Does anyone know about the exercises being taught? What are they, what is their function, etc? -
How would one access the wuji dimension? How does it relate (practically) to Taoist Practices. Thanks,

Anyone train with Sher K Lew, past or present. Comments? If so, what sets did you learn?

One thing I think few people are aware of is that development causes warming. Every time a house is build, land is cleared, concrete is poured. This takes away the cooling nature of Nature. When I lived in California and traveled in my open air jeep from Orange county to Oceanside, I passed the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton which has not been developed. The air there was 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Orange County or Oceanside. Just keep putting up those pretty houses with the lovely lawns. Lawns with few plants. That's what does it. I'm buying a house on 5 acres of Scrub Oaks, Palmettos, and pines covering the property. Most would clear it all off for a pretty lawn. I'm keeping it and will add to it with more thick vegetation. Better, cleaner air, natural qi, etc. Just My opinion.

Ya Mu, I was under the impression that it hurts the practitioner/doctor if they use their qi to help heal patients. Could you comment on this and how it's different with Master Wang?

Taiji quan is one of the main three Nei Jia gongs... Taiji, Bagua, and Xingyi... (there are others).. Nei means internal. If you say Qigong in China, most will shy away from you. It has a different meaning that what we think of it as. Before, when FaLun Gong was crushed by the government, there were also others that were suppressed. Qigong in China, for the common man I have found, has a mystical, non-logical connotation where people have been cheated badly in the past. It took me the hard way to figure this out. Are you teaching English in China? Visiting? What are you doing there?
-
hmm... I wouldn't say anything about qigong practice.. What I found is people will either laugh at you or discount the practice of qigong. If you want to say something say "Neigong" practice. This has a different meaning and feeling in China. However, if you can find a Chinese Medical doctor who also practices qigong (which is very difficult to find) you might be able to learn something. I receive herbs in China from a couple of different hospitals. I found it inconvienient to go to the hospitals. It is much easier to see a Chinese herbal doctor in the states than China. IMO. Oh, I would also say, many, if not most Chinese value Western Medicine over Chinese these days. So, be prepared for a bunch of western tests....

Yes, Northern Preying Mantis Tai Mantis and Nei Gong Qigong (many flavors) Bagua, Zhan Zhuang, Nei Gong (learned in China).

Sigh, I miss China.... Hope you are having fun there.

Totally agree.... It is said in Shanghai that of the Internal martial arts, less practice Bagua and of those who practice bagua, few do it well. It's very difficult to find a good teacher.

I say the article was ok. He has some things right but I don't agree with a good portion of it. However, I do Zhan Zhuang for different end results than he. -
Good Qi is infused with Qi.

It felt condescending and arrogant.

My good friend had success with Hep-C using Chinese Herbs. BUT, and this is necessary, she changed her diet drastically to use Steamed or boiled foods, a lot of vegetables, etc. Don't give up on this. If you want your body to heal, first thing to do is Clean and remove stress. Herbs can clean and circulate. Meditation, Taiji, etc can remove stress. Herbs, Diet, eliminate Stress, Exercise.

I like cats better too... Dogs are, well, stupid but lovable (I know, I know, dogs are smart ;-). One of my sister's dog likes to come in my room and have at my cat's "buffet" of cat poo in the litter box. I had to put up a gate so the dogs won't enter. Talk about a Shit Eating Grin on the dog as she's leaving. Then she goes and licks my sister's face..... ha ha ha

I'm sorry guys and gals, I just don't get this. I've been in a spontaneous practice under a teacher before but didn't consider it to be of much value. How does this practice help anything other than relaxation? Please help me understand. Thanks. -
It's the difference between Religion and Spirituality. Excellent Post.

I think part of MTS's problem (if you can call it that) is ppl in China are rarely challenged or debated so he doesn't know how to respond to some of the challenges or responses and also, because of not being challenged, hasn't fully developed critical thinking. So, he responds emotionally when as a Taoist Master should be totally different. IMO
