So far you have not shown me your statistical analysis or your so called model. You can spout all you want about what you perceive as a "coefficient grant writing activism" scam but throwing around terms to somehow impress others to convince your audience that you are qualified to posit absolute statements opposed to AGW is deceptive at best. There is a vast difference in statistical analysis of forecasting as opposed to prophetic utterances. The latter is the category where the debunkers of AGW live. The science of AGW is only dealing with probabilities <1 and the reasons the model changes is due to the fact that new data is always coming in. The math of non linear dynamics i.e, complexity, defines the biosphere. Where the system is sensitive to initial changes i.e, dynamic. It only takes a small amount of CO2 greenhouse gas to cause a large change in the biosphere. Your arguments about third order processes and coefficients fail to create a valid argument. You make the accusation that academics are colluding with the government in a grant writing scam and therefore the work on AGW is an elaborate ruse? A little paranoid aren't you?

Strident System Sellers and Delicious Irony

A number of years ago, Gangteng Tulku gave a month long retreat in Crestone Colorado. The cost was 3,000.00 which included camping outside (May is very cold) and 3 meals/day. I inquired as to why the high cost and I was told that Gangteng Tulku needed a stage complete with throne and all accouterments. The whole setup was outside in very cold weather. Plus the sponsors wanted to give him a big check! Obviously I didn't attend given the cost and leaving my business unattended for 1 month. That is one reason among many that I have stopped my association with the Tibetan Buddhist community. One other thought is the Tsegyalgar community started by Namkhai Norbu. Back in the early 90's when a number of teaching groups were established, he sent out a letter that the group community structure was too large and needed to be dissolved. That never happened. Today there are centers worldwide and yearly membership fees are 150.00. If I want to order a text or DVD's etc. from the center in Massachusetts, I have to pay the 150.00 membership fee. That is not right! -
This discussion is entirely appropriate for a Taoist forum. Taoism is about the natural world and how we care for it. Remember, separate being does not exist in this biosphere or anywhere in the cosmos.

One more thought. I see you paid attention and asked a question.
-
I know nothing is. I am finished discussing this topic with you. It is pointless.
-
Fine. However, all you have contributed are nothing but emotional responses with no data. Just because you present a link assuming that others know nothing here proves nothing. There is a difference in statistics between probabilities and absolute prophetic utterances. You fall in the latter group. FYI, I have 50 hrs. of math including Bayesian analysis (800 level). I am not fooled by your responses that are absolute in nature.

I doubt that you have much of a background in science. One who is interested in real investigation has no personal bias and asks questions as opposed to insistent put downs of others. If you believe it is BS, then leave this forum. FYI, I have friends who are world class scientists; Los Alamos National Labs, Sandia Labs and The Santa Fe Institute. Having discussions with them is much more interesting as opposed to listening to constant neg. bantering. The best quality I find with real scientists is a passionate curiosity and the ability to engage others with questions, without subjecting others to discriminatory bias.

I am not dissing the real ones at all. I agree there are few which is a tragedy.

I have seen that manipulation many times.

Can there be such a thing as a Nazi Dao?

Marblehead gave me your personal email address. It was sent to that. -

Glad to see you back. Did you receive my PM yesterday? -
I didn't accuse Clyman of fraud. Reread my posts. Stop twisting what I wrote.
-
I give respect to no one that doesn't earn it. Respect is earned and not given! What an inflated view of Clyman!
-
Don't lecture me on business. If it is precious to you for now that is your opinion.
-
What is your problem? How in the hell do you know I am close minded? Is it due to the fact that I have stated an opinion on pricey Qigong teachings? That makes me close minded? I am no fool and you seem to have an inflated view of Clyman. I have no foolish views or pay inflated reverence to anyone. Especially egotistical teachers who display themselves on youtube. It is your right to see Clyman as a guru god or whatever you choose. I don't care. I do care about spiritual fraud in the marketplace and overpriced stuff in the name of a so called higher and better teaching!
-
I would appreciate a little respect for what I stated. I happen to be a successful businessman and to tell me to get a job is insane! I happen to employ persons! Get a life!
-
I don't think discussing anything with you works. I believe that if something is beneficial then any one person should not be gouged financially.
-
I guess you don't understand? Persons taken advantage of with expensive workshops given by frauds. For example there was the workshop to teach how to be immortal by two immortals from Mt. Shasta ;Princess Sharula and Shield Dux. Princess Sharula was exposed as being a stripper in a night club somewhere in the midwest and not from Mt. Shasta. Not exactly immortals. Clyman may be nothing more than a showman wanting peoples money. I am not saying all are frauds but there are exceptions.
-
I don't appreciate your accusations towards me. Exactly what proof do you have that I am rigid and close minded? You don't even know me. Just because someone chooses a given profession, does not give them the right to financially gouge people. I have seen too many people taken advantage of by fraudulent teachers.
-
Expensive DVD's and pricey workshops are nothing more than profiteers at work. In the Western world many believe that if the price is outrageously high, then it must be the best. I happen to live in a town that has thrived on that BS for decades.

I was just remembering the life of this great man and how he stood up to prejudice, racism and oppression.

Give a consistent explanation rather than your usual chaotic rambling.

If anyone has seen the Kunlun video of Max Christensen, that is a great example of compliant weak minded fools rolling around as if being controlled by Max's empty force. Max admitted that it only worked on his students.

If one's world view is small and anthropocentric then that is what one will receive. Nothing more, nothing less.
