WYG, "Can someone point me in the right direction of any books or dvds instructionals on information on daoist immortality meditation practices?" Yes, but understand that there is no one thing that anyone can prescribe for you that is necessarily "right" or best for you. Only you can find this for yourself and for your own path. That is my understanding. With that said, try the Healing Tao stuff if it is calling you. You could try the practices in "Spiritual Qigong" by David Twicken as well (which are HT based and layed out in one book in a simplified manner). You could also do a Google on Zen meditiation and get instruction on that, etc. You could also do yoga, do nothing, etc. "Is the daoist immortality med that embro breathing?" Not from what I understand but hey, everything is posible. "Is there a common meditation practice for Immortality in all daoist practices?" No, there are many approaches and techniques in daoist practices. The historic big split is on using or not using sexual energy. However, I would add (not nessesarily a taoist perspective) that it depends a lot on aones personal deep rooted desire towards this aim or even what is in your life path (astrology, past life stuff, etc). I feel that the path will "appear" so to say when you are ready. If there is something common, it is getting out of your mind and into the mind of Tao. Most people find meditation a great catalyst but there are cases that people haven't even done that. I personally know many people who have come to the same state via very different practices or even lack of pratice. We generally want things to make sense and to be able to be understood in terms of if I do this, this will happen. The spiritual path, ime, is a bit different and is a lot about being able to let go and surrender to Tao and then Tao will lead you. Tao is everything and it can be found in as many ways and places as are imaginable. Best! Matt

Uncontroled body movements during meditation
MatthewQi replied to Bum Grasshopper's topic in General Discussion
Both of these phenomenom are classic to the awakening process. The movements are referred to as kriyas in some traditions. The mosquito feeling or ants crawling is also common. It is the lifeforce or kundalini. You can always ask that it be gentle with you if it is too much. Otherwise surrender into it and let go, nothing to be afraid of but fear itself Sounds like you have a tremendous opportunity for spiritual growth Best! MatthewQi -
x, I know what you are talking about. What the tibetan book of the dead is about as well. You nailed it on the head about the fear too. This is why I only try to surrender and let things be even when I know and want to help people with it. Even when we tell someone about it, they will not know it from experience. Everyone has their own path. And ultimately it is in the hands of Tao. Sometimes your presence is all that is needed. There is a saying that "Those who know, do not speak and those who speak do not know". I have found that naturally there are times to help others in ways that appear at the right time, and it is not of my own mind but the mind of Tao. I used to feel sad, but no longer do becuase I know Tao has it handled. I no longer take on responsibility that is not mine. Perhaps surrender, surrender, surrender... There are people who know what you are talking about and you never know when you are going to connect with them Best! Matt

To ease your comfort, to ease your pain, Know that he (we) will rise again, not into a body, But into the light, that is so bright, Some call it Heaven, some call it Tao, It / we are all there, It is always aware, No reason to be concerned, Nothing to discern, It just is. It is bliss beyond imagination, It is being, It is consciousness, It is the immortal Tao And we are that, I AM, I AM, I AM We all will cross over, either aware or not, To the miracle beyond comprehension Obi Wan, Your loved ones too, Are all there It is everything and no thing, Ohm/Amen Blessed be! Cool! Sounds a bit like what a Zen koan is used for and some other type of practice which I can't remember what it is called but basically exhausts us of thinking until, whala!

Tao is the Source Progenitor. This is the only thing to be concerned with To many aspirants become consumed with the 0,1,2,3 stuff. Don't take my word on this. Put your focus on Tao, follow what comes to you, and develop your own relationship with Tao. Best, MatthewQi

Hi Sean, for the past couple weeks when I come to Taobums the graphics are not loading. The image boxes appear blank with a red X in them. Not sure if I am the only one experiencing this or why this might be? Thanks for any help, Matt
-
taobums_screenshot.docSean, I am attaching a file with a screen shot of what I see... Thanks Harry, I will check that out... Matt

Hi Sean, Yes, all x's except the avatars which are ok. I have fiddled with macaffee but to no avail (although I am not really sure what I am looking for either, lol). I can obviously get on and post so it isn't that bad, just wondered if you knew what was up. No biggy, thanks for looking into it. I will let you know if I can figure it out. Best, Matt
-
Yes, I did have a macaffee upgrade probably around that time the problem started now that you mention it...

Hi Sean! Yes, I am still having this problem. Matt

Hi GT! I have actually met more awakened witches then people from any other tradition. Not sure why that is other than perhaps it is a more prevalent practice here in the US, I don't know. Nothing to be afraid of though. All of the witches that I have met who are awakened are the same as zhen ren taoists (and just wonderful people who I consciously share a common unseen bond with). As you know, I practiced taoist inner alchemy. I don't know much about the tradition of witchcraft other than to say that it leads to the same place that inner alchemy does. At a certain point, everything that brings us to awakening can be seen as having been important to us individually but not what Reality is in itself. We just recognize the same thing in others as we have found in ourselves Best! Matt

Has anyone tried the Theta Meditation System by Jeff Thompson? I have been listening to it and it is really good for relaxing and increasing my ability to handle stress. It uses sound pulses embeded in the music to take you to the theta state of consciousness. Maybe this is the same as the hemi-sync that people were talking about a few years ago? Matt

Thanks for posting, I like him (not sure what is up with the hair pullover, he shoulda been able to accept that being bald as "what is", right? ) It is almost comical as this enlightened guy is just totally enjoying enlightenment as he plays with the unawakened, but knowing at any moment, someone would awaken Anyone know if he taugth any methods or did people awaken by direct transmission by listening to him? Best, Matt

Ironically, after having used the million $ point with big draw for a couple months and then when I ejaculated the day after or so I had many of my deeper spiritual experiences / openings.
-
Well, hmm... In my experience, the million $ point technique works well (with the big draw). Good to consider moving beyond that, but I wouldn't rule it out as a valuable technique. Best! Matt

Just came across this last night... Chia will be in Boston, MA in June: http://www.bostonhealingtao.com/june2007.php

Yes, there is a state where there is just awareness and your thoughts / chatter stops. You can still function in this state and after obtaining it, your mind is generally less cluttered. It then becomes like maintaing a garden. If you don't tend to it, well, you get the picture. What type of practice do you do? Matt

Thanks Sean!! )))))

Thank you! ))))

Who would you like to see go for Lei Shan Dao training in China?
MatthewQi replied to Cameron's topic in General Discussion
You do not need to travel to china to find what is already right under your nose. Regards, Matt
