  1. Pure sources of Kabbalah

In what way is Kaplan's translation not recommended?
  2. Pure sources of Kabbalah

I have Kaplan's translation. Other recommendations?
  3. Pure sources of Kabbalah

I will post some links and info. when I return home. Aryeh Kaplan, Daniel Matt are two very excellent writers on the subject. Also the Kabbalist Abraham Abulafia is well worth a Google search. I would recommend avoiding the above links. Rav Berg sells red strings and expensive water that has been blessed by him. Google it.
  4. I agree that being open minded can have value. I have seen objects in the sky above Los Alamos National Labs which fit the category of UFO's. However, I am not of the mind to create dramatic conclusions as to what I believe the objects in question are.
  5. Part of this thread is similar to the 'Immortal For Life' rants. Replacing science with speculation and mythology which are not based on factual evidence, may be entertaining to some, yet leads to nowhere.
  6. Ubuntu

There is a problem with drivers on any open source Linux. I know some that have written driver software which led to many problems. I finally broke down and upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 which is a much better OS.
  7. Is this Mo Pai Level 1 ?

The problem is that most of what is taught is nothing more than culture baggage and belief systems that are not relevant to the actual practice. I went through this problem back in the 80's with the Tibetan Lama's.
  8. Is this Mo Pai Level 1 ?

Glenn Mullin's books go into detail as to the procedure. Also Chang's work on the 6 yoga's is helpful.
  9. Is this Mo Pai Level 1 ?

