting. I did not say that would contribute to AGW but the tar sands oil will. I doubt you have ever seen clear cut forest like I have.

That is the one. Is that where you go?

There is usually a retreat in Crestone Co. in early fall. I hope to be there this year.

I believe there are many groups protesting this. I just can't believe the Canadian's are not saying anything. Unless of course the media is not reporting it. I have been in forests of that nature and the experience is awesome.

I appreciate what you are saying. It helps me to challenge how certain teachings are presented. Yes. I have had experience with this when I was very young and while sky gazing.

Thanks for posting that.

JB, This is a preposterous statement and you know it! What you claim is that you have some vast understanding of the suns dynamics and climate scientists don't? You have claimed this in your emails to Dr. Hansen. You have absolutely no research to even validate such a claim except hearsay. In dynamic systems such as the biosphere, the suns energy is taken into account.

My OP was from the standpoint of ecology and systems which completely escapes the denier junk science crowd. I was expressing grave concern about the destruction of old growth arboreal forest. A species habitat that will never be replaced. Hardly one sided.

Your use of the verb 'is' denotes an absolute state. The use of the verb 'is' arises from Aristotelian logic which denotes a black/white, yes/no dichotomy. This logic leaves out any other possibilities.

My brain wiring is extremely visual feeling. In other words I visually and kinesthetically feel space and objects with no sense of being separate. For me the ideas around the incessant need for teachers to use the term 'emptiness' makes no sense. Another semantic explanation needs to be presented to the public. I also feel words and the effect it has on my perception of. This may not make sense to some reading this.
