Your enlightenment in this life is assured!

Hell Realms? Give me a break! This kind of propaganda is used to evoke people's fear and is akin to the dark ages of Catholicism. Further, this fear mongering keeps the masses controlled and are easy to fleece! These concepts are infantile and are indicative of superstition and narrow mindedness. Don't you Buddhists ever question this? -

Vajraji is our resident fanatic and has admitted so on numerous occasions. His agenda is to put down other religions and belief systems in the hope that he will have Buddhist converts. He has on numerous occasions attempted to convince me that the Buddha understood Einstein's work on Special and General Relativity. LOL!! He is absolutely convinced that Buddhism is the one true path. His writings are chaotic and fractured which gives him plenty of wiggle room thus making it very difficult and even impossible to have a rational debate. -
Recently I had a discussion with Mal in regards to moderator action on this forum. I was making quires as to why my questions are ignored or given vague answers. I was told the moderators are shaping discussions to add value. When I asked how value is defined in this context, I was given no satisfactory answer. If the moderators have some vague idea that manipulating discussions add value, then there must be personal biases in determining value in a given context. The recent banishment of Raymond Wolter "cheerleader" remark, was never given a satisfactory answer as to cause. I suspect there may be a cultural misunderstanding. However, that is no excuse, given the vast resources of the internet to arrive at a better understanding of a term in a given context. When I inquired as to the reasons for my banishment this summer, I was told that I was disturbing the valued members on this forum. Huh? What does that mean? Who are the valued members? I was ignored as usual. The attitude toward me was that I needed to be banished to have time to think and ponder the error of my ways. Has this forum turned into a money making enterprise that will trump free speech? Again, who are the valued members? http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/16216-ttb-reputation-system/page__st__80

What I meant by nonlinear is that effects of Qigong practices are not easy to predict. There exists a continuum of possible outcomes from Qigong practice and various outcomes are individual and may be cultural in nature.

Mal, In regards to your previous comment that you have some need to shape discussions for value, no explanation has been forthcoming. What are your criteria and why do you feel a need to manipulate ongoing discussions?

Lack of spiritual experience? Speak for yourself!

More than 3 variables. X to the 3rd etc. Not easily quantified due to variables interacting with each other. Complex systems which are fractal in nature. The human energy field is a fractal. See the work of Dr. Valerie Hunt

This was just brought up on another thread, where posters are cutting, pasting and claiming the content is their own work. I believe there are several posters here that cut and paste, blatantly copy from books, then change a few words to make it appear original. Some here quote liberally without citing proper references.

Please cite the so called evidence.

Obviously, you know nothing about dynamic systems. Further, there are closed systems and open systems. To make the claim that you or a Buddha can fully understand the cosmic system, is illusion. The constant in any dynamic system is change. Therefore, you or anyone will never fully understand.

The outdated idea that channels, meridians etc. are part of a linear array, is a fragmented view. The human energy fields is complex and non linear. Therefore, I agree with GIH. Will post more next week.

The problem is that you never debate and only choose to rant ad infinitum, untenable arguments. Further, you will be responsible for the lack of interest in the Dharma.

You have mentioned your drinking several times and I thought I would comment on it. If you are adverse to your habits being discussed, then quit talking about it. You seem to need attention.

I forgot to post the link. The post at the bottom of page 2 is where it is brought up. http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/16290-sacred-text-that-has-not-been-altered-by-man/page__st__16 -
Medicine? Several of my former employees told me that a shot of whiskey at night is great medicine. Their ability to perform on the job was always impaired! They always claimed they were moderate drinkers. What you don't know is that Norbu was a very heavy drinker and smoker after he started teaching at the University of Naples. He was forced to stop due to health problems. Further, Trungpa drank from a bottle of Sake while teaching to the public. He claimed it was good medicine to kill the constant pain from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was an alcoholic. Why not do a Yantra Yoga series instead of drinking. Much healthier!

You insist that the Buddha is a permanent fixture in an infinite universe. Yet insist that nothing is permanent.

Please speak for yourself by removing we from your opinion. You do not speak for all beings. I for one have no interest in being classified as suffering from delusion.

Sorry to disappoint. All religious texts were created by humans!

I was thinking about pore breathing with the whole body and if it is possible to open these channels in that fashion.

When will the lectures be posted? Thanks

I guess you view the forum members as ants? Ants are part of an insect collective i.e, hive mind. Humans do at times exhibit a hive mind dynamic. However, humans are able to individuate, have evolved higher brain functions and therefor be independent from the group. I disagree with your assessment!
-
It is obvious you have analyzed this correctly and put the entire argument in proper perspective. Clearly, the Buddhist apologist's have not. Excellent!

Exactly, who thought of this? I read the criteria as to how posts are graded. The criteria are subjective at best and may represent personal biases on the part of individual moderators. This micro managing of people's opinions will eventually ruin this forum! It seems to me that free speech is not welcome here. This forum is part of the real world and to separate opinions into some mythical hierarchy of good and bad serves no one here. To me, it is offensive to be treated as if I were a child who is misbehaving and will not have a gold star on the refrigerator this week.

I will begin another thread.
