how soon before the US in same state as Greece?
gendao replied to 3bob's topic in General Discussion
Yes, because all you need to become an economically dominant exporter is simply a weak currency - like China's...or Zimbabwe! Whereas work ethic, workmanship, value, intellect, etc etc have NOTHING to do with the success of ANY business, much less the wealth of nations!!! -
how soon before the US in same state as Greece?
gendao replied to 3bob's topic in General Discussion
Fortunately, America is "too big to fail." So, with a much bigger debt, the far less likely America is to fail! Really though, 50% of young Greeks are unemployed, Socialist taxes are sky-high...but no one pays them anyways, yet everyone retains lavish Government benefits (early retirements, pensions, etc). Most of this entitlement welfare debt state started back in 1981 with the PASOK party. Sooo...what else do you expect that delusionally living beyond your means for 34-odd years could possibly lead to? A globally-competitive, successful economy? Especially when you are competing against other, much more motivated people with stronger work ethics, workmanship and voluntary genuine austerity measures? Not just shaving government benefits back to continental norms? Anyhow, apart from inner city ghettos, the US's society as a whole has not slid down the slippery slope nearly as far as the current Greek majority lifestyle. So from that standpoint, similar disaster is not as imminent. Although because its debt is exponentially higher...its ultimate risk and collapse severity/damage is too!!! -
My guess is that if you can't get into Full Lotus ...then you probably aren't ready to meditate in it. And it generally takes a loonggg time of training to reach that stage! Which most people easily underestimate...hence they experience numbness & joint strain/pain on all their premature attempts.

You fear what you really want (a real relationship). So, you seek a safer alternative in the "next best thing" - a platonic roomie... But as that becomes more like a real relationship in your mind, you increasingly fear it...and thus subconsciously cackblock it from yourself.

There is a Chinese maxim to 吃苦 ("eat bitter"), meaning to endure hardship in order to develop character and enjoy sweetness (of life) more.. This is a foreign concept in the modern West, where austerity measures when drowning in debt are viewed as an obscene crime against humanity, lol. And truly bitter-tasting foods are almost never found on the menu.

Lol at all the rational-lies-ing in here... You probably could have just talked your way into the job without lying - as they might have been a little flexible on 1 req if you were otherwise impressive enough. On a deeper level, you may need to remove a belief that material success requires lying. As if honesty and "getting ahead" in a career are mutually-exclusive - and you must thus choose one or the other..

Well, this is awfully confusing now! So, the mingmen could conceivably be: 1) Right kidney 2) "Outer" kidney (testicles?) 3) DU4 4) Eyes (not ears, like kidneys "open" from now?) 5) BL52

Hmm, so you would propose that hypertension may be due more to blood stagnation (from dysfunctional liver or spleen), than say, thick, "dehydrated" blood? Interesting, because you'd think that the elements should be a metaphorical descriptor of the organs' functions - and not purely arbitrary designations designed to delineate their relationships with each other... Sometimes I wonder if TCM hasn't become overly convoluted and lost its primary focus (& potency)...or I'm just not advanced enough yet to fully grasp all the big devils in the details? Has it perhaps discarded its "spiritual folk artistry" in becoming too "scientifically technical?" Sort of like robotically-perfect music - that lacks soul? A phenomenon that can often happen as an innovative art keeps maturing well past establishment? At the end of the day, the proof is in the pudding...and I guess more personal experience will tell. Although so far, I've only experienced underwhelming results with acupuncture and many TCM herbs compared to more "primitive" forms of hands-on bodywork (like qigong or cupping), for example..

Do you know if they control the opening-closing of all bodily sphincters, or just the urethra & anus? Also, some say the right kidney is actually the mingmen, or it is on the diaphragm between the 2? Any opinion on this?

Interesting, so if one had hypertension due to thick blood...they should theoretically sleep less and eat "lighter" foods? That actually sounds sort of unhealthy...and I don't think would work, either. Is it possible that blood may thicken due to an overactive liver or underactive kidney? As in too much wood sucking up insufficient water...leading to "dehydrated" blood? Along those lines, how do the 5 elemental states correspond to each organ? Do only 1 or 2 of them apply to each one? For example, I believe yang excess in the liver is similar to, but just one step below, liver fire. But, yang excess in the lungs is never referred to as lung fire? So, would a yang excess in the lungs instead be dampness...since the next generative element is water (kidneys)?

Consider a bedrock of Western philosophy: I think therefore I am But in "Eastern" truth, there is no I or am...only "I" and "am." So, the entire phrase is incredibly misleading, as is the entire culture founded upon it...

What Results Do People Here Have From Training?
gendao replied to vonkrankenhaus's topic in Daoist Discussion
This woman didn't "practice," except abstaining from most all vices and I'm guessing perhaps long stretches of celibacy, too? -
Not necessarily. Women, in particular, often have UTIs, which would contaminate their urine. Not to mention, most modern Westerners also consume toxin-laden diets (including plastics, pesticides, xenoestrogens, herbicides, GMOs, heavy metals, etc.) and are on various chronic meds (the Pill, antidepressants, blood thinners, statins, frequent antibiotics, etc etc..).
-
Interesting, I thought urine was generally acidic...so didn't realize it becomes quite alkaline as it decomposes. That may be something to keep in mind, as "most" plants prefer a slightly acidic-to-neutral soil pH. And some can become susceptible to chlorosis if the soil becomes too alkaline - which would be ironic if due to "acidic" pee! I would assume such alkalization would only be a temporary effect, though?

