Well, I guess you can also say that Taoists do ultimately seek the wuji void...but would you agree that they tend to focus on a lot of mechanical energetic methods to attain it? Hence, you have "immortal Taoists" vs "enlightened Buddhas" as the respective role models in each pantheon. Or if not, how would you "reduce" Chinese Taoism & Buddhism - in terms of endgames and means to those ends? Do they both have the same ultimate goal, just different methods? Or would you say their endgames themselves are also slightly different?
-
Yea, that is my opinion, too. To grossly reduce... Taoists tend to pursue energy. Zen Buddhists seek emptiness. But the Zen Buddhist path of dropping the mind and releasing egoic attachments can actually increase one's access to energy immensely. While the mechanical Taoist methods of developing energetic power and transformation can aid greatly in clearing mental and emotional blocks and attachments. I think this is why Jenny Lamb "converted" to Buddhism after a good run in Taoism. That was probably the other half she needed..

Attention! Letter From David Verdesi Regarding Wang Liping
gendao replied to r.w.smith's topic in General Discussion
Youch, this is getting ugly.. It appears that when DV was selling high-priced tickets to his WLP exhibit, he couldn't hype him up enough... But after WLP refused his services as exclusive liaison to the world for exorbitant fees, now he's just a "Commy puppet." Now, he might have some points that WLP's students don't live up to WLP's own level, but that would hold true in many, if not nearly all traditions... I think this is where Buddhist ethics and detachment serve well to counterbalance Taoist tendencies towards an egoic desire for power. -
Interesting brain trivia:

Great to hear a blast from the past here. I would love to hear more about your experience with him. Does he live up to his immense hype as a modern, "fully-walk-thru-walls-enlightened" Taoist immortal? Or what "level" would you describe him at? What's it like to be in his presence? What types of personal breakthroughs and realizations did you make, if any? How long did you study with him and what types of things did you learn - anything really new to you? Do you feel like he straightened and clarified your path? And could he beat "John Chang" arm-wrestling? Ok, sorry if that was too many questions or too sophomoric. But, can't hurt to ask...lol? -
Or take 2 animation series and alternate their frames one after another - to effectively splice 2 movies together - and see which one you see when you play it back?

Cool, what kind of qigong did you do - and for how long per day? Also, I would not advise bringing more yang energy to your head. More likely, you are already too much in your head and burning your hair out. With weak or dry kidneys, you simply don't have enough water coolant to "water your lawn" on your head...or "grow wood" down below. So, this is like a dry lawn burning to a crisp in the hot sun. You probably need more yin water, not yang fire in your system. Something I need to figure out though is how to replenish yin water and kidney jing? Anybody know?

Abdominal blockage may be an energetic blockage. Typically this could be from childhood trauma, similar to JAK's boyfriend. You could also have energetic blockages in your root/sexual chakras. Particularly if you get cold feet, which could indicate energy cut off from your legs at your root.. You may also have kidney and liver blockages or weakness. Anger is associated with the liver and willpower (force) with the kidneys. Also, the kidneys store jing (lifeforce), which can be used for alchemy or sex - as well as supporting bone & hair growth.. So, my (totally) rough guess right now would be to resolve underlying issues to release your blockage(s) to restore circulation and replenish and strengthen your kidneys and liver. Also be sure to get plentiful sleep in the dark early.

Yap, just as I suspected...a spiritual/emotional cause - rather than physical - from earlier years. Good job, proper diagnosis is at least half the battle. If not often most of it. Hopefully, that is the root cause or a big chunk of it...

Well, I think there is a generation gap here and 51-yo David Greenberg is a product of his outdated times - the male guilt-ridden, "superior female" feminist 70s. Although, there may still be some good sexual energetic stuff in his courses, from what I hear... But, I'm not sure his overall approach would work on young women today - who tend to be teenage bad boys trapped in female bodies (the Britney Spears/Lindsay Lohan/Paris Hilton archetype). And also anything but spiritual. In fact, a number of young women I've talked to over the past year get freaked out by any spiritual talk, and are far more obsessed with celeb gossip and video games. True story. Well, the proof is in the pudding and I'd like to see the type of women he has relationships with today? Who is this guy dating/married to right now?

Cool thanks, sounds like the full moon water ritual... Might be a good time to try this whole moon water thing out!

