You might try this DEET-free stuff: Natrapel Plus w/Geraniol BTW, a few users complain that the smell is too strong or it stings, but I've never been bothered by any of those. It's never stung me, and it has a flowery plant smell, so I don't find it a bad one...

Astral Dynamics (Revised 2nd Edition) By Robert Bruce
gendao replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in General Discussion
All the classical Taoist alchemical texts are geared towards cultivating the yang shen embryo and vaporizing the mundane body. Just looking at a few I have on hand on my shelf: Taoist Yoga: Alchemy & Immortality - Probably the most detailed how-to book I have. And probably also the most repetitive and obtuse...lol. Cultivating the Energy of Life - Gives a more concise outline of the process and confirmatory signs, but not much in the way of mechanical details... The Tao of Meditation: Way to Enlightenment - An empirical summary of the process briefly in plain English, although with a lot of off-topic commentary. Also includes an interesting cultivation diary by a student that notes various "detoxing" symptoms he experienced, "qi" erections and feeling circulation in his MCO in under 3 months... Personally, I'm finally just starting to see the common process these esoteric books (and others) are all trying to describe now. I don't know of a really clear, modern instructional book today, though. -

Nice, thanks!!! Is there an actual video demo of this somewhere though? And I mean besides the Russian one of David (the Russian dubbing is too distracting for me to follow)?

Interesting, I've been getting the high-frequency tone for the last week or so too. I wonder whatever happened to Pat and his ringing? Cuz I'm curious now... -
It could have to do with transcending the duality of stillness/movement. Which is based upon the concept of motion. Which is entirely relative, and based upon dimensional spacetime. Imagine you were hanging alone in the "middle" of empty space. How could you tell if you were moving or not, if there is nothing else there?

Interesting, I wonder if this might be some type of kundalini effect? So, you have risen your kundalini now (that would be pretty impressive at just age 25!)? You may want to consult JJ Semple on this...

VERY interesting. That could be one reason why CIMA & qigong are all done verryy sloowwllyy...in order to reprogram the fascia and restructure the body. You're essentially melting away tension and re-teaching your body proper alignment and movement. Which is not going to happen if you are moving fast (which only reinforces old, existing patterns).

Absolutely. Why do you think Britain & the Sassoons started the opium trade and wars with China? Britain had racked up such a huge trade deficit with China by the 1800s because they were importing lots of china and other Oriental wares...but didn't really have much desirable goods to sell back in return. Enter opium. Trafficking drugs to China and waging war on them was their way of relieving the trade deficit. The cost to China was astronomical for this. It's estimated that 100 million Chinese perished over 150 years of this state-sponsored drug trafficking. The financial costs were of course staggering as well - including the loss of territories like Hong Kong.

Very cool - what types of neigong & qigong were you doing? And I've heard that opening the MCO can enable iron body, etc. So, I wouldn't doubt if it has made you far more physically robust now. In fact, that's probably a good sign that yours has opened.

Awesome! Could you share some details of how you knew you opened it (confirmatory signs) and what practices you used (and for how long) to do so? -
Ha, ya anyone who assumes that women necessarily make more peaceful, mature rulers hasn't studied Chinese history... The other empress, Qing Empress Dowager Cixi...pulled back China's great Ming Dynasty naval explorations (led by the legendary Zheng He) and blew lots of money on ridiculous pork like ornamental marble steamboats, instead. In fact, many of China's secret societies started with the goal of overthrowing the foreign Manchurian Qing Dynasty to restore the native Ming Dynasty. Although that obviously never exactly happened, a byproduct was a late "Golden Age" of martial arts spurred by underground groups of "boxer rebels" training themselves for combat against various foreign invaders and imperialists.

I think we need a Constitutional Amendment that BANS deficit spending and sets a VERY small cap on allowing any minimal national debt...during emergencies only. Although ideally, we should have reserves for that. After which, if people want more government programs and services, they will simply have to get their act together, produce more and thus increase tax revenue. All politicians will have to work within these boundaries. You live within your means, period. End of story. Whereas right now, it's like giving a 5-yo Daddy's credit card.

Just a stab in the dark here...but from a ThetaHealing perspective, these tangled situations are VERY typical and always contain a lot of lessons for yourself. Life is all about learning. And ultimately, most of these issues boil down to our relationship with God. For example, the way you view Bob, could be the way you subconsciously feel God views you. Perhaps you feel unworthy and unqualified for the position and power you've been given (by God). Whatever the case, once you change these underlying beliefs, you will soon notice the change in yourself and your life. But if not, you will likely just keep seeing the same pattern repeat itself in your life...until you do. We are the common denominator in all our relationships. And thus have the power to change them (or attract new ones). Good luck, buddy!

Seriously, why are we $10 trillion in debt now? Because nobody ever votes for any politicians who promise to cut spending. That's career suicide for any politician. Imagine if a school was democratic. Hey kids...so who wants homework & tests? NOOOOOOO!!!! Ok, guess not. Recess! Meanwhile, while China's dictators can be harsh & oppressive, at least China is actually solvent with RESERVES. The precise reason being that the people there are NOT allowed to vote otherwise! Which is not to say there is not still tons of corrupt pork there, but at least they just live low to "pay" for it.