Would you check the spelling and title of the trilogy. Nothing exists by that name.
  10. Here is one solution that was offered to all whining Romney supporters. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/11/08/fox-station-tells-romney-supporters-how-to-beat-the-traffic-to-canada/ The Fox station in Oklahoma on Wednesday gave supporters of former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney some helpful tips for fleeing the country before President Barack Obama starts his second term. In the Fox 23 “Beat the Traffic” segment on the morning after Obama won re-election, traffic reporter Jeff Brucculeri took a look at some of the delays around Tulsa before having some fun with disgruntled voters. “We had some folks make a special request,” Brucculeri explained. “I know a lot people said that if their candidate lost the election, they’d be moving to Canada — not sure why, but that was some of the folks’ promises out there.” So, the traffic anchor proceeded to give “the quickest and directest route” up north, where big government, same sex marriage and universal health are a part of everyday life. Brucculeri advised Tulsa residents to take Highway 75 to Omaha, and then I-29 to the Canadian border. “This is serious stuff,” he told laughing staff in the newsroom. “When you get to Canada, you’re going to hit the border here, make sure you got either your [passport] card or your passport, OK, to get into Canada now. Then you’re going to get back on Highway 75 in Canada or it’s actually the Lord Selkirk Highway. If you’re moving to Canada, you’re going to need to know this. Lord Selkirk Highway, OK?” Montreal-based immigration lawyer immigration lawyer David Cohen told CNN that he had received calls from all over the United States after Romney lost on Tuesday. “That’s the amazing thing, when they speak on the phone. They’re adamant. They feel very, very strong about it,” Cohen said. “This government doesn’t speak for me’ is the language that we often hear.” Watch this video from Fox 23, broadcast Nov. 7, 2012. 11. Actually you know nothing about AGW. By the use of the term 'climate change', you have bought Frank Luntz's reframe i.e, propaganda of 'global warming' to 'climate change'. In fact your miniscule group of amatuer scientists is irrelavant.
  12. Some of the above I agree with such as the wasted money on the national security apparatus i.e, war on terror, which is a direct result of the fear and paranoia after 911 etc. However, the Republican pollster propagandist Frank Luntz along with Karl Rove, reframed the meaning of programs such as Social Security, Medicare etc. to make it appear that beneficiaries of such programs were wanting something for nothing, although beneficiaries of these programs paid into these programs all their working lives and receive benefits after a certain age. What were once benefits has now been reframed to 'entitlements' with propaganda attached to mean the recipients are receiving something for nothing, freeloaders using the system for their own personal gain. Nothing could be further from the truth! Just lies coming from the extremists on the right in their quest for more power. To fabricate a falsehood is easy with statistics or as above post frames it with 'math'. The link provided is a classic written in the 1950's 'How To Lie With Statistics" which is still relevant today. It is required reading for all college math majors. I read it. http://www.amazon.co...f/dp/0393310728
  13. The extreme right of the Tea Bagger Republican party lost and already there is division among the party.
  14. http://www.rawstory....lling-stations/ http://dispatchpolitics.dispatch.com/content/blogs/the-daily-briefing/2012/11/6-november-2012---ttv-denied.html The tea party-affiliated group True the Vote has been barred from monitoring polling places in Franklin County, the second largest county in Ohio, after allegedly submitting fraudulent forms. “The Franklin County Board of Elections did not allow Election Day polling location observer appointments filed by the True the Vote group,” board spokesman Ben Pisctelli told The Columbus Dispatch in a statement. “The appointments were not properly filed and our voting location managers were instructed not to honor any appointment on behalf of the True the Vote group.” Plunderbund reported that True the Vote had likely falsified or forged election observer forms submitted to the Franklin County Board of Elections. Board member Zachary Manifold told Plunderbund he was “amazed that a group that goes to such extreme lengths to claim voting fraud in Ohio would knowingly forge or misuse signatures to try to gain access to Franklin County polling locations.” True the Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht denied he allegations, insisting that no one trained by True the Vote had done anything illegal or unethical. Engelbrecht said the incident was the Ohio Democratic Party’s “final, desperate attempt to deny citizens their right to observe elections” and vowed to take legal action. The group had hoped to place poll watchers in predominately African American areas. True the Vote had asked to send poll watchers to 28 precincts in Franklin County — which includes the capital, Columbus. African Americans comprise more than half the population in 20 of the 28 targeted precincts, though they make up only about 12 percent of the state’s total population. Left-leaning groups have accused True the Vote of seeking to intimidate Democratic voters. A woman trained by True the Vote told the Franklin County Board of Elections that she had been told to aggressively record suspicious voters with cameras, record their names on a tablet computer, and attempt to stop them from voting. The election board noted that type of activity was illegal. The Justice Department investigated the poll watching program after receiving a number of complaints about voter intimidation in Hispanic and African-American areas around Houston in 2010. Poll watchers allegedly were hovering over voters and being confrontational with election workers. However, no charges were ever filed against the group. True the Vote says its campaign is non-partisan, yet its website contains numerous missives attacking liberals, including statements such as “vote fraud is nearly an exclusive crime of the left” and that the left wants “to be able to steal elections at will.” Raw Story(http://s.tt/1skMo)