BINGO! Anyhow, you can clear that association out and replace it with something more positive. Because I'm sure that what you really want is a faithful guy, not a guy with a low libido. Which are not necessarily synonymous. Your man may have some similar issues, but possibly stemming back to earlier years or even "past lives," given that he is apparently not aware of any obvious events that could have caused the dip. You might try seeing a ThetaHealer or other good intuitive energetic healer who can dig out these types of subconscious issues & blocks...

Yea, diagnosis can be like a detective case... Logically, what you want to look for is patterns to help ID the common denominator/root cause. Obviously, he has a pattern here, which could be due to a variety of causes from spiritual to xenoestrogens... Although due to his younger age and fact that when he does get the urge, he functions fine...I would lean towards a spiritual/emotional cause - rather than physical. But, might JAK have a pattern as well? Remember, we are the common denominator in all our relationships. So, if she consistently finds herself subconsciously attracting "low-driven" men in relationships, it could represent a reflection of something internal. Perhaps she has a fear of losing control from a high sex drive - whether it's her own or her man's. Perhaps in a "past life," she was cheated on repeatedly by a guy with a high libido. So now she would rather have one with a "safe" low libido than a high one. But if this is not a pattern for her, then I guess the problem would lie primarily with him...

Ah, thanks a lot for the great info! Sounds like this one will be a real blast, with a nice exchange rate too. But, I'll be at Kathy's last-minute LMP workshop this month now, so I guess will just go for your June one as I had originally "felt." Let me know if there's anyone I can hitch a ride with to and from SGF airport - I would be happy to chip in for gas and any extra for the inconvenience... Now, if more of these cool workshops were just in TX, dammit...! -
Vajrasattva/Santiago do you or would you offer a class just on tummo, not KAP etc?

Ha ha, don't know why Kathy didn't post this yet...but just to clarify: Uh, Wang Liping is NOT going to be there!!! Repeat, "Elvis" will not be in this building! Although this will still be a very cool & much more accessible opportunity for us Statesiders, and I will be there...at the risk of becoming a workshop junky. -
Tensing up physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically... When a health issue crosses the boundary from "casual" to "uhh...WTF?!" - it is natural to start panicking and extrapolating all the worst-case scenarios. But fear constricts possibilities to a dark tunnel, like it does our meridians, exacerbating the blockages. And no matter how bad the situation really is or isn't, adding fear on top sure never helps. Anyhow, it sounds like what's happened is that you turned on the faucet before the hose was cleared. As a result, the water pressure is doing all the heavy clearing, which can be a rough ride. This is a common symptom of ascension processes, and maybe almost unavoidable. Here's an interesting talk on the "Dark Night of the Soul" and "kundalini syndrome," btw... So again, I would suggest 2 things: 1) Find some good healing to directly fix the problem. I firmly believe that knowing good healers and also self-healing is an indispensible asset in ascension work. Because chances are, you may likely need them at some point. 2) In the meantime, try to relax and ride it out as calmly as possible, to avoid exacerbating the situation. Remain the eye in the storm. 3) If all else fails, cry out in sincere desperation to God. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
-
Giving into the fear response and tensing up is natural...but will likely only make things worse. Try to relax through the block. That alone may not fix it, but it at least may not exacerbate it. Then find a qualified energetic healer and get some help. It may not hurt to see an MD, but they probably won't know what to make of energetic problems... Maybe also move this to the Healing Circle.

Ah thanks, I was looking up the wrong airport (ONT)! Doh. So really, we would be flying into YYZ. RIght now, that still costs about $100 more for me than SGF. And I also called that hotel for the special discount, but could only get to their voicemail. But from their posted rates at least, ~$100/night seemed about their cheapest. So, probably about $60 more than the Springfield motel per night, as it stands now. So, I guess I'm still sorta leaning towards the Springfield workshop then, as it could be about $300 cheaper for me. Unless someone might want to split a room in Toronto? But the only problem with Springfield being the 2.5 hr drive from the airport and if I can hitch a ride or not? Hmm, sorry for the delay, I will try to decide soon. Just weighing all the logistics here... -

That's actually not true. Radiation poisoning wasn't fully understood yet in the mid-40s when the bombs were dropped...but there were certainly already more than "inklings" that they could pose serious health risks. Ergo, radium was already pulled from the shelves in the 30s.

I watched the first half, but it all seemed irrelevant to the basic question of whether ANY nuclear warfare is justified or not? Anyhow, now you know why Obama relies on a teleprompter like a crutch. eDJSVPAx8xc eKgPY1adc0A Go3JEfW4r24 Funny how reality is becoming more like scripted TV, and TV is becoming more "reality."