Opening of the third eye and other byproducts along the way
gendao replied to Spotless's topic in General Discussion
I agree. While various katas of "psychosomatic calisthenics" for cultivating qi might theoretically work for some people...I've slowly been finding that releasing blockages (intentionally or not) restores your natural qi flow that can then function more freely and perfectly all on its own. Similar to the Daoist/Dzogchen general viewpoint, our perfect state is our natural default state...when unimpeded by all forms of intervening artifice. So, it doesn't really need to be "built up"...so much as unimpeded and then fully revealed/unhindered. In short, it's more like simply unclogging your pipes, than trying to manually push water around everywhere you want it to...(which doesn't work anyways if your pipes are clogged). I think all those forms work (best)...only once you've already unclogged your pipes.- 554 replies

The Tao Bonked me on the Head Today You've still missed the point, literally... The Big Picture is found even in the smallest details per holographic Feng Shui. But, you can't see it no matter where you look (big or small), because Governor 20/crown chakra on your head is blocked. Thus you have no governing principle and don't even know who you truly are, and must construct a false identity/facade to save face for the one you've subconsciously rejected (likely, all parts of you that resemble your Dad?). In Campbellian terms, you still lack "Atonement with the Father"... Your new ex-roomy who bailed on you is likely also estranged from her father, and thus projected that onto you...thus getting cold feet & preferring aloneness. Perhaps as you do from your own father/heritage/background/etc? While "surrendering" your false persona theoretically can help, it alone likely isn't enough to dislodge such blockages - which generally require active, targeted work (see CM). Your goal of CM should be to learn such techniques to learn more about your own true identity...not to further pad the resume for your face-saving facade. G'Day!

Congrats on passing through the "Belly of the Whale" and embarking upon your own "exciting" rocky "Road of Trials." Where you are now effectively working your way up through blockages along your body, starting with your root chakra (and correlating with kidney/bladder meridians and those approximately running from your waist down). Hence, you are now encountering survival issues with homelessness, family, safety & sexuality (attempted date rapes)... These are typical for "spiritual seekers" - who must be careful to rectify these root bugs and not attempt to merely spiritually bypass them. The key is to clear them out of your body...and they will then clear out of your life. So, at some point (or anytime) soon, you will need to find healers and/or learn more self-healing practices... I told you it could get hairy.. But fortunately, you've made it through alright thus far... Great new chapter & keep stayin' alive!

Is it possible to remain in the Non-dual state and function in the world?
gendao replied to dwai's topic in General Discussion
Yes, in fact that is our true "natural" state and the "endgame" of our mythic journeys to awakening (see "Master of 2 Worlds" --> "Freedom to Live" aka "Immortality"):- 208 replies

Ironically, she was also the one who had specifically ORDERED her cops to crack down on that specific drug-dealing corner to begin with... So, the plot thickens again...but angry mobs in a rush to judgment don't gots no time for an actual case investigation or pesky complexity. Just reduce everything to a catchy agitprop soundbite and start waving signs for the TV crews to exploit this for all it's worth, people!!!

^ Yes, rashes can often be caused by blocked filtering organ meridians - like Liver or Gallbladder. Typically, toxins are filtered out by the kidneys first, then the liver, and if that all fails...finally through the skin.. In the meantime, Lactobacillus Reuteri, especially strain RC14, might also help a bit... Although I believe some eczema could also be caused by hormonal imbalances...so you really have to keep digging specifically into your own particular situation.

Notice how Baby Boomers quickly lost interest in this story once they found out that half the cops were actually Black, and it thus no longer neatly fit their circa-60s agitprop... Yet the predictable real-life aftermath of such one-sided bias out on the streets today has been extremely destructive to all parties (but not worth an ounce of their sympathy or impassioned rallying cries). And now for the victim's payoff and enabling reward: So 43 more killed now, yet no Boomer cares to know their names. Because they not only don't confirm their bias...but somewhat counter it. And the city will now get rewarded with more money, while still turning a blind Boomer eye... Hmm, race riots, blamed "responsible taxpayer" flight, tax money pit & death spiral...sound familar?

1) MooNiNite hero-worships Wang Liping. 2) He really wants to go to his first US seminar in LA... 3) But, he can't afford the price of admission. 4) Rather than taking responsibility for increasing his self-worth and becoming more prosperous to afford (feel worthy of) his dreams...it's much easier to simply cry sour grapes and hope to discredit Wang LIping at this point - so he can convince himself of why it "wasn't worth" going to anyways... 5) The alternative - that Wang Liping really is that awesome - would be even more depressing because then he would realize that he really IS missing out!!! 6) So ultimately, this whole thread thus isn't even about Wang Liping, but MooNiNite's own insufficient self-worth. 7) This underscores the importance of psychology in life in general and particularly, spiritual cultivation... In effect, this is no different than: 1) Boy crushes on hot chick. 2) Hot chick refutes boy. 3) Boy now starts finding fault with "formerly" hot chick, lol...

What To Do When Someone Says You Are Going To Die?
gendao replied to DreamBliss's topic in General Discussion
Even the best psychics can be wrong, sometimes. Your soul will determine what you need to know for your desired experience here...and sometimes that may even include some head fakes. Even a good psychic will only get the "memo" that your soul puts out...
