Source, please? Could you explain how those relate to physical balance & double vision?

An entirely different question for TCM experts - what meridian would be responsible for poor balance and double vision?

a call to arms for all people practicing Asian health arts
gendao replied to sillybearhappyhoneyeater's topic in General Discussion
Wow, this is quite fascinating, if true! So, prior to the 20s, "yoga" in India was more focused just on pranayama ("qigong"), while postural asanas were sort of supplementary exercises. Then, such postural moves began to gain prominence, including from strong Western influence like Danish "Primitive Gymnastics" - as the intent basically shifted from "Eastern spiritcentric" awakening Kundalini more to "Western bodycentric" health & fitness. Keep in mind that India was under British rule during this entire period from 1858-1947 - so this is not as surprising at all in historical context. So, asana yoga itself is already basically a syncretic offshoot of "traditional" yoga with strong Western influence... But if you really wanted to practice more "traditional Indian" yoga...you'd be doing mostly pranayama and seeking Kundalini awakening, not just better health & fitness. Not that there's anything wrong with practicing asanas mostly for health & fitness, either.. But it is very fascinating how some techniques came full-circle cross-culturally around the world over a century with multiple layers of "cultural appropriation," lol! Sort of like hamburgers and ketchup! -
Care to share yours then?!

a call to arms for all people practicing Asian health arts
gendao replied to sillybearhappyhoneyeater's topic in General Discussion
Well, they both impose the same effect - largely extracting just the basic calisthenic exercises out from their holistic spiritual context/background - yet still calling it "yoga." This "PC version" makes it more "palatable" to Christians and the general American public. But this watered-down approach is what some "hyper-PC" at the University Of Ottawa objected to. I think both are debatable positions, personally. Maybe learning some yoga is better than nothing at all for some. But learning authentic yoga is definitely better than learning commercial gym yoga for others... Maybe better labeling can help the consumer make more informed choices and help preserve the unadulterated authentic traditions for posterity? -
Yes, what are the specific techniques for this?

1) You are comfortable asking for work, but not money (ultimately from the Universe/yourself). Note that work is not money. And also how you say you have this great "gift to give to the world" - where by definition, gifts are given freely. So, you are getting what you've been comfortable asking for. In fact, it's even getting to the point where you now have to pay...for the privilege to work ("that’s at least 500$ I have to put down just to start working")! Since you specifically want WORK (and hard work, at that) so dang bad! 2) Because you associate money with bad luck. So to avoid bad luck, you must avoid money (but not work)! Ergo Houston, we have your problem... 3) But your "bad luck" is not from money, it is from your fear of your authentic Self rising in profile. Thus, you are more comfortable sinking back down into obscurity. 4) Try using more of your own techniques on...yourself, then.

Where to begin? i want to learn your teachings.

I would start with self-healing (on multiple levels) and gaining flexibility first as your foundation for later work like qigong, neigong, neidan, etc. Different people in this game long enough, tend to independently come to the same conclusions... -
Yes, there are cultural differences. Westerners tend to veer more towards self-entitled individualist egotism, and Chinese more towards self-deprecating collectivist harmony. That's why most forums here quickly descend into chest-thumping pissing contests... Meanwhile, an actual poster from China exhibits far more genuine concern for others, patience, & humility...despite actually knowing far more than most of the peanut gallery here. This raises some interesting questions. Does traditional Chinese neidan have to be modified for many in the West to help clear out a lot more personal psychological baggage as a preliminary first step? Forget about energetic Zou Huo Ru Mo 走火入魔, what about psychological dysfunctions that could simply lead one very wayward in life?

Or do you (subconsciously) mean Sunshine007 himself? And I would agree with centertime too, entities "attacks" are actually usually your Shadow Self attempting to reintegrate with you. You cast some aspect of you off at one point, and it has been trying to gain reacceptance and love back ever since... If so, all the defensive measures suggested here would likely only backfire in the long run, and make the "attacks" and "need" for reconciliation even more intense.

Actually, if it's a , it's likely using invisible thread hanging down from his head... That seems possible as the card follows his head around. Except, I'm not sure how he would get the card to spin or float someone else's bill without being able to fix it to the thread at some point? It's a good trick, however he did it...

White (semen) paternal tigle rose and red (blood) maternal tigle sank from your heart when you were conceived. These formed the energetic twin strands of your DNA helix - and perhaps could be seen as dragons? So, working with your dragons could equate to working with your primordial energies. Psychologically, they could also represent your parents, your ego, and your Shadow Self. Of which ultimately, these are all aspects of your Whole Self, and are only colored by your own perceptions of and attitudes toward them. Or at least that's one stab based upon a mix of Vajrayāna, headshrinking, and pure speculation, lol...

Like most modern Western medicine, ice has been used mainly to suppress the symptoms - which actually backfires from healing the actual problem... and LED light therapy would be some much better alternatives that actually enhance the HEALING process - although they are generally not as easily available.

