Forget about the Dao De Jing. Laozi's alleged oral teachings are where the rubber actually meets the road...
-
I dunno about that, based upon the symptoms more commonly reported. When your qi is full, you have glowing health and lose your appetite (bigu). When your jing is full, you lose sexual urges. Well, I haven't heard of these 2 so much from Kunluners...but more of intense spiritual openings and sometimes sleeplessness (at least initially). So, these would seem to be more indicative of full shen (than full qi or jing). Now, maybe Kunlun is extracting shen directly from the "universal" void (instead of refining it from your own qi)? This could correlate what Max was saying about how he thinks it may draw zero-point (vacuum) energy. Guess that could be another possibility...

I agree, just comparing his pics to 2 MMA stars known for their conditioning (Frank Shamrock & Cung Le), his muscles look bright & inflated while theirs look dull & deflated. Guess that "shiny inflated" look must be due to QI! And very interesting how his are built primarily from qigong! Maybe I need to get his book.. So, what's his diet like then? Is he vegetarian?

Well, a number of things can happen to shen - it can be refined to void...or even recycled back to jing. The question is how exactly to do either, what we "should be" trying to do and what exactly Kunlun is doing? But I guess you'd need 3rd-eye vision to really be able to directly see what's going on...so until then, we're all just theoretically speculating.

They say when your shen is full, you require little sleep. And a few people (including Cameron) have experienced vastly decreased sleep after starting Kunlun. So, I wonder if perhaps Kunlun might rapidly convert qi and/or jing into shen. This could account for the lessened sleep as well as powerful spiritual ecstatic experiences (initially). But these states are usually not sustained and taper off after a few months. And are sometimes then followed by health problems/detoxing. I wonder if this could be due to all the "free" qi or jing getting "burned up" into shen...and then both dieing down as the fuel gets used up. It may perhaps then be important to maintain your jing & qi reserves to assure a continual burn into shen? I dunno...just speculating here. I'm still trying to figure out the whole mechanism of Kunlun (as in what it's actually doing) within the context of traditional neidan. Which it references but doesn't seem entirely contained or explained by.

Your sifu is unusually buff and his physique could easily stack up against top "external" MMA fighters. Is this due to calisthenics, qigong or what? Or does he also do some type of "modern" bodybuilding and use any supplements?

Good point, maybe she is "perineum" pumping up her kundalini? Witch - do you also feel that you gain energy if you simply PC flex...without orgasming, too?

Although her pic was a woodkiller for us guys, I actually would like to see more women here post up guys they find hot/sexy (whether from looks, talent, power or other qualities). So far, it's been mostly guys posting up pics of what they like or assume women like. But, I'm curious to see what types of guys women actually prefer/desire and would actually love to fvck. I recall SereneBlue has remarked about how hot she thought Tao Semko is: And out in the real world, women just can't say no to this guy:

Interesting...so basically you feel you "gain energy" when orgasming from either your G-spot or flexing your PC muscles. Even if there is no man ejaculating jing into you. Sooo...where does the energy come from then? Anyhow, we have been accultured to view sex as a recreational pasttime - which has distorted our view of the whole biomechanism. So, let's look at it from an evo-psych perspective. The "real" evolutionary point of sex is procreation, point-blank. Whereby lifeforce (jing) from the parents is donated to their offspring (instead of used to further augment their own lives). Now, since the woman carries the offspring (egg/fetus), it would make sense if she retains her own jing - and receives the man's jing as well - only to give both to the developing child. So in reality, it's ultimately the BABY (not even the woman, except by association) that gets all the jing. Whereas if she loses jing during sex, then so would the potential offspring - thus defeating the whole evolutionary purpose of sex. And although we do often now perform sex solely recreationally - that does NOT change the original design function of it. Now maybe there could be SKF loopholes to all this and modern hedonists may want to rationalize otherwise, but I think the whole biological of sex is still to create offspring and supply it with both parents' jing by default. Or at the very least to supply the woman with a boost of jing which would then help supply the fetus through 9 months of pregnancy and beyond (during which the male could possibly already be long-gone). Which may be why spiritual traditions have generally stressed either sublimating lifeforce for your own spiritual development or having sex only for procreation. Otherwise, (males) merely having it for fun is "wasting" jing since it is not being used to enhance yourself or your offspring. They weren't being "prudish," but prudent. Anyhow, the proof is in the pudding. So, we should compare people who have cultivated while celibate for years vs those who didn't, and also observe any differences in ourselves when we do either. Less speculation, more actual experimentation!

Most of the supposed health benefits of soy were always marketed for women, not men... So, I would say for men to generally avoid it. Except for maybe some fermented forms like tempeh or miso. (Note - TOFU is precipitated, NOT fermented.) Or small amounts of soy-based seasoning. Otherwise, it appears to do more harm than good - especially for men. If you really want meat subs - I would look for bean or wheat gluten-based products instead. I think avoiding sodium would be far more difficult. Drew, why exactly is sodium bad for neidan? Does it displace potassium or something? And what harm does that do?

Well, showing the feet turned backwards like that is just to show how you should be trying to rotate your legs in your hips...but in practice only a contortionist would be able to actually rotate them back that far. More likely, most people will still just have their feet pointing up towards the ceiling. And yes, I did get it from that video - so why do you think it is so risky? And what stretches would you then recommend to get into lotus? What exactly do you mean by an "inclined inward rotation in the ball and socket joint?" You can also upload pictures on ImageShack and then link them here too. For example, like this:
-
Is that only when with a live male partner, or also if just using a toy? Or what about if with a live male partner who didn't ejac?

