I'm a bit confused on this myself here. If Max has already transitioned over and back several times...what exactly is he staving off now? Does it become harder to come back each time or something? Also, what about his students who have achieved GDB (or gone right up to the edge) now? Do they have to hold back, or have any gone fully right on through and come back?

The mind is the mirror. So, to see the object directly (enlightenment?) You must stop looking at its reflection in the mirror. And look directly at the object itself. It's that simple! ...As seeing the world through your big toe.

Interesting postscript to Max's comment: Missing matter found in deep space By Maggie Fox, Health and Science Editor 2008/5/20 WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Astronomers have found some matter that had been missing in deep space and say it is strung along web-like filaments that form the backbone of the universe. The ethereal strands of hydrogen and oxygen atoms could account for up to half the matter that scientists knew must be there but simply could not see, the researchers reported on Tuesday. Scientists have long known there is far more matter in the universe than can be accounted for by visible galaxies and stars. Not only is there invisible baryonic matter -- the protons and neutrons that make up atoms -- but there also is an even larger amount of invisible "dark" matter. Now about half of the missing baryonic matter has turned up, seen by the orbiting Hubble space telescope and NASA's Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer, or FUSE. "We think we are seeing the strands of a web-like structure that forms the backbone of the universe," said Mike Shull of the University of Colorado, who helped lead the study published in The Astrophysical Journal. The matter is spread as superheated oxygen and hydrogen in what looked like vast empty spaces between galaxies. However, observations of a quasar -- a bright object far off in space -- show its light is diffused much as a lighthouse can reflect on a thin fog that was invisible in the dark. "It is kind of like a spider web. The gravity of the spider web is what produced what we see," Shull said in a telephone interview. "It's very thin. Some of it is very hot gas, almost a million degrees." This is where the dark matter comes in. The dark matter is heating up the gas, Shull said. "Dark matter has gravity. It pulls the gas in," Shull said. "This causes what I call sonic booms -- shock waves. This shock heats it to a million degrees. That makes it even harder to see." The atoms of oxygen are in a stripped-down, ionized form. Five of the eight electrons are gone. It emits an ultraviolet spectrum of light that instruments aboard FUSE and Hubble can spot, Shull said. These web-like filaments of matter are the structure upon which the galaxies form, he said. "So when we look at the distribution of galaxies on a very large scale, we see they are not uniform," Shull said. "They spread out in sheets and filaments." Some faint dwarf galaxies or wisps of matter in these structures could be forming galaxies right now, the researchers said. Shull and colleagues said these webs of hydrogen and oxygen are too hot to be seen in visible light and too cool to be seen in X-rays. (Editing by Will Dunham and Xavier Briand)

And no amount of polishing the mirror and perfecting the reflection will make the reflection the object (being reflected). Enlightenment is when you stop looking in the mirror altogether, but directly at the object. Which in our density, means to stop looking (cessation of the mind).

Wow, damn! A night without dreams? Very interesting...anyone here attain this, yet?

Great info, thanks! Be nice to have an "interrelational 5 element"-type cyclic chart for this, though..
-
Isn't this Gold Dragon Body, then? Or something very similar? And have you seen the video? Did his physical body simply disappear into thin air like some of Max's students'? Or did the outline of his body just disappear from an expansion of light?
-
WOW, thank you Max! Very heartfelt.. ~ Deep bow ~

Wow, that chart at the bottom is REALLY COOL. I'm not claiming to be at any particular level, but I seem to be seeking a lot of the things on stage 3 right now...

I think Confucianism is more responsibile for Chinese collectivism. Or perhaps an outgrowth of it. There is a chicken & egg, feedback loop here... But Taoism is more about rugged individualism, the prototypical hippy "mountain man." I think it can lead to passivity if misinterpreted, though. When really it just means surrendering the ego to the Tao...and letting the Tao guide you.

Great to hear you're OK, Jesse! I was still contemplating your retreat this year. (But have been very busy of late and still calculating my vacation time.) And I guess it's been relocated now... Anyhow, I have heard some truly heartbreaking stories there. It has really shown the good hearts of many self-sacrificing people and amazingly courageous children. So, I ask myself why it happened there, of all places? I wonder if could have possibly been employed to trigger the earthquakes? Or if this is just the beginning of more of a series of natural Earth changes...? I send my prayers and a little money to them.

