winpro07 - What is BPI? Ok, here's one account of Chunyi Lin: Still haven't found the original quote where he said both Chunyi Lin & Wang Liping saw this, though... Sure sounds like a pretty consistent, high-level sign, though! You remember what post you said that in, Drew?

Qigong and energy work and yoga and stuff shorten your life span
gendao replied to Teddy's topic in General Discussion
Good question. I've noticed this about a number of Taijiquan style founders, who died relatively young. Although others also lived quite long.. And don't forget about: Grandmaster Choa Kok Sui, founder of Pranic Healing, who died of pneumonia at age 55 & one of his teachers, Sahajanada, who died of cancer at age 48. Of course, I also know qigong healers who have retarded aging and are living long and very robustly. So, given these mixed results, I think there's simply other variables and factors at play here. For example, maybe some of these healers hadn't learned to transmute sick qi yet? Or martial artists wasted too much qi doing fajings or sex? Or other things not so directly related to qigong? It may be that qigong can amplify things - as it seems that a number of qigong "masters" may end up with unusually short or long lives. This may imply that it could have a powerful effect on lifespan and health...albeit it could conceivably be one way or the other, depending on your situation and practice, I presume? -
Wow, awesome story! Can't wait to hear more from you.. I think it'd also be reallly cool if various students and others could compile a book of such anecdotes about Master WLP to share with the world.

Disturbing Dream....Embarrassment and Inadaquacy
gendao replied to CarsonZi's topic in General Discussion
I effectively had the same problem as you and this guy. Painfully shy and insecure with hella lot of social anxiety. But, I finally cracked the code this past June! The underlying problem is attempting to base your self-esteem and self-worth on anything other than your Divine heritage and relationship with God. I think of it as a Divine flame or spark. Something that we actually ALL have, and have in common with each other... Yet most of us have overlooked. And so we try really hard to prove ourselves worthy to others (as a proxy for God), by becoming really good at "X." Problem is that that's a no-win situation. Because whether you become good at or suck a "X," people are still only liking or disliking you for "X," and not YOU. This is why many celebrities still get depressed even after attaining mass popularity... But once I based my basic sense of self-worth and connection with others on a shared foundation of Divine heritage, all my deep sense of inadequacy or ostracization suddenly disappeared. Because I now know that no matter WHAT I do in life, I am still WORTHY as a part of God...as is everyone else. We're all no better or worse than each other. And that we all at least have THAT in common, no matter what - which is NOT dependent upon any external validation or various successes or failures in life. Once you establish this strong base foundation, everything else on top of that is gravy! Anyhow, that's the big picture. I am also constantly troubleshooting and reprogramming myself because there's an almost endless amount of issues for us to clear from this lifetime and many others... -
US Health Care - Propose a solution in accord with Tao
gendao replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
There has to be financial incentives for maintaining good health and disincentives for maintaining poor health. People who maintain good health should pay LESS than (through a lower initial rate or refunds) than those with poor health. People should NOT be forced to all pay the same amount (or some even for free) - regardless of vastly different health, lifestyles and behaviors. And I believe holistic care should be covered (at least partially) by insurance. Of course, this is going to require an entire paradigm shift*, first... Right now, I am forced to pay for all my holistic care 100% out-of-pocket, even that's all I primarily use. So, insurance is of little use to me, except as a safety net in the event of a catastrophic emergency. But, people should view health care insurance as a back-up plan, anyways. Your real health insurance is your own lifestyle and self-maintenance. When that goes down the tubes, being "covered' and having dollars and pills thrown after the fact are not necessarily going to fix the problem, in reality. Point being, people shouldn't RELY upon insurance and health care to keep themselves healthy. That's a false sense of security. * Natural, holistic methods can be cheaper, safer and more effective than synthetic, pharmaceutical medicine. However, they can be harder to test consistently...and also far less profitable since they are often unpatentable. Therefore, who is going to spend the tens of millions it takes to get a holistic remedy through Stage IV clinical testing??? I believe this is where enough grass-roots studies and support could justify Federal funding. I mean, if we can spend $700 billion on corporate Bailouts and $80 million/month on a wild goose chase in Iraq...surely we could better appropriate such funding for our citizens' health? And on an investment that could actually save us billions down the road... But until holistic therapies can get legitimized through clinical testing or more studies...I doubt they will get covered by insurance more...and we will just keep marching down the very expensive, profit-driven path away from natural & real healing. And that path leads to spiraling costs that nobody can really afford, with often limited results. -
No offense, but if it's not a preacher's "job" to prove Jesus's existence to "non-believers," then whose job is it?

