I guess you are looking for more dogma. ralis

I completely agree! This is why I left the Tibetan Buddhist scene. Actually, Tibetan Buddhism is not Buddhism but, Lamaism. Dogma is disseminated by the priests with a few crumbs along the way to keep the followers brainwashed. Your insight is greatly appreciated! ralis

You seem to have the idea that education has been the domain of liberals. The last administration with it's "No Child Left Behind" agenda has contributed to nothing more than teaching kids tests! That agenda will have far reaching neg. consequences. Why? If one is only taught how to pass a test, then critical thinking that leads to sound rational judgments has been deleted. I think that is a right wing conservative agenda. If you don't believe me, then diligently research past history and the answer becomes apparent. Progressives in general, want an educational system free of religious dogma and right wing repressive agenda's. I think you have been listening to Rush Limbaugh and Fox News and that has biased your opinion towards Elena Kagan. Your statement about her is an opinion of a bigot, and is not based on facts, just right wing propaganda. Furthermore, why is there so much interest from people such as yourself as to what race or sexual orientation a person is, that is cited as a determining factor, as to whether or not a person is qualified for a job or not. ralis

Since you use the term "subtle" in almost every post, then why not write an essay comparing and contrasting the difference between profound and subtle. Is there a Buddhist scale indicating the level of subtlety one can experience? A scale of 1-10 perhaps? Realization is neither subtle nor profound, it just is. Unless of course one is just a bliss junkie and is seeking the ultimate illusory vibe. ralis

Another example of idiot politicians re-framing the issue. I guess if he doesn't see the oil leak disaster, it doesn't exist. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/06/haley-barbour-oil-what-oi_n_602088.html ralis

Just found this. More BP manipulation. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/Broadcast/bp-buys-search-engine-phrases-redirecting-users/story?id=10835618 ralis

I have heard the CFR conspiracy for decades, yet, see no proof of mass manipulation on their part. If and only if there is mass hypnotic consumer manipulation on their part, then posit direct evidence. Otherwise, you are just using conspiracy theories to rest your arguments on. One of the problems with the educational system in the U.S. is the lack of training students how to develop critical thinking skills. Instead, there is a mass psychology of groupthink being driven by fear and the corporate media. To blame liberals is ludicrous. I suggest you read up on the latest Texas School Board rulings. Narrowing your arguments to one group (kids) being "self-absorbed, self-entitling overconsumers" as somehow separate from a nation that is in general plagued by overconsumption, misses the point and places the blame of overconsumption on a few. Then you equate being progressive with being "cool". A lot of marketing hype that claims to be cool, progressive and green, is just that, hype! Your greenbacks are what corporations are interested in! Has anyone noticed the media calling the Gulf disaster a "spill". This is a classic re-framing tool used by propagandists to change how masses view an event. Karl Rove and Frank Luntz are masters at re-framing and may be propagating this misinformation. ralis

BP's effort to "top kill" has been stopped. There is oil and drilling mud leaking from the BOP. The following link is excellent for gaining a better understanding of this process. http://www.theoildrum.com/ ralis

A friend of mine is a Geologist and is very experienced in the well drilling business. When I asked him about BP's idea to try "top kill", he said "it won't work". Too much pressure. ralis

I think no dispersants should be used and then it is more efficient to collect the oil in booms. Coagulants may be a better alternative. Now that the oil is in the loop, the potential damage is mind boggling! http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/05/20/AR2010052002142.html?hpid=topnews ralis

If the agency that issues permits and regulations is at fault, then their jobs should be in question. Is it all Salazar's fault? Most likely not. I would imagine years of deregulation from several administrations are to blame. Every post I made has video or photos. The images don't lie. This is not a partisan issue. Of course the shills on Fox News would say otherwise. Brit Hume said "where is the oil"? BP's CEO said it is just a "tiny spill". Watch the videos and satellite photos and you will see that is far from the truth. ralis
-
Exactly what is your point? There seems to be evidence that the oil is hitting the keys. I think you are listening to BP and the Republican talking points. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/19/gulf-oil-spill-louisiana_n_582796.html ralis

Unless you are a licensed therapist or psychiatrist, then you can't make such a diagnostic evaluation. That is a medical diagnosis not some pop psychology idea you may have. ralis -

The problem is your use of Einstein's theories of relativity. I asked you many times which theory and I never received an answer. General or Special? ralis
