Exactly! The cosmos can never be quantified semantically. ralis

In my first philosophy class as a college freshman, I wrote my first paper on Kant. I made the mistake of stating untenable absolutes. There were red marks all over my paper. I can still see those red marks. Vajraji doesn't yet realize that my remarks are red marks. ralis

BP Water-Fire alchemy: NOT a political thread, please
ralis replied to Taomeow's topic in General Discussion
Taomeow, As I have stated before, BP et al are not that smart. Profit is their only concern. Exactly what are your sources for this so called alchemy that is supposedly dreamed up by BP? Further, I am a currency trader and gold is over 1200/oz. If BP et al were to flood the market with gold, the price would drop significantly. Makes no sense, economically! ralis -
Again you state tenets without proof, just personal opinion. For example, saying only certain aspects of Taoism are equated with enlightened Buddhism. Again you use Buddhism as a metric to compare and contrast Taoism with Buddhism. You are nothing more than a reactionary (fundamentalist) to your past conditioning and seek to dominate others with your point of view. Fundamentalist's are reactionaries and fanatics and that is how you come across. Not as one who is interested and curious about life. ralis

Are you meditating or are you self-hypnotizing yourself?
ralis replied to Birdoftruth's topic in General Discussion
The challenge is to have awareness, mindfulness in every aspect of one's life after the formal practice is completed. There are myriad ways to accomplish this. However, I don't agree with Vajraji and his incessant rants here. Many excellent threads have been totally disrupted by his fundamentalist view. I thought this thread was about hypnosis and trance and how that relates to meditation. The main point of this topic i.e, trance and my considering the ramifications of trance is one of mass trance induction. Are practices such as chanting, meditating, reading sutras, texts etc. just a way for one to be inducted into a trance i.e, belief system? Are the realizations of such practices just a closed ended trance? Further, how does one distinguish trance from the real thing? More to follow. ralis -
Are you meditating or are you self-hypnotizing yourself?
ralis replied to Birdoftruth's topic in General Discussion
I don't have a limited perception of your preaching. I see it for what it is. What do you hope to accomplish by posting this? Without a context of a practice, what you referred to accomplishes nothing. ralis -

I thought this thread was in regards to hypnosis, not about the superiority of Buddhism. What is offered here is merely an academic overview with nothing substantive. ralis ralis -

What texts? Thanks

Honestly, I am not interested in hearing ad nauseum about what the Buddha did. You just can't resist preaching. Please stick to the topic. Further this thread is not about comparing and contrasting Taoism and Buddhism. ralis
-
He wants the Tao to be a primary cause so he can refute it. ralis

Every thread that even mentions Buddhism, you have to fly in and make certain everyone hears about dependent origination ad infinitum. Franky, I am sick of it. ralis

I really appreciate the simplicity of this. Not to be analyzed mentally but experienced directly. Thanks

One can believe anything to be absolutely real while in a trance! http://www.willproject.org/wiki/Trance:_from_magic_to_technology ralis

Again, you are hedging your arguments. If someone proves your argument faulty, then you redefine your original argument so that you are always right. ralis

In reading this argument, fear of being reabsorbed is the prime motivator that underlies Buddhism. ralis

Buddhists believe they have the means to escape the cosmos. Just another cop out! ralis
-
You somehow believe the "right view" is out there somewhere, yet you have never realized the "right view". How can you discern what is "right"? Circular reasoning to the nth degree! ralis

I agree! I made similar arguments last year and was only slammed by Vajraji et al. He and his kind are so thoroughly invested in "the right view", they are unable to apply critical thinking to their belief system. Belief systems are security blankets! ralis