Heard a Disturbing Story about Max Christensen
gendao replied to Thea Fortuna's topic in General Discussion
Not that easy to dig a hole several feet deep and then break through a coffin to excavate a head, to begin with... Not to mention, then "reanimate" it like some Halloween gag? And then, to somehow "force" it to reveal secrets??? Just a bit beyond the pale, here??? I'd like to see Max, or anyone, "reanimate" a dead roach, just for starters, lol... And this story could have been a way for these cult leaders to simultaneously impress (and retain) their students, but also keep them from learning directly from Max. As in - "Max himself is a POWERFUL but DARK guru...so if you stick with middlemen like us, we can teach you how to safely attain all his powers, but minus all his scary creepiness." Bait with power & control with fear...- 52 replies

It's a universal Campbellian theme in humanity, mirroring a human life cycle... Things were perfectly "pure" before a "fall from grace" - whether in the Garden of Eden or of Atlantis, etc.. This was due to temptation, loss of innocence, duality, puberty, etc. Later on, humans pine for and then seek to return to their original "pre-Heaven" paradise. Spirituality is essentially this ongoing search - to come back full spiral, the same yet different...

Opening of the third eye and other byproducts along the way
gendao replied to Spotless's topic in General Discussion
Well, I would actually agree that we do subconsciosly choose and create all our own "blockages" - and not dismiss them as random happenstances at all. To me, they are usually due to mental misassociations or lingering reactions to past trauma, etc. For example, you could believe money is evil and so manifest poverty. Or, being strong and able got you drafted into war in a "past life," so now you become weak and feeble instead. Etc etc... There are innumerable ways to disown innumerable parts of ourself - thus "blocking" them off and creating "blockages." But I guess I would still define all these various manifestations as symptoms of their underlying "issues," and not part of their "healing" process. Although perhaps you take the longer view and see them all as part of the painful lessons that help us to correct course in the long run? Well, the problem (as I see it) with your river rock analogy is that the river doesn't always wear the rock away (unless perhaps given eons). Just like water doesn't always flush blockages through in a bathroom pipe - and a plumber must forcefully dislodge it. Otherwise, it simply backs up and overflows. And given that life is short, why waste time waiting for water to wear a boulder down, if you can just actively push it out of the way instead? And no desire to argue here either... I am just trying to determine how much of our "disagreement" is merely semantics vs truly different in actual practice? And if truly different in practice - how you actually practice your philosophy and with what results?- 554 replies

Opening of the third eye and other byproducts along the way
gendao replied to Spotless's topic in General Discussion
I guess you are espousing sort of a Buddhist interpretation of subject identification (duality) being the cause of all "illness" and detachment (nonduality) being the cure to it? And where I say that "blocks" must be "released" (actively) for "healing"...you "relabel" them as "positions/identifications" that must be "given up" (effortlessly?) for "transmutation?" So, I guess the real difference here in practice is that I might try any number of active therapies (for example, say paida lajin, cupping, guasha, bodywork, etc, etc)...to release such blockages - whereas you wouldn't? Do you enjoy perfect physical, emotional, and mental health, then? If not, why and is it only a matter of time before you give up your remaining positions causing problems and transmute them too? Or would you simply relabel high blood pressure, weak kidneys, and arthritis (hypothetically speaking) as "perfection" that simply must be accepted like a square peg?- 554 replies

Simple question about a spine spiral. Which direction goes up, which down?
gendao replied to 4bsolute's topic in General Discussion
Well, if you want a simple technical answer and not just wishy-washy blind speculation - according to the right-hand rule in electromagnetics, you would be generating currents down & up, respectively: Of course, that's assuming the you could apply this rule similarly - which is a reasonable, but unproven, assumption... -
Opening of the third eye and other byproducts along the way
gendao replied to Spotless's topic in General Discussion
Healing takes active effort - to release blockages that actually are requiring your constant subconscious effort. And only after you're cleared and are no longer subconsciously blocking your energy, can it flow unimpeded effortlessly. Water won't flow freely through a pipe until you've unclogged it first. And unclogging takes some sort of effort (just ask a plumber). Of course, most people skip the first active step...and thus get nowhere with the second passive one. They attempt to imitate the masters at their later advanced stages, while not realizing what it took for them to first get there...- 554 replies

Opening of the third eye and other byproducts along the way
gendao replied to Spotless's topic in General Discussion
Except Spotless has also repeatedly claimed how detached from his I-dentity and emotionally neutral he has become...yet has also repeatedly lashed out and contradicted those claims with no explanation. I mean, if he was so carefree, then why the need to defensively label someone a punk and then accuse another (taoguy) of being one too? And even if they were...why should it bother him? So, if he doesn't live up to these "non-egoic" claims, then how are we to believe he lives up to any or all of his other ones?- 554 replies

Point, or wave? Notice how the taijitu contains both: But although the Dao can be perceived as points or waves, it is ultimately ineffable. Either descriptive model falls short.

This experience of deeper and fresh wounds on my return
gendao replied to DreamBliss's topic in General Discussion
Again, you need to actively self-heal a multitude of "lower chakra" blockages before you attempt upper-level spiritual work like meditation. You must advance, before you can retreat. Otherwise, you are just trying to spiritually bypass them (escapism). Which is just a long exercise in futility,...in case you haven't noticed yet, lol... -
Those methods sound interesting, could you expand on those and provide the Chinese characters (and thus word meanings)? And I agree lol, but daomon said that, not Xiao Hongchi. By the time someone develops cancer, they've likely already accumulated massive amounts of emotional pain over a lonnnggg time, severely blocking qi flow. So, they would probably have to get the living sh*t slapped out of them by that point to heal... I wouldn't describe that as "no problem" then, lol...