Transcendental Meditation, TM Siddhis, and Qi Gong

Very interesting letter by Eric... I am rather wary of guru yoga myself. But, I guess he did learn some rather enlightening, if painful, lessons in his sobering experience... -
Yes, from what I've learnt - you don't do that type of bodyscan or energy work without asking permission first. But, say they have granted you permission - is there a way to scan deeply without getting entangled? Or a way to unentangle if that has already happened? (I have a friend this happened to, who would like to unentangle - but is not sure how to, especially with distinguishing what is theirs vs the other person's at this point.)
-
What kind of problems do you get? Like energetic entanglement? Like where you become linked to what they feel? And if so, do you know how to sever that connection? And why can't you just give a quick scan or glance without getting too invasive or entangled - like you would with your flesh eyes?
-
Can you teach me how you scan?

I agree. With a good magician, even though you know it's fake, you usually still can't tell how the hell he does it... But no matter how good a magician is, he generally relies a LOT on his particular trick props and set-up. So, while it may be hard for any untrained eye to spot their "trick," it's far easier to simply prevent it by randomly dictating the set-up and supplying the props yourself. And if that was the case with Sean's experience, then that would lend credence to Jiang's authenticity.
-
^ Here is the key, though: According to Sean...Jiang changed the water WITHOUT ever opening the bottles first...which were provided by Sean's group. Certainly, the loose scenario shown in the article would have allowed trickery. Not necessarily proven so, but it would have been fairly easily doable. However, perhaps as a result of that article, Jiang might have decided to "tighten" his act up for succeeding groups like Sean's. In order to better preclude the possibility of fraud in anyone's minds. Which I have not seen direct, "red-handed" evidence of yet. Just some healthy skepticism...but speculation that would now be disproven based upon Sean's own personal testimony (if you can believe that). When someone can demo their abilities without their own set-up using materials that you provide, that's always evidence towards their authenticity. Anyhow, for those of us willing to entertain the possibility that he is legit - I would like to know and discuss exactly how and what he was doing to make the water sweet?
-
Thanks, Sean. That is a very thorough and satisfactory response (at least for me). I'd be curious to know what types of health conditions and infirmities he's actually cured.
-
Interesting, the article claims the water was sweetened by an assistant switching a sugared bottle cap in... And the blood "jello" came from a skin prick by a hidden tack. Which naturally congeals once out of the body. But I guess someone actually getting these treatments could verify if any of these happened or not, though.. Hmm, very interesting and very, very good point. Oftentimes, feeling pity for and giving handouts to others can indeed end up only enabling their weaknesses and dysfunctions...and suffering.

Yea, Ken takes a very scholarly, academic, verbose approach to expressing far simpler concepts...but I generally still like the points he ultimately makes. Whereas for Andrew Cohen & WIE - I think it's just plain misleading advertising. And ultimately, I think, even corruptive...as the last thing we need IMO is Communist-Taoism, Freudian-Yoga or neoconservative-Buddhism. To me, it's like Taoism vs. Confucianism. I am Taoist because I love the pure & powerful simplicity of it...as opposed to the sociological, worldy focus of Confucianism.

PB - That's a good list, but I feel slightly-off the mark on a few points. For example: 5. Throat Chakra Lies The right to speak and hear truth I actually feel the Throat Chakra more accurately relates to EXPRESSING THE TRUE SELF (in words or actions). Not necessarily just voicing your honest opinions. So, if you are in a job where your True Self cannot express itself, for example, you could feel constricted there. Even though that has nothing to do with "speaking out," per se.

Ironically, this is one reason why siddhis are important. Because ultimately, that is the true litmus test (relatively speaking). Everything else here is just circumstantial evidence and subject to scrutiny and doubt. Rarely does 2nd-hand evidence ever convert people - but just polarize them into the believers and non-believers that they already were, lol. Whereas, one live siddhi can open a thousand minds and shut a thousand mouths up. Which is why I was hoping some of us could demo some live ones to Buddy. ------------ Anyhow, ultimately this drama isn't about DSV or Mo Pai. If anyone gets overemotional about a certain issue over and over - that means it's a reflection of a deeper one inside them. I myself used to have a lot of cynical doubt too. And I traced it back to some past lives and worked on clearing it out. And, the more emotional baggage you clear out, the more neutrally you will then react to future events. Or if we find ourselves continually in conflict with the same personality types, we probably also drew that to us to help resolve a deeper inner conflict there. Remember, by quantum theory we choose each particle of our reality by selecting 1 possibility out of the probability wave... Again, nothing wrong with healthy reactions (whether it's skepticism or defensiveness). Reactions are normal. But overreactions signal an internal issue that mirrors the external trigger. ------------ OTOH, I sometimes also wonder if the conflict between opposing camps actually adds rigor to the dialogue? Because if only "believers" responded with, "yea, cool," the 1-sided discussion might possibly be far less interesting and informative.
