"The journey of one thousand miles begins with a single step" Lao tzu In my journey i started with taichi and being someone that did not believe in the after life and such. Well slowly i saw that true masters could do incredible things with qi or energy. So i did some research that lead me to different religions and i found taoism. Taoism really resonated with me. I think that it is because of taichi that i have firm belief in the afterlife. It is not something out here but osmething inside you that is where the real stuff is. Just my own belifes but i find reading about death makes it more and more believable that there is something after. So yeah the other night i had a thought if everything is tao then the tao is always laughing at itself, for example if chirstianity if the tao and i think some "rules" set forth by god are laughable it is the tao laughing at the tao. By rules i mean like not wearing an article of clothing made up of two fabrics, if you do your going to hell for all of eternity.

So yeah can you guys think of any fictious charecters that have achived the tao? or mabye some shows that well capture the tao? Lets leave off the big three when naming shows/people Kung fu Avatar the last airbender Star wars The ones i can think of are Aslan The doctor being 900 and some odd years old he has to have achieved something along the lines of tao or something rafiki fudo yusei Hmm cant think of anyone else.

Wow like i tottaly agree i always think of that show seeing your name. i liek the scene when she cuts the computer with a baseball bat.

So um yeah how does sun tzu's art of war compare with taoism the spiritul belifes and other spiritual belifes? Like i have read it and it mostly focuses on war and such could this be seen as an internal war like some people believe arjuna was fighitng in the baghvat gita? Thanks

yes it is very taoist but i like to believe that a person would not kill or start a war beinging a religious person and such.

So um yeah i am in the car with my father and he is somewhat interested in taoism and asked me to explain it well it took me a good 15 minutes to explain it to him but he was getting kind of upset that i could nopt say what it was. So um how would you explain the tao to someone?

so um my uncle sugested to my father to take huang qi. I was wondering what your guyses thoughts were on it. Um my dad asked me and i said that i was not very knowledgeable in herbalism so i would ask around.

So um yeah with reading a couple books and doing some googleing. i have come up with a theory of my own on evolution and animism. Basicaly my theory is this, The Divine made it so life could evolve on this planet and mabye others. so life evolved with animals and such then we evolved from apes. when we were apes or other animals we had a conection with the divine. but when we developed the human stuff we lost our connection to it and we have to do all this spiritual practice in order to reach the connection we lost. So in africa where we started we create some practices what we now call animism to get back our connection to the Divine. My understanding mainstream science supports the basics of my theory. But now i will jump into a part where they dont. Um i believe that aliens and such influenced religion as the years went on in as we got further and further from the source. for example the vimanas of hinduism. but once one gets past all the frufru stuff and sees the core teachings religion is all the same. Feel free to critick this theory and such um but be nice about it ok. Just my theory i could be crasy for all i know. But um how else could one explain all the similaritys between cultures that had no contact with one another. thanks

well i have heard that if one can enter into a trance state one does not need sleep for a while like days but i have only heard about this second hand. For me i dont knowtice a difference with energy practices and sleep. I still sleep my 12-15 hours in a 24 hours period. yes i am being serious i have a condition called narcolepsy where i fall asleep fast and sleep alot. i look at it as the fact that in this life time i am ment to do practices like lucid dream and such. As i was typeing that a thought entered into my mind what if in a past life i did not sleep very much and this life is makeing up for it.

how many spiritual books do you have in your home? when do these become a material thing? basically what i am asking is, see well once i read a book a couple of times i am pretty much done with it cause i feel i have internalised the book. So then i might give it away or sell it or something. Does anyone on here feel the same way as me? or the opposite? With me it is a balancing act, with collecting things or letting them go. i like stuff but i always have to ask myself ok what good is a nicnak sitting around in your house it does not do anything. So then i normally try to give the object unto god or Buddha etc. sometimes this works sometimes not. A very simple practice and you can do this with anything like a flat screen TV at your local bestbuy. But um imagine the item going into your heart center, then is shoots up the sushumna and goes to Buddha or god or wherever. Thanks

Be like water my friend. It does not strive with the opponent it flows around. I have always liked the taobums cause we are not some very rigid forum like some i have been part of in the past. A good example that i hope the taobums never become is form my own life. I got banned from an irc chat room for bad spelling and grammar. So lets just try and do our besty to make this a nice place and not strive with the people.
