Stillness-Movement & Medical Qigong Workshop March 21,22,23
gendao replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
Oh please, as if a plane ride and a 2.5 hr drive isn't already waaayyy more difficult than a mere 1 mile hike! Trust me, that's already more than enough to scare any casual seekers off! Cool thanks for all the helpful info! So, looks like the KUNO/UNO municipal airport isn't really in use for large commercial flights. The Springfield airport then is SGF. But at just a week & a half out, airfares are $800-$1000 for me. Uh, looks like this is not a good time for me right now then, unfortunately.. I'm definitely still interested, though. I just got too busy and fell behind the curve on this one, and your locale may take a bit more logistical planning to get to. So, HOPEFULLY, you will decide to hold some more shops though...for some reason June sounds good for me. -
Interesting, I'm a Libertarian/conservative corner centrist. Basically, I think I'm a "realistic Libertarian." I don't think most people are responsible enough to handle full individual responsibility - and the rest of us taxpayers will end up bailing them out anyways when they screw up. Like if they abuse drugs, they will suffer more health problems - whose cost then inevitably gets redistributed back to the rest of us. Therefore, we deserve some say in giving them some guidelines in lifestyle & behavior to help prevent that. Now, if everyone truly reaped whatever they sowed in life on their own and were held fully accountable, then I could go full Libertarian. But, I know it never works out that way in real life (see recent Federal Bailout that sticks US with the tab for under-regulated bankster excesses and irresponsible homebuyers...). The more responsible always get stuck cleaning up the messes of the less responsible, whether we like it or not. So, we need some protection against the "idiots."

I just got his book along with Ya Mu's... Haven't had time to skim but a few parts yet, but I'm always a sucka for guys who can demystify the mystical into plain English and reinterpret content into a modern context. To me, that actually demonstrates a deeper level of understanding. It seems like a cool read so far, at least...

Fred Hughes is partnered with Dr. Robert Dowling - and they both believe that dental pathology, particularly root canals, are one of the roots of cancer. Essentially, our mouths are breeding grounds for germs - which can then fester and enter our bodies through breached openings there. Over time, this sub-sepsis can contribute to cancer, heart disease, Parkinson's disease, etc. Ergo, these subclinical infections can be seen as hot spots via thermal imaging - and potential cancers can be detected even 10 years in advance.. Anyhow, I think root canals are a bad fix to a worse situation. Not sure what the alternatives at this point are, though. I did read somewhere that someone was able to rid their infection prior to a planned root canal by swishing with Listerine or something...so maybe doing some strong oral disinfection protocol might help (I would probably use Listerine as a later resort, in favor of other natural remedies first, though). But doing nothing and just allowing the infection to worsen is also a really bad idea too. Good luck!

Yea, I have to agree, too often "clever" flippant replies are used to imply deeper understanding, when really they are just cop-outs... If you really understand something, you should be able to explain it very clearly and concisely in concrete terms.

Fantastic quote! I may have to quote you on that later, or is that a preexisting quote?

Wow, enlightened at 16??? And actually, that's not a bad itinerary simply from a sightseeing perspective: Wudang Shan Jiuzhaigou Emei Shan All places still on my long "to see" list in China... -

Stillness-Movement & Medical Qigong Workshop March 21,22,23

Ya Mu - I am thinking about taking your workshop, but it is coming up fast...and this month will be pretty busy for me. Do you know when the next one you're going to hold will be? And a few logistical questions: 1) What airport would we fly into - UNO/KUNO? Or do people normally fly into a bigger one (MCI, SUS, SGF, STL) and drive there? 2) Is this the exact address where it will be held? 1126 Porter Wagoner West Plains, Mo 65775 3) What is the cheapest, closest, clean hotel/motel to the workshop? Where do attendees usually stay? 4) Yo...is anyone else here planning on going? -
TO ALL - attention! something to discuss!

Yes, I would love to hear your story - and your friend's too (if they don't mind). And actually, maybe I will try a $10 kidney FU. My kidneys DEF need some recharging and I've been looking for a way to do that. In fact, I'm getting some gray hairs due to kidney water deficiency and that would be a great gauge to see if my kidneys are really getting restored (if my gray turns black again). -
Is she not a believer, lol? Personally, I "believe" in "aliens," whatever exactly they are. The possibility doesn't freak me out - in fact, I'm pretty curious about them. So, I'm surprised at how the idea did seem to freak a few KLr's out. Typically women, who may find them "creepy." Although, I myself am also wary of the "bad" ones too.. In fact, my main ET concern is being able to discern between the ET friends and foes.

Yea, I personally don't mind reading MTS's posts - as they add another perspective here. A more traditional, "authentic" POV, even. Proof is in the pudding, though. But if the FU really worked for Yoda, and can consistently get results...then I'm definitely more intrigued. In fact, I might even test-drive one myself. How much are they again? I also think it's easier for some people to simply ignore his posts than to ban him, if they don't value his opinion. Because there are some others here who do. -
No offense anyone, but why are some people this gullible to begin with? When I first heard about him, I did some homework and found some red flags and his reviews were mixed at best. I kept an open mind, but stayed wary at the least... And who knows - maybe he still does or did have some authentic skill at some point. Or very maybe not. But regardless, he's starting to sound more and more like a cultish con man selling Kool-Aid. But again, had people done some basic research and used ongoing discernment, I don't think they could have gotten bilked so badly... There's a large number of healers out there, and word-of-mouth alone can often give you a fair pre-appraisal. And then, after one meeting in person, you should be able to tell if the guy's legit or not. And if that's not sufficient for you to get a clue...then I got a bridge in Brooklyn for you...

