@ Owledge Since you are trying to school us here in the U.S. why not take a look at your country. Here are a few examples. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8347040.stm http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/xenophobia-still-prevalent-in-germany-20-years-after-neo-nazi-attacks-a-851972.html Is not discrimination and racism outlawed in your country? I don't need to remind you about Germany's past. -

When the Constitution was framed, slavery was still legal and women could not vote. Only white property owners could vote. Schools were segregated according to race in the South until the Civil Rights Act was passed. Blacks in the South were segregated from public buses drinking fountains and other public services. Given the problems with human nature the US. passed amendments and laws to protect minorities. What Ron Paul is harping about in the following video is about property rights that originally allowed one to vote. Only property owners were allowed to vote until that was changed. He is discriminating against ones that do not own property. Google searches will give you much more info -

@ Owledge, You know very little about Ron Paul. He has stated publicly that he is against the 'Voting Rights Act', the 'Civil Rights Act' and other laws that he claims are unconstitutional. His claim is that the Constitution is not a dynamic document that changes with the times but is as was written by the framers. Therefor, according to his world view, we would still have segregated schools, racism and rampant discrimination among other things. The delusional right wing propaganda that whatever is not enumerated in the Constitution is unconstitutional is nothing more than an attempt to institute a society based on authoritarianism and social Darwinism. -

Your post is absolute BS and you know it. Read my earlier post from the CBO. Stop posting BS from the Heritage Foundation which is a fascist right wing organization! BTW, why not stick with one point. -
I wasn't intending to start a discussion of Quantum Mechanics but to prove a point about semantics. The point being is that verbal representations are not the objects in question but a collective agreement so that cooperation among persons in a culture and by extension other cultures can take place. E.g. a box is only named such so that someone else knows what I am referring to. There is no absolute object in the universe called a box. The box is a collection of smaller parts.
-
This explains it all.
-
Terms are fabrications of the human mind and are not inherent in the universe. Language has evolved over time as a method of communication. A tribal contract. The evolution of myriad languages and not one absolute. One word in a language can have an entirely different meaning in another language.
-
Human primates are obsessed with the 'isness' of objects that have no inherent identity except what human primates designate as such. Elaborate attempts to describe the Tao even in terms if Yin/Yang are futile. I would suggest reading Korzybski's work to have a better understanding. http://www.amazon.com/Science-Sanity-Introduction-Non-Aristotelian-Semantics/dp/0937298018/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1357241847&sr=8-6&keywords=korzybski
-
I am certainly not caught up in contradictions. See my next post.
-
Semantic arguments are not absolutes in that semantics are agreed upon definitions of the so called objective world of objects. Therefor, the objective world can in no way be categorized or quantified to satisfy the incessant need of human primates to control what is not understood.
-
The Tao is not outside of everything. That makes no sense.

The data are from the CBO. Check it for yourself as opposed to stating pointless opinions! FYI, the WSJ is owned by the right wing hack Rupert Murdock. -

This article in the WSJ exposes the lies from the right wing in regards to Obama's so called spending spree. His spending is the lowest since Reagan, at 1.4% growth. The data contained in this article are from the Congressional Budget Office. The CBO is non partisan and anyone can see the facts for what they are. http://www.marketwat...ened-2012-05-22 -

I had a few conversations with Jason Miller and have yet to purchase his book. Seems as if it is more based on ritual. Anyone purchased this book yet?

This is an important thread and as always you disrupt with your teenage remarks! If you have something intelligent to say in regards to the OP then state it. Otherwise, go to another site!

Frank Luntz the Republican pollster and operative who I rarely agree with, makes a number of valid points on gun rights in the second half of this interview. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/12/26/gop-strategist-i-dont-think-the-nra-is-listening-to-americans/ Republican strategist and CBS political analyst Frank Luntz said on CBS on Wednesday that both major political parties in the U.S. suffer from a disconnect with Americans, and that the NRA isnât listening to the publicâs views on gun policy. Citing a survey he conducted with the Republican Mainstream Partnership, Luntz claimed that people donât view the GOP as a party of the people. âWhen we asked the American people, âWho is the GOP fighting for and representing?â the number one answer, the rich, the number two, big business. Well well back is number three, hardworking taxpayers.â By fighting against tax increases for the rich, he said, the GOP plays into that perception. Yet he also said that âDemocrats donât understand the hostility towards how much Washington spends.â âWhat they really want is to end the spending, even more than raising the taxes,â he said of Americans, which he claims is not part of the âDemocratic package.ââ Moving on to gun control, Luntz, who has done polling for the group Mayors Against Illegal Guns, claims the public âdoesnât look at it as a Republican or Democratic issue,â and that âmore people, more families, based on what Iâve heard, have spent time talking about their fear of gun violence than they have over the fiscal cliff.â âThe public wants guns out of the schools, not in the schools, and theyâre not asking for a security official or someone else. I donât think the NRA is listening,â Luntz said. He went on to argue that Americans support the Second Amendment but also believe ânot every human being should own a gun, not every gun should be available at any time, anywhere, for anyoneâ and that people should not be able to purchase guns at gun shows âright there and then without any kind of check whatsoever.â Watch the video, via CBS, below. http://landing.newsi...ry&VID=24072011 -

Columbine High School had armed guards and the guards were overwhelmed by the attackers. How far does it need to go? More is never enough. Do we give up freedom for a heavily armed police state? So far all arguments posted here are based purely on emotion and not rational thinking. -

What you believe is not based on substantive evidence but fear and paranoia. -

The conspiracy stuff posted here is completely absurd! Just more insanity by 'socialized primates' who have nothing better to do with their time. Some of you actually believe this stuff? I see a lot of fear and paranoia on this site from people who should know better! Is this what cultivation and spiritual practice leads to? -

In your world view the collective should suffer for the selfish motives of a few? -
Socialized primates i.e, humans, have yet to fully work with and cooperate with nature.

I only asked because I have many mantras of the tantric variety that are more than six syllables.