  15. Many reports of voter suppression, persons given absentee ballots in place of regular ballots and names of legally registered voters missing from the voter rolls. The SCOTUS ruling in Bush v Gore that states there is no inherent right to vote in the Constitution was completely absurd. Until there is a legal mandate giving all the right to vote, then supression tactics will continue.
  16. http://www.citypaper.net/blogs/nakedcity/GOP-poll-watchers-allegedly-targeting-black-precincts-in-Pittsburgh-.html GOP poll watchers allegedly targeting black precincts in Pittsburgh Follow on Twitter @DanielDenvir Civil rights and other progressive groups have sent a letter to Assistant U.S. Attorney General Thomas Perez alleging that the Pennsylvania Republican Party and Pittsburgh Tea Party are targeting Pittsburgh precincts with large numbers of black voters "under the guise of combating alleged voter fraud." “We have seen their list and it strongly suggests that the Pennsylvania Republican Party is coordinating with the Pittsburgh Tea Party to target African American voters for intimidation at the polls,” according to a statement from Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Associate General Counsel Nicole Berner. “The Pennsylvania Republican Party has serious questions to answer about where they are putting their poll watchers and why.” According to the letter, the rights organizations obtained a partial list of targeted precincts distributed at a Pittsburgh Tea Party poll watcher training coordinated with the Republican Party. The precincts have a black voter registration of over 79 percent. Full text of the letter is below: November 5, 2012 The Honorable Thomas E. Perez Assistant Attorney General Civil Rights Division U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20530 Dear Assistant Attorney General Perez: The undersigned civil rights and community organizations write to raise concerns about the likely targeting of African-American voters by the Republican Party and groups and individuals acting in concert with it in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Allegheny County is one of 51 jurisdictions that will be monitored by the Civil Rights Division of Department of Justice on Election Day 2012 as part of the Department’s efforts to enforce the Voting Rights Act, to prevent discrimination, and to the protect the rights of voters of color. We have received information that strongly suggests the Republican Party, under the guise of combating alleged voter fraud, has assigned Election Day poll watchers disproportionately to majority African-American precincts in Allegheny County. We are in receipt of a partial list of targeted precincts that was distributed at a poll watcher training conducted by the Pittsburgh Tea Party Movement. The Pittsburgh Tea Party Movement conducted this training, on behalf of the Republican Party, as part of its program to combat alleged voter fraud in Allegheny County. We understand the Republican Party has targeted approximately 111, out of a total 1,319 precincts, in that county. The partial list, which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, includes 59 of the total 111 precincts targeted by the Republican Party. We are unaware of any history of voter fraud at any of these 59 locations. We are concerned that these locations are being targeted for impermissible, racially-motivated reasons. A comparison of the 59 Republican Party targeted precincts to the other precincts in Allegheny County reveals that the targeted precincts disproportionately contain African-American voters. Specifically, the targeted precincts are over 79% African-American. By contrast, the nontargeted precincts contain, on average, less than 11% African-American registered voters. Moreover, although the targeted precincts include only 3% of the total number of voters in Allegheny County, they contain 18.5% of the registered African American voters. The vast majority of these precincts are among those with the mostly highly concentrated African- American populations in the County. A statistical analysis of the 59 Republican Party targeted precincts is attached hereto as Exhibit B. On the basis of the above, the undersigned organizations are extremely concerned that the racial composition of the targeted precincts districts suggests that race may have been a factor in the decision of the Republican Party to target these 59 precincts in its voter fraud prevention program with the purpose or potential significant effect of deterring qualified African-American voters in Allegheny County from casting their ballots and thereby suppressing the minority vote. We call upon the Justice Department monitors to make every effort to ensure that voters at these targeted locations are able to cast their ballots freely and fairly on Election Day and to inquire of the Republican Party and the Pittsburgh Tea Party Movement as to the source of its list and the basis of the targeting. 17. I stated there are "some" which is not a sweeping generalization as you so love to characterize it. I lived in the deep south at one time and there still exists a problem with racial bias. If you believe that humans that were once racist or are descended from racially biased families have somehow magically changed their deep seated fear of others who are different, then you are absolutely mistaken. I am of mixed race and your posts are offensive to me. Why not show a little compassion for others who have been victimized through no fault of their own and are less fortunate than you are.
  18. There are some that would return this country to the 'Jim Crow' laws of the past and rescind the voting rights act.
  19. It is the Republican right wing that has created this issue. In the past it was never a problem. The problem is not voter fraud but election fraud with the right wing. There are a number of instances happening in the last month. Just Google and find out. Recently a Republican operative was caught disposing of Democratic voter registrations in a dumpster. It has been demonstrated that voting machines can be hacked using remote wireless devices. All votes from the state of Ohio are being tabulated remotely in Virginia. Romney's son owns a voting machine company that has provided machines for Hamilton County Ohio. Voting machine software is proprietary and not open for public inspection. In terms of voter fraud, there are very few cases. Why? It is a felony with a sentence up to 5 yrs.
  20. Paul Weyrich the founder of the right wing movement and ALEC states why the right wing must interfere with voting rights.
