Emptiness points? In what way does conceptual emptiness point? Pointing is a physical act. Self doesn't interfere in experience? I asked my partner what she thought of your post. She hung out with the Advaita groups for years and found it to be problematic in that a "self" is desperately trying to prove "no self." Or, to use the mind to discredit the mind. In all my years taking teachings from Tibetan lama's I heard about no self and emptiness ad nauseam, and felt as if I was being brain washed! That is why I left the Tibetan Lama Dharma King cult! BTW, I don't include Norbu in that bunch.

Space is not empty. I wish that Buddhists or whomever came up with that term would stop using that it. Emptiness is not in my experience whatsoever.

Yes, I agree there a few, but rather limited opportunities for primordial teachings in a limited venue. Most teachings are bogged down with cultural baggage, most of are from a compressed patriarchal point of view. Rarely are such teachings given without the need for preliminary BS. Getting plugged in to the real nature of life can be overwhelming! I think most are really afraid to admit or come to terms as to what primordial realization entails. To be very honest, it scared and terrified me like nothing I had ever encountered. Having discussions from a left brain point of view usually proceeds from non experiential, or my teacher talked about it, or I read about it. This entire discussion for the most part lacks personal experience.

From my experience the concept of spaciousness is limited. The experience of infinite space both within and without is where the Longde or space series is most valuable. Perhaps I am splitting hairs, but after having my concept of space/time utterly destroyed by Norbu way back in 1989, well............

So far in this thread no connections have been made which is typical for this forum. My point is that a split happened, most likely during the Axial Age, that changed belief systems. Judeo-Christian beliefs are not non-dual, but are antagonistic to any notion of non separate existence. Judeo-Christian BS posit a separate existence from divinity where work, penance or other factors are required to garner favor or become unified with a separate divinity/absolute. Space and light are all that exists. Light is what forms the phenomenal world of objects and only exists in the mother of space. The patriarchy/priesthood has been the problem all along with their left brain irrational ideology.

From my study of the Axial Age I found the belief systems as you mentioned were formed during and somewhat before the Axial Age. What were belief systems before that? Most likely tribal deities/shamanism as written about in Joseph Campbell's "The Masks of God." Interference by a priesthood that changed primal beliefs i.e, Judeo-Christian monotheism. Dzogchen teachings are universal and timelessness.

I did a Google search and find no credible link to where he made such a statement. I always do my own research! All politics are not based in conspiracy nonsense. Conspiracies are always on the menu for gullible right wing sycophants. E.g. Qanon etc.

It is easy to cut/paste here, but I find very little on Chris Rentsch except a few articles and interviews nor find curriculum vitae. Is he a research scientist employed by academia or elsewhere? It is important to know this.

The drought is extremely severe here. There are thousands of dead pinyons on the East side of town on Old Santa Fe Trail not far from St. Johns College. Pinyon mortality is caused by an Ips confusus bark beetle which is a vector for a particular species of fungus which kills the tree almost overnight. Dead trees equals fire hazard.

The Hermit's Peak fire has grown to 260K acres as of a few hours ago and there be no stopping it. The main thrust of the fire is about 20 miles from Taos NM and probably 20 miles from Santa Fe. The SW is in the midst of a severe drought. 5349.jpg.webp

Took awhile to upload an image. The fire clouds as seen here are indicative of a crown fire. Not something anyone wants to be close to.

Defining non-dual etc. will take an infinite length of time. An argument of this magnitude will fill every server on the planet, just for starters.

Given that you have it all figured out then why are you posting here? Perhaps you are attempting to convince yourself by preaching from your pulpit!
