Yes, and actually Max does teach that kriyas are not the goal, just purification. Later on, you can internalize it more and then feel even less as you go into the void... Anyhow, nice quote from WLP to help put things into a bigger context. I remember reading that passage, too.

Cool, will do. Well, flights into ONT seem over $100 more than flights into SGF. So, it'd be more convenient, but possibly pricier too. Although, hopefully there's some students from Springfield that one could carpool with... So, what time will the daily schedules be for the 3 days? Namely, so I know when exactly I could schedule arrival and departure? -
There's a workshop coming up in May next - anyone here going?

Most ling kong jing demos require consent and compliance - similar to with hypnosis, channeling or kriyas... The point is not that anyone can be controlled like a puppet against their will (they can't), but that energy and intent can be exerted over a distance to influence people, if they choose to allow it. It's a display of consensual remote influence, not nonconsensual remote control. That said, any master who has enough ability to project energy like this...most likely has a "cotton-wrapped steel" iron body that would feel very hard & strong upon actual physical contact. I think people usually get the wrong impression from these demos, but the right impression may be less, but still pretty impressive!

This brings up the bigger existential question of: How do we REALLLY KNOW anything in life??? I mean, is there really any foolproof method of verification? That leaves no room for any possible illusion? And is there even an ultimate, absolute, objective reality to objectively know?

Need Advice On Starting A Taoist/Buddhist Center/Group.
gendao replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in General Discussion
I think more Taoist/Buddhist centers would be GREAT! Every small town is cluster-fuct with churches. They got very nice and plentiful spaces to do any sort of organized activity. But you could probably count the number of Taoist centers on one hand in this entire continent. Which amounts to a Microsoft-like monopoly on spirituality in this country. If anyone wants to explore Taoism locally, they would be lucky to even meet another Taoist within 20 miles. So, I think you have a good idea and I wish you much luck and success with it! Not to say it would be easy...but good. -
Uh sorry, RT - no offense intended. Anyhow, I took the liberty of renaming all your files from Wade-Giles to modernized pinyin and UL'd them here. This should be the most current, complete set as of today. Although always subject to change (and I will not be updating it). I just UL'd this as a courtesy copy for anyone who wants it right now. But for the official set, I would DL whatever RT posts up next...

Philosophical Taoism may be a good start, but merely learning about is a world of difference from actually doing it. That's where the actual alchemical texts come in...but which are largely ignored in pop Taoism here. It's like reading restaurant reviews vs getting some recipes and actually cooking something up yourself. One is largely mental masturbation, the other is something tangible.

I want to spend the rest of my life meditating and training in neikung

Tease! Any hints? As in Buddhist, Taoist, etc? -
Of course, this whole site began as an "exodus" from Mantak Chia's Healing Dao system. And before 2007 on here, Bodri's White Skeleton Meditation appeared quite popular. Then, we also had "John Chang's" Mo Pai & Wang Liping's Longmen Pai stirring some interest, more recently (see David Verdesi & Sean Denty). And now Santi's KAP, as well. Not to mention Drunvalo's Flower of Life and many other assorted methods! It does seem like there is always something new every few months. So, who knows what might pop up next?

AWESOME reply, man! +5 So, xing cultivation would typically include Buddhist mental cultivation (see 5 here). While ming cultivation would typically include Taoist bodily cultivation. And would this split also apply somewhat within Taoism to the pre-Song, heavenly jindan "shen-qi-jing-void" approach vs post-Song, humanly neidan "jing-qi-shen-void" approach? BTW, this is rather confusing, because Lu Dongbin's Jin Dan Jiao (School of the Golden Elixir of Life) explains jindan, yet apparently his other teachings popularized neidan? So, although he knew both, he was apparently the turning point from one to the other during the Song Dynasty? It is our instinctive nature to move away from pain towards pleasure. A carrot and a stick keeps a mule moving twice as fast. But, what if there was no Heaven or Hell? Then we'd be happiest where we're at enjoying the dramatic contrast between both. And maybe that's why we're here. -
The "master cell" is supposedly in the pineal gland, to which all other cells are "slave" to. Not sure if this is the same as the first cell, though. Or if that is the same as the germinal vesicle? And Drunvalo also talks about the first cell...although I can't remember where he said it was located in the body (if he did).. Anyone know?

I finally experienced just "being in the NOW," when Dionne "cut my head off" a few hours ago today... The mind is a dirty lens through which we view reality. It is like a filter with our past baggage and hypothetical future embedded in it that taints this view. So, everytime you look through the lens of your mind, you are not only seeing the now, but also carrying your past and logically-extrapolated future along with it. Release the mind, take off the lens and you will then see the NOW in its untainted glory. You will no longer be limited to seeing only what you already understand, but open to all possibilities within the Great Mystery... So, off with your heads! When you have NO MIND, You know nothing, Yet can realize everything.

What exactly does a tigle look like in real life? As in size, shape and color? Also, are you supposed to see all these with your eyes open or closed?

Just to add to the dietary discussion though, fructose (namely in soft drinks sweetened with HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP) have also been linked to gout: This is in addition to purine-containing foods, alcohol & lead.

Can you assess our qualification to take the 3rd day remotely over the phone, or is it something you prefer to wait to do in person? -
Wow, these are AWESOME! THANKS Rootless Traveler!!! Here's the only I still can't get since it hasn't been re-UL'd: Could someone please re-UL this to mediafire? Thanks!
-
Cool, 123 MB's not that big. Would you mind ULing it to mediafire, badongo or one of the other sites here? I don't have eMule cuz I've heard it's a less-secure torrent site. I typically use uTorrent instead. Thanks! And few more new files here too, just to keep the list updated: Maybe someone can also add these 2 to the master compilation ZIP file and UL it?
-
Just some random points and thoughts to consider on the topic: - If spirituality and enlightenment are free like air, then why are you even looking for a teacher to give it to you? Can't you just tap into it freely yourself? - Who is more attached to money? He who charges, or he who refuses to pay a cent? - Who ultimately pays for the teacher who spends all his time teaching freely? If his students don't pay, doesn't that just pass the buck down eventually to others who will? The few students I know who are "too spiritual" to work a job - end up "leeching" off those who aren't. To me, that is just not sustainable. That model essentially requires over-unity perpetual motion generators, which we "haven't discovered" yet... - What is more balanced and sustainable for everyone - free trade or fair trade?
-
Wow, awesome! But could you or someone else please re-UL those to one of the other sites listed...or badongo (links good until inactive for 30 days)? Oh wait, I see some already have.. Thanks - does that include all the aforementioned texts? So, this torrent contains all the files listed above? Do you have an actual torrent link for that? Yea, I'd rather just DL everything in one ZIP file at once, if possible.

Ha, it was good enough for me!
