If you read the OP, I was asking a question. However, many of the Republican politicians fit some of the categories of sociopathic behavior. Further, Rush Limbaugh the flag bearer for the right wing, is a sociopath and authoritarian. His recent vitriol against the Georgetown law student is indicative of that personality disorder. How many Republican candidates for POTUS actually have sincere empathy for the suffering of others? Why do the Republicans insist on letting excessive unregulated speculation on Wall Street, determine high prices for fuel? Wall Street speculators are not end users and are only driven by greed! With increasing fuel costs, basic food stuffs will rise to the point where many families will have to choose between food or gasoline. BTW, I wasn't equating the Republicans to Nazi's. I was using historical material to prove a point.

I know what projection is. Would you care to elaborate as to how projection applies in the context of the OP?

I don't agree. Oil and gasoline prices are higher because of speculation in the commodities market. Speculators are not interested in using the contracts which are traded but are only interested in making massive amounts of money. Around 70% of all oil futures are owned by Wall Street. Demand for gasoline is low in the U.S., yet gas prices have increased by .40 cents in the last month. Further, the largest U.S. export is gasoline. The simplistic supply and demand model that politicians and economists love to pander to the masses is a ludicrous explanation for this occurrence. Unregulated speculation is not factored into the simplistic supply and demand model. Before the markets were deregulated, contracts were bought and sold so as fleets and airlines could price their fees 6 months to a year in advance. A Google search will show relevant information. FYI, I have traded commodities and understand the mechanics of the markets extremely well. BTW, I don't own or trade oil futures! Do some research. Here is a place to start. http://www.kentucky....-influence.html -
For more info on Reich, here is the link to the Wilhelm Reich Museum. I visited the museum back in the mid 80's and was able to see what his work was about. Several of his works are required reading if you want to understand conditioning i.e, character armoring. http://www.wilhelmreichtrust.org/

The OP at hand is in regards to Republicans and not Obama! The OP and ensuing thread, is not a deflection but a discussion of specifics. What I posted has nothing to do with a paranoid view of the media, as the Tea Bagger Republicans love to blame. Santorum has expressed those views and I challenge you to provide evidence to the contrary! Given that you have so many issues with Obama, why not start your own thread!

The Republican presidential wannabes seem to be more concerned about; birth control, abortion, DOMA, the devil, good vs. evil etc. These concerns are based in fundamentalist religious belief systems which originated during the 'Middle Ages' i.e, 'Dark Ages'. For a return to superstition and the 'Dark Ages' voting for Santorum will complete that journey.

The Tao didn't create the one. The Tao is not about some Biblical creation story. I would recommend reading and studying the many fine threads here and ask questions.

Wilson was brilliant in being able to examine both sides of an argument simultaneously. His book on Quantum Psychology gives exercises for this. If I remember correctly, that book was written without the use of 'is' or the 'isness of identity'. To have a better understanding of Wilson's work and the importance of changing one's perception from the 'isness of identity' i.e, Aristotelean to a non Aristotelean view, read Korzybski's 'Science and Sanity'.

I guess you have nothing intelligent to add. What has your generation accomplished? Video games?

For your info Joe, I grew up in the 60's and my generation (flower children), not just here in the U.S., is responsible for stopping the Vietnam war. Furthermore, my generation created a renaissance and enlightenment in the arts (music, literature etc.) comparable to the European 'Renaissance' and 'Enlightenment'. Lest we not forget, womens rights, civil rights and so on that was a result of protests and political activism. Also computer information technology began in WWII with major advances in computer languages and integrated circuits in the 50's and 60's. What about the 'Tea Bagger' stance against the George Bush war in Iraq and Afghanistan war? Never hear one mention against the wars from the 'Tea Bagger Republicans'. When it comes to nationalism and 'support the troops', then the right wing gets all teary eyed and emotional. Make all the fun and disrespectful comments you care to, however, without my generation and my parents generation hard work and sacrifice, the country would be much different. Most likely not a suitable place to live.

Just a few minutes to start this thread and will post thoughts later. This documentary is a must see as to the causes and effects of an unregulated Wall Street.

I use to play the Tabla as well as the Sitar which are both insanely difficult.

Interest rates have been kept low so that investment banks such as Goldman Sachs can borrow money from the Fed discount window at less than 1%. In turn, these banks use that money to manipulate the markets in their favor. HFT or high frequency trading. A Google search will reveal much. I never believed that lower interest rates were for the greater good at this time. Banks are still tight with any loans. Low interest rates do not attract investors, either domestic or foreign. Google 'carried interest rates' for a detailed explanation.

I rented it through Netflix. I believe Encaphalon recommended this documentary some time ago.

Your world view that markets need less regulation which is the primary cause for the economic disaster perpetrated on the world economy. The ideology of Ayn Rand objectivist, laissez faire economics is a lesson that you, The Cato Institute and the "Republican Tea Bagger" movement, have yet to learn.

Nice spelling.

Does this say more about Republicans than Americans in general?

The opening to the game yesterday was complete with "God Bless America" and rampant nationalism. The military is being used as a backdrop in venues of this kind as well as political events.

One of my Aikido teachers has a very old Japanese calvary sword. I believe it was from WWII. Still very sharp and obviously hand made by a fine craftsman. One of my dreams has been to own a high quality sword such as a Katana. However, the expense of purchasing an authentic one is prohibitive. Anyway, I was looking at high quality knives at My link and found this demonstration of a Katana. These guys have no knowledge of proper sword technique but the cutting action of this sword is incredible.
