  1. How to start a cult

Famous quote by Herman Goering. If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth. ... Hermann Goering to Leon Goldensohn, May 24, 1946
  2. Heres to you Vajraji, Mr. positive.
  3. Has Vajraji sent you his psychic judgment number? I hope the first 10 minutes of judgment are free.
  4. Since when are you the sole arbiter of judging others by using a Buddhist standard? Who appointed you? The Buddha?
  5. You are the master of patronizing and condescending remarks! Pretending that you are some guru by telling others what practices they should or shouldn't do or even judging where there progress is, is not inappropriate. Further, your psychic judgment of my progress is unwelcome. Especially, your assessment of what you deemed my lack of progress with the first two jhanas. You have no clue as to who I am or where my progress is. Your judgments are only made by your own metric and only apply to you and no one else. You sound as if you are running a new age psychic hot line.
  6. Basically, one could argue your position from any point of view and belief system. All traditions only want to take credit for positive results and want no responsibility for negative results. The Buddha taught a view of totality which is as Gurdjieff would term it "all and everything". Leaving out what you find distasteful i.e, negativity, is realizing only a partial realization.
  7. You don't remember these teachings? I am really disappointed! What about your past lives as a Tibetan Buddhist.
  8. I didn't know that was you in another life!
  9. What is the best religion?

I understand what you mean. However, I really enjoy writing that is clear and as precise as possible. I dislike reading poorly written posts that are confusing and need interpretation. I was just trying to give Vajraji a little encouragement, which is probably to no avail.
  10. What is the best religion?

Fine! The only thing I ask is that you correct your grammar, spelling errors and stop being so rebellious about it. Obtain a copy of 'Strunk and White'. You would gain my respect by writing in a clear and comprehensible manner. Express your intelligence well and not in some hurried manner as your posts seem to indicate.
  11. What is the best religion?

I was referring to Jetsun's statement and not what you are referring to. Please reread my post. What do memories of being Tibetan have to do with this conversation? I almost forgot that you were Tibetan, a giant that built pyramids and dino the dinosaur. Of course that has nothing to do with anything, given the fact that any concept of self is an illusion. Therefor, past lives are not important, except where convenient to use as a status symbol. That really does make you a superior being to all the lowly beings on this forum that attempt to hold a debate with you.
  12. What is the best religion?

Where was your IQ measured? By whom? Anyone can fantasize.
  13. What is the best religion?

I am going to end this debate with the absolutely real religion, whereas all others pale in comparison. The most subtle and nuanced in the entire cosmos! http://www.subgenius.com/
  14. What Books are by Your Bed?

He stated in an interview that Shea was the co-writer.
  15. What is the best religion?

Tibetan wannabes here in the West, have strange notions in regards to Tibetan culture. Tibetans are elevated to a larger than life status, which is absurd. Here in Santa Fe there is a very large Tibetan refugee culture. They all seem like normal human beings trying to make their way in life. Same problems as everyone else. In general, Westerners are fascinated with anything exotic and will make ridiculous assumptions that have no basis in reality.
  16. What Books are by Your Bed?

Anyone read any of Robert Anton Wilson's books? All are worth reading. I really enjoyed 'The Illuminatis Trilogy'. An acid trip in a submarine.

  18. What Books are by Your Bed?

What did you think of 'Radix'?
  19. Absolutely! It is remarkably easy to have unanimous consent between like minded groupies.
  20. The Mysterious Origins of Man 2

I can't wait! Are you going to include the same esteemed ID scientists as before? I certainly hope so.
  21. What is the best religion?

Have you lived among Tibetans or in Tibet? What I read here are generalizations with no proof. Perhaps their emotions are more suppressed and the show of emotion is unacceptable in their cultural. The only way to know for certain is to live in the Tibetan culture. Levels of guilt and self hatred in the West is another good one. As if those emotions are not in all cultures.
  22. English is not the problem but how it is utilized. What does Sanskrit have to do with the proper use of English? Are you able to fluently communicate using Sanskrit? If so, what value does your knowledge of Sanskrit give to this forum?
  23. What is the best religion?

There seems to be an implication in your statement, that Tibetans are the paragon of virtue. Tibetan families have no problems?
  24. That could be nothing more than just realizing words and believing an indoctrination. Words do not define reality!
  25. I don't see you using those symbols here. Moreover, your narrative is an attempt to create absolutes where none exist. The limitations of any language creates difficulties in interpersonal communication. English is fraught with problems that are based on Aristotelian logic. Aristotelian logic is based on absolute definitions that create in the mind an exact representation of subject and object. That is an illusion. Yes/no, right/wrong, black/white are some examples of how phenomena are termed in this system. Most every speaker of English, with a few exceptions, use the above framework in everyday communication. The challenge is to be aware of this ingrained framework and make changes where appropriate. Here is a great place to start. http://www.amazon.com/Science-Sanity-Introduction-Non-Aristotelian-Semantics/dp/0937298018/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309882739&sr=8-1 Robert Anton Wilson's books are very useful for understanding this problem. His writing is both entertaining and fun! Wilson wrote an entire book without using "is", not certain of the title. http://www.rawilson.com/home.html The problems with the cultural symbols, yantras etc. are that those symbols are not necessarily universal, but culturally biased. Some verbal explanation most always accompany the symbol in question.
