  1. Under Trump

That is the problem. Relations between the US and Taiwan are unofficial. http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/35855.htm
  2. Under Trump

To reiterate, the USA broke off diplomatic relations with Taiwan in 1979. This is a sensitive problem with China and needs to be handled with careful diplomacy. Trump has no clue!!!
  3. Under Trump

What I am seeing from some on this thread is the normalization of Trump's behavior as well as the past history of his chosen cabinet members. Normalize and any behavior becomes commonplace and not seen for what it is.
  4. Under Trump

He is not the president yet! Allegedly he is looking at building a new hotel in Taiwan.
  5. Under Trump

Have you considered the problems with Trump's cabinet selections, conflicts of interest and so forth? Trump's phone conversation with the president of Taiwan and one must remember that the USA cut diplomatic ties with Taiwan in 1979. Moreover, his phone call to the president of Pakistan. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-taiwan-idUSKBN13R2NT
  6. Football question

I believe the ball did cross the plane of the goal line, but the replay angle was not a good view. Buckeyes beat Nebraska 62-3 this year. A real beat down.
  7. Football question

I thought for a moment UofM may be Michigan, but I also remembered it is 'TheU'.
  8. Fast way to heal flue?

Did you inject yourself with the virus? Where did you obtain a pure sample?
  9. Football question

If it is Appalachian State I remember that last minute touchdown against Michigan which was one of the best upsets ever. The Buckeyes have beaten Michigan 14 out of the last 16 times. Saturday's game was intense and 110,000 rabid Buckeye fans were squeezed into the horseshoe which set a record. The greatest rivalry in sports.
  10. Football question

It was interesting. Dallas had far too many turnovers and penalties. At 55 seconds is the play in question. He touches the pylon which is all that is needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1DRFhZ02C0
  11. Football question

Brian and Kar3n must be football fans. What teams? Ohio State is ranked number 2 behind Alabama and most likely will be in the playoffs, although, the conference championship games tomorrow could change that. Will know for certain Sunday.
  12. Fast way to heal flue?

Under controlled lab conditions? What toxin?
  13. Fast way to heal flue?

Have never seen it that fast from anybody I know that uses those practices. Although Wim Hof has not succumb to a virus that was given to him under controlled laboratory conditions over a ten day period.
  14. Football question

I saw the play and he definitely broke the plane with the ball. Pro teams have observers in the booth and carefully watch each play and will challenge any play they feel there is a chance of overturning. A timeout is charged against the challenging team if the challenge fails, but if the challenge stands no timeout is charged. I caught most of that game last night so I could watch Ezekiel Elliott play for Dallas. Elliott was the running back at Ohio State when they won the national championship two years ago. For his size (5'11" 225 lbs) he is very fast and once he hits the second level, he has the speed to outrun the secondary. He was a track star in high school. Do you watch a lot of football? Ohio State football runs in my blood.
  15. Fast way to heal flue?

Given that flu is caused by a viral infection it will take about 10 days for the immune system to produce enough antibodies to fight the infection.
  16. Fast way to heal flue?

Cayenne and olive leaf extract works as a relief for me. Also, probiotics promote healthy gut flora which is related to the immune system. I think you mean flu as opposed to flue.
  17. Standing Rock

Just heard a report that police are checking all vehicles for food, propane and any other supplies that may benefit the 'water protectors'. It appears the cops are trying to starve them out.
  18. Standing Rock

2,000 Veterans are forming a human shield around the water protectors. http://www.democraticunderground.com/10141628540
  19. Buddhist ajna chakra training?

In terms of yidam practice, it depends on the level of practice transmitted. The highest is internal with instant transformation of oneself as the deity. Most are never given that opportunity, but are given a gradual practice.
  20. Buddhist ajna chakra training?

A lineage that claims a universal higher cause is extolling virtue? Building a palace on a hill for everyone to see, peasants perform prostrations in that particular direction denotes virtue? Keeping the common person uneducated is virtuous? This particular lineage is well known for feudalism sustaining in Tibet. Appears to be religious authoritarianism.
  21. Buddhist ajna chakra training?

Rancorous? I thoroughly question why this monastic system creates division where none should exist. Secret teachings/levels sustain the patriarchal monastic lineage as opposed to freely giving. That is why the ajna is rarely mentioned. According to Snellgrove all the original tantric Sanskrit texts were lost or destroyed by the monastics after their own uneducated version was written down. Norbu briefly mentions that the ajna is far too intense to focus on and the heart center is the place of practice. I never found the ajna as being problematic.
  22. Buddhist ajna chakra training?

Tibetans will view and feel differently than I regarding the Potala Palace. To me I am not in awe but see the Potala as an autocratic monastic system.
  23. Buddhist ajna chakra training?

I have been through the entire Buddhist trip beginning in 1984 when I read Trungpa's first book. I have received about 70 tantric/Dzogchen transmissions and have been on several solitary retreats of at least two weeks, read most of the texts. Does that mean that I must be in compliance with Tibetan Lamaism and offer no questions or doubt? No! The ethos you refer to is culturally specific. E.g. Tibetan language determines how one thinks and understands.
  24. Buddhist ajna chakra training?

I read that years ago and what I believe is in that same text is that he offered her a plate of human shit and encouraged her to see it as nectar. She ate it.