What's the story with the 5 Tibetan Rites?

Very cool, how do you do that test? Thanks Santi! And do you know why this pose supposedly is so powerful and anti-aging? Just curious... -

Please do! Like...do you do it with your back flat on the floor, with a cushion, etc? And what's the proper energetic technique here? -
My personal opinion as of late: God doesn't punish us, we punish ourselves. God only wants us to learn. "Mistakes" are only lessons to be learned. Although we don't have to learn only by mistakes, either. We just learn by solving problems - like in math class. Which aren't necessarily "things gone wrong," But more like challenges or riddles to be solved. I accept Jesus as an avatar of undying compassion & unconditional love. But through the heart, not the mind. If you study "Christianity" cerebrally, You will only chase wild geese in illogical circles! Through a twisted maze and distorted inkblot, Seeing only whatever you want to see.

women must learn to redirect their orgams too
gendao replied to smartgirl093's topic in General Discussion
Color me skeptical, but if this were the case, wouldn't female porn stars and "sluts" who are getting cummed in all the time then be the most energetically-powerful women of all? They should all be quite awakened with siddhic and healing powers, no? Yet clearly, I don't think they are...so where's the proof for this theory? -

A bit 1-sided on some of those, but great list! -
IMO, yes. I think forcing lotus will only make progress realllly slow, and could even be damaging to your joints/circulation. So, I think stretching is a much quicker and safer route to get there. However, the key here is not just doing the splits alone. Having your legs splayed out does help you rotate them in your sockets (as opposed to if they were together out in front of you - which would then only stretch your lower back & hamstrings). But doing the splits alone probably won't help you much - if you don't also bend forward. However, with this stretch, you can rotate your femurs in your hip sockets AND stretch out your lower back & hamstrings. Again, the modifications I do are trying to point my toes back to maximize the femur rotation - and I'll also bring my hands to the inner edge of my feet to help push myself down further (and push my toes back) - instead of only holding them out in front. If you can get your chin and a bit more to the floor, I think half lotus will become fairly comfortable for an hour. Not sure how far down you have to get to make full lotus comfortable for an hour (chest to floor?)...but I'll let you know when I get there!

F***, you're a beast Drew! Like 5K's for running, they should have 5Hrs for meditating, lol... So, did you ever have to do stretches to work up to full lotus?
-
Yea, although I think the basic method is unisex, and will still work for both genders (not solely men).

question about nonduality and sex
gendao replied to Old Man Contradiction's topic in General Discussion
LMFAO, I think that's the best line I've ever read on here.. Anyhow, can you clarify this male electromagnetic vs female electrochemical energy? So, the male produces energy electromagnetically (like electricity from an electromagnetic generator) and the female electrochemically (like electricity from a battery)? Are these energy forms still the same then (like electricity), just generated differently? Or are they also inherently different, like yin & yang qi? -
Wow, that's some FANTASTIC beliefs there! I've been coming upon several of these myself, lately...

Me too, I suffered with it for my whole life since I was born. Finally, I did some soul-searching about it and cracked my code at the end of June. My life has really changed now, my world is becoming my stage... And I am just so much happier to have gotten over this Achilles' Heel! So, if you want a real, permanent solution - the answer won't be found externally in any pills or herbs. Only your own personal history and Self. This is the real meaning of neigong, no?

Well, that dude is also sitting on a rock, and you can even see the rock digging into his shin. What ridiculous things people will do for a cool photo op, lol. Bet he couldn't hold that actual pose there for more than 2 minutes... Anyhow, if your hamstrings and hip sockets are tight, it will be hard to keep your lower back vertical - and it will take ab tension to do so. What you need to do is be able to rotate your legs "backwards" in your hip sockets. So, the best stretch for full lotus is probably the wide leg stretch. (For our purposes, she should also be working on counter-rotating her toes back too.) The closer you can get your torso flat to the ground, the less pressure will you have on your legs in full lotus. I've been doing this for a month & a half now, and it's made half lotus far more bearable now - taking a lot of pressure off my knees, thighs & ankles (where it doesn't belong). I can see it being a very comfortable, structurally-optimized pose, ONCE you get the hip & hamstring flexibility so there's little to no pressure...

Interesting, I heard something happens to your tailbone when your MCO opens. What exactly do you mean when you say your tailbone "split?"