Actually, the Chinese Civil War in the 20s was between the "democratic" KMT and the Communists. The KMT lost and fled to Taiwan, where they have since established their "democracy." Not to mention Tiananmen Square in 1989. I think they've made some truly valiant efforts, but have not quite reached the tipping point or critical mass yet... In the end though, dictatorship can take various forms. One is with an actual ruthless (or benevolent) dictator. The other is with dictatorship by the majority - which could mean either the powerful Bernaysian elites who mind-control public opinion or the fast-breeding, lowest common denominator underclass of a "democracy" who get the most votes. Or a combination of the 2 - a brainwashed underclass. Since China still has a majority of impoverished, poorly-educated "nongmin" farmers...the fear for a democracy there is thus a nation and policies driven by naive peasants. After all, it was these same "naive" peasants who were seduced by and ushered in Mao to begin with! Similar to the emerging problem in the US - of a nation driven by the most rapidly-growing, "childlike" welfare class who keep pushing for a parental Orwellian police state. I also think that the US has oversimplified politics to making democracy some magic bullet. Like it is the end-all goal of any society. Remember the extreme pride ths US took in de-Communizing Russia? Well, what's funny is how they refused to publicize any of the aftermath - a country plunged into chaos by mafia rule, lol. Where in the meantime, China has actually surpassed Russia in building a more solid infrastructure and industrial base. Of course, this was more due to their 1-child BC policy, extreme work ethic, homogeneous collectivism, explosive entrepreneurial spirit and unencumbered free market capitalism, than anything else... But point being: A democracy is only as good (or bad) as its lowest common denominator. A dictatorship is only as good (or bad) as its dictator. I of course, still prefer the former, but hypothetically a benevolent dictator could be "better" than a selfish, ignorant majority. Especially in cases where they make hard calls that are good for the state, but nobody would actually vote for. Like say, cutting pork and only spending what you can actually afford... Anyhow, I find the average American and Chinese to both be politically-illiterate. There, the news is state-censored. Here, it is simply distorted by the tiny handful of media moguls who own it all, and their narrow agenda. Not to mention, most people are more interested in "cake & circuses" than politics, anyways...

What is Buddhic enlightenment? Can it be transmitted or verified externally? Also, how is it different from kundalini awakening?

There's already been several threads discussing the politics of Tibet, feel free to grave dig them up : Tibet & Darfur Vs Gaza & Congo double standard Does the US want to free or use Tibet? Tibet = strategic location for a US military base? The main problem I have with Western criticism of China is gross hyperbolization and ridonkulous double-standards*. Also, the unflinching focus only on negative aspects of China, whilst ignoring all the good progress, comes down to straight playa-hating. This ugly attitude was most glaringly visible during CBS's coverage of the recent Beijing Olympics. * - Why is China known in the US primarily for human rights abuses, when those in Africa and Israel are faaarrrrrr worse? But Africa is coddled with sympathy and showered with celebrity pleas for charity here, totalling trillions over the last 50 years... And Israel is repeatedly promoted as our "great friend and ally?" - Why was China so harshly condemned in the recent Tibetan riots (where only a handful on both sides died), but when Israel killed 1000 in Gaza living under their racial apartheid, not much was said? - Why was racial apartheid in South Africa condemned, but supported in Israel? - Why is Chinese colonialism in Tibet condemned, but far more brutal Israeli colonialism in Palestine supported? - Why hasn't the US been condemned for human rights abuses for killing a million Iraqis since 2003? - Why hasn't African-on-African violence racking up a 5 million body count in the Congo alone been condemned, while Darfur was widely-publicized with just a few hundred thousand deaths by comparison (and mostly due to climate change) harshly scapegoated on African Muslims and Chinese? You all seeing the real underlying political agenda here, yet? How the US's "humanitarian concerns" are really just propaganda smokescreens for the global chess match that they're really playing? -
Lightening her hair must be a byproduct of enlightenment. Not to mention, that and her funny hats give her a snazzy Power Rangers look too: Has anyone studied with Sri Gary Olsen? I actually like his "commandments":

US Health Care - Propose a solution in accord with Tao
gendao replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
I agree, but that was more just in jest. Fact is that California prides itself on giving a lot of benefits to everybody, especially special interest groups. Unfortunately, they don't pride themselves on actually paying for all these extended benefits. I guess it's easy to be "charitable" when you're giving away somebody else's money. Hence, they went to Congress to ask out-of-state taxpayers to fund their overspending, many from solvent conservative states whose values they regularly impugn. As you say though, fair competition is what breeds performance and high value. So, any system that removes such competition is programmed to fail. -

Hollywood liberals are all about freedom without responsibility and buying what they can't afford. Ergo, California has the largest debt of any state. "Interestingly," liberal states in general are the highest in debt. Conservative states the least. So of course Hollywood wants a public option...so YOU can pay for THEM! Let's face it, all those coke habits & plastic surgery ain't cheap! -
I "mentally" tuned in around 11:20 last night. I think it was at the tail end or already over, but I saw what looked like a tornado of white silk. I think I'm going to try to make the next one if I can.