Interesting, this is the 2nd time I've seen this symbol (circle with vertical line though the middle) in the last few weeks... What does it mean, exactly?
-
Yea, I think I skimmed over it somewhere in here...lol. So, there's just Hata & his GM right now...going, going, gone! But, how important are the transmissions to attaining functional ability and self-sufficiency in this art...and how many transmissions do you need until you are functional and can maintain or progress further on your own? And how long does the daily routine take, if there is one?

In these debates, I think "show more, tell less" is a better approach than...mental circle-jerking with flippant responses. Although, without drama, these forums would also shrivel up and die. It's kinda like how people will bitch about all the sex-filled, violent movies...but then only go to watch the...sex-filled, violent movies. Anyhow, I personally have 2 recent experiences that would relate to these 2. One pretty objective. 1) At the end of a ThetaHealing workshop, I awoke in the middle of the night and noticed that my (normally nearsighted) right eye had suddenly reverted to 20/20! This wasn't just a mere flash either, but lasted for about 5 good minutes as I looked around in disbelief, before I went back to bed. Now, that's not something I could just fake to myself - but a real, concrete change. Unfortunately, I just "couldn't believe it" and so it reverted back to blurriness when I woke up the next morning. But for a good 5 minutes or so, I had genuinely achieved an "instant healing" that otherwise would not be "possible" by any conventional medical theories... 2) When Santiago was teaching us how to see auras, I saw a bright flash in the middle of the air. Now, you could conceivably "explain away" auras as "afterimages" or some other "eye tricks"...but I don't think there's any conventional explanation for an actual flash that comes out of nowhere like that.

Ok, although I'm not sure what more to ask him about them...like what, drop some names? Or maybe just their schools and lineages? Actually, I would like to know how familiar he is with longmen pai or mo pai...along with many other questions. Especially regarding the relation between "Buddhist enlightenment," "Taoist" immortality and yogic union with the Tao, where Gold Dragon Body falls in with all this and what exactly the "One Law" he talks about is? ETC. Anyhow, if you have anything you'd like me to ask, let me know. Definitely can't guarantee I'll get to asking them (as he is usually swarmed), but I'll keep any questions in mind if the opportunity or topic arises... BTW, if anyone is going to the Dallas or Austin workshops and wants to split a room, let me know. I'll probably need one myself at this point.

Well, I remember him talking about some Beijing aunties and other masters who had some pretty impressive telekinetic, dematerialization and manifestation powers... But just didn't remember another one specifically mentioned here (other than Jenny)?
-
Hmm, who was the other aunty mentioned by Max, btw? I don't seem to recall hearing about another one...

Cool, would you mind posting some vids up of that? I'm also eagerly awaiting vids from Spirit Ape & Drew Hempel, lol...although I have a feeling they never will... Cool, I'm curious about what type of neigong/qigong exercises these are? Philosophically, I would agree that most openings should actually be allowed to do so spontaneously like a flower. We just provide the proper soil, water and sunlight. If I was in LA, I'd definitely go check this out... I'm also curious what Hata's lineage is and who else knows this art?

Who is a Christian here and believes in JESUS CHRIST?
gendao replied to Spirit Ape's topic in General Discussion
Are his disciples, much less you, really sure what he said? BTW, I'm sure you know that spirit was from ruach which meant breath of life. Therefore, "cultivating the breath of life," literally interpreted, could essentially = qigong. (Although, the Bible does not actually contain any instructions for that.) Anyhow, just to play DA here. Fact is, the real Jesus is shrouded in mystery... -
Good read, as I am an engineer... Anyhow, there's not always a good quantitative measure with our limited technology, but just to give a mundane example: Let's say you want to increase your athletic ability: bench press, vertical jump, whatever... Training method A, using grueling brute force workouts, results in 10% gains over 2 months. Training method B, using a different kind of lower-intensity workouts, results in 25% gains over 2 months. Now, method B would then likely and quantitatively be more closely aligned with the Way - the smarter and more "right/proper" method as evidenced by its greater efficiency (more results with less effort). Cuz the more correctly you're doing it, the less effort it requires. However, as I said, my frustration stems from the fact that many teachers of the "Way," tend to teach the SYMPTOMS rather than the ROOT CAUSE of the Way. As if by mimicking the symptoms, you will somehow effect the root cause. Which may not hurt, but won't really get you there either. In fact, it may even often stagnate you into years of wishful delusion. This would be like simply using less effort as with method B, but the incorrect method...yet expecting the same great results. When it wasn't less effort that produced the enhanced yield, but the CORRECT METHOD. So again, being effortless will not give you power. Doing things the right way, will give you effortless power. IOW, you can only achieve wu wei (action of non-action) by finding the right Way (not vice-versa)... And getting this backwards is probably the single, most common mistake in applied Taoism!

I think he might have only used some fencing concepts for closing the gap. Although I just watched a few fencing vids and their footwork looks flat-footed and their movements way overextended (in accordance to the rules). One thing I notice about Bruce is that his stance was always very coiled and balanced - which allowed him to explode on a hair-trigger... Xx34FlEDtJ4 Whereas I don't see that in fencing, boxing or wing chun. Although far more in boxing than the other 2. And at the end, he had became even more fluid, catlike & formless - with a lot of constant micromovements - and almost robotic in efficiency. UfsIGFPxb_w Thing is, your movements have to be really perfect to look that good on camera, which doesn't miss a single flaw...

Not true, the American majority voted Dubya in twice, while barely giving guys like Ross Perot (who focused on balancing the budget) or Ron Paul any votes. They also lived on credit well beyond their means and took out huge mortgages with little down. And still pay poor attention to their health, spiraling those costs out of control too. Meanwhile, also demanding more and more services from the government... Now this was not me, or probably you, but the majority I speak of. And in an oligarchy, the majority still rules... But unfortunately, the few dissenters like us will still get drug down with them.