Care to elaborate on those other methods and how to do them, please???

Lol, where'd you find that? Tiger Woods's cellphone? Seriously though, go find & get her then, Tiger (sorry, no pun intended)!

Well, Laozi (Li Er) was supposedly a Zhou Dynasty royal court librarian/historian and a contemporary of Confucius. So, he likely wasn't just some mythical figure, although he may have been mythologized somewhat. Regardless, he wasn't really the founder of Taoism anyways - but just wrote a highly-influential, philosophical text about it. "Taoism" itself as a subculture already existed from much older shamanic origins, though. So it's not like Laozi created it all from scratch, even if he truly existed and did author the Dao De Jing.

How and what are you stretching? The key is to do the RIGHT stretch. For full-lotus, that is primarily the "T-STRETCH." The lower core can be very tight and difficult to open (especially as you get older), so be patient. These are some very strong ligaments here. But if you do this stretch daily, you will make slow, but sure progress over time. Certainly, you should see noticeable progress over 6 months, though.

I eat mostly whole & raw foods. Make sure you get a healthy macronutrient (protein, fats & carb) mix. My basic diet consists mostly of nuts, bean protein, fruits & veggies. As far as breatharianism or bigu - the more full your qi is, the less hungry you'll be. So, I believe that QI may actually be the "big enchilada" missing from many fat peoples' "diets!" Due to poor lifestyles and eating overprocessed food products - they are sorely-deprived of qi. Which makes them overeat in search of more. But unfortunately...the denatured food products they are eating contain little of it. So, it only makes them fatter, not more full of qi. Solution then? Eat more "qiful" foods and do qigong! And also walk at least 30 minutes per day.

Practise both dan tien meditation and budhist mindfulness?
gendao replied to Boris's topic in General Discussion
A common overgeneralization is that Buddhists focus on cultivating the mind (essence), while Taoists cultivate both the mind & body, essence & energy... In fact, many Taoist sects incorporated Ch'an Buddhist meditation into their practice. I do that myself too - breathe from the dantian while stopping & emptying my mind. -
I've been celibate for months, and my penis hasn't shrunk. If anything, its tone & circulation have actually increased. Reason why is that meditation/qigong is going to improve your overall health, and your genitals are simply a part of that. Now, if you are concerned about your dick retracting like Buddha's supposedly did...that is only something that may allegedly happen at very high levels of attainment. Levels that frankly, most of us here will never reach. And if you do, you probably will be beyond the realm of sexual desire, anyways... So, you won't really give a fvck. At lower levels though, I don't think that's remotely going to happen. Of course, this is all assuming that you are cultivating while being celibate. Perhaps celibacy alone though might cause some temporary "shrinkage" or atrophy due to non-use?

I really think drewhempel needs his own reality show. Complete with balloon thoughts so he can narrate all the internal action on a subtle level. Seriously, I don't watch TV anymore... But I'd definitely watch this. Hollywood is creatively bankrupt and all recycled horesh!t. Whereas this is the most original stuff I've heard in ages. Dumpster-diving and O@Ds? SERIOUSLY! C'mon Drew - at least a YouTube channel? Humor us.

Basically, you were supposedly commanding, channeling and witnessing healings from "God." And I think it did have some efficacy with me or anyone else that got treated using it. Certainly, I did get a miraculous instant (albeit only temporary) healing on one of my eyes where it snapped to 20/20 and stayed there for about 10 minutes. I think that was arguably the most bizarre thing that's ever happened to me in my entire life so far, btw. HOWEVER, when I woke up the next morning, my poor vision had returned. So, it very unfortunately wasn't permanent. BUT, I do now at least know that it (and perhaps all) things are POSSIBLE due to that experience. Anyhow, then a conspiracy theory arose that we were actually drawing energy from an entity, instead of "God." And that this entity sucked energy back from us the healers (not patients) in return. I really don't know if that's true or not - but decided to play it safe and moved on to more traditional old school qigong methods. End result though is that my eyesight still SUX now and I would REALLY like to cure it both naturally AND permanently! And I know it can be done!

It's certainly an interesting "cultural" exchange. The Chinese get crude insults, the West gets privy to ancient secrets! Anyhow, Kathy has taken the high road and responded to a hateful bigot with kind compassion. I think this says a lot about her and how's she's been taught. Longmen Pai cultivates virtue, not just power. Meanwhile, Niko has not acknowledged the helpful responses from numerous Chinese posters here or offered any apology, much less thanks. Guess it's always easier to ignore any behavior that does not support your own preexisting racial prejudice - than to change that personal prejudice. Every coin has 2 sides. But if you only choose to see the "bad" side (like Niko and many of us at times), then you are intentionally skewing your perception solely to rationalize your own bias. So, who's the real "racist pig" here??? I think he appears to suffer from deep-seated rage issues and may want to look into Freudian projection, confirmation bias & cleansing his liver of anger. Ultimately, it all goes back to YOU. BTW, I have also suggested more translations of the Taoist canon before. However, I consider that a helpful favor, not some rightful entitlement.
