  1. Taoist Statues

800 for all of them - someone?
  2. Taoist Statues

Hey Guys, not sure how you feel about stuff being sold on here, if not cool please delete my post and accept my apologies. I have some statues that I have collected, used and its time to pass them on. I had these made my a Singaporean God carver, literally the pics do not do them justice at all. I ended up paying roughly 2k for all of them after shipping so I hope some of you can realize this is a really good deal, I just need to find them a good home whether they are used for worship or decoration they are so beautiful I would like to see them treated properly. Hsuan tien Shang Ti (Xuan Wu) Great lord of the North, Saint of Wudang, Saint of Martiality, reincarnate of Jade Emperor, second in heaven - absolutely stunning, metal 7 star sword, roughly 18" tall Chui Tien Hsuan Nu (Xuan Nu) Great Lady of the Ninth Heaven, teacher to the Yellow Emperor, teacher of all sword skills, great meditator, savior and creator of the modern world, one of the original beings - never human. Tai-i Tien tsun (Taiyi), Great lord of Salvation, before time ruler of heaven, Taoist equivalent to Kuan Yin but higher, Ritual master, guide, master meditator, Lord of the evening star, medical advisor to the Yellow Emperor, Equal only to the Jade Emperor. If interested contact me directly - [email protected], 10% of the sale will go straight to this sight as a contribution. Looking for $400 each, or buy all three for $1000 or make an offer - you will not insult me.
  3. Monks robes and wish me a safe trip.

Yes, its offensive if you are wearing a robe to act as though you are a Taoist Priest. I believe the people whom wear Catholic priest uniforms on Halloween are offensive as well, just go and wear a cop uniform in public and see what happens, it is just the same. Have respect for those whom dedicate their lives to something and respect the uniforms that makes them much like wall paper within their beliefs. Playing dress up is one thing, but thought of grandeur often make people mistake themselves for something that they are not, therefore creating an illusion of superiority and setting back cultivation.
  4. Taoist Canon

The cannon is very vast. Matter of fact the current cannon is just a part of the original cannon, which much of the older cannon has been lost or no one is available to translate. Speaking and reading Chinese is only the beginning, learning form a Taoist is another level to understanding most of the scripture and to learn the inner teachings from a Taoist that is qualified will teach you the secrets or immortal teaching is rare and getting more rare everyday. The problem lies within the White Cloud, where all Orthodox Taoists come from. They are regimented and taught from the government, which many of their teachings are heresy to say the least. I feel bad for modern Taoists due to they will truly never know or experience true Taoism as it was meant to be experienced and practiced. Your best bet would be singapore or Thailand to learn the old ways of Taoism. The scriptures in the cannon are only guides, they are pretty much useless if yoiu do not have someone to help you, matter of fact outside of most of the philosophy books within the cannon most are descriptions of ritual and cultivation practices, more or less notes not learning books. There are many scriptures throughout the cannon that Orthadoxed Taoists deem important, but all Taoists, not minding which sect they are from will agree that the three most important are: 1. Tao Te Ching (not a translation - original with a teacher to explain it) 2. Qing Jing Jing 3. Tai Shang Gan Yin Pian You will truly be enlightened if you are ever given the chance to learn the three main scriptures.
  5. Greetings!

Tao and Taoist are two different things. Taoism is a practice and particular belief system and the "tao" is everything and everywhere, in which everyone even if they do not know it by that name follows it, guides it and is embraced by it.
