Actually, they do. Out in the wild, males are typically judged and ranked in a "pecking order" by their size and relative power/skill as determined through competitive battle. And one could say that ultimately in this mating game, females are the judges. So, what is a "man?" Perhaps one who excels in the key criteria that women often use to judge males? So, what are the real top criteria then? Being a strong winner vs a weak failure? Biological "alpha" manliness? "Beta provider" resources (money)? Other traits? How important is the "outer man" vs the "inner man?" And, are women really the (or a) final litmus test for validation of manhood? Probably at least to some large degree - as they choose what traits get passed down or not. Hence, beetles evolved with ridiculously oversized horns that serve no other function than to turn chicks on! Which is testament to the power of female preference in literally shaping men (and vice-versa)! Is manhood based ultimately on how sexually-attractive he is to women? So, he who can get the most, most awesome women is the manliest? If not, then what would be? Anyhow, I was probably the first one here to really acknowledge the growing struggles of a new underclass of lost Millenial "beta" males - who regularly stumble in here one-by-one like clockwork every few months.. The mere existence of which must be denied by a society still driven by Baby Boomer feminists who view "male victims" as an inherent oxymoron (unless he's of only certain select minorities, nationalities or homosexual). Hence, we simply have a generic "gun problem" and not an "outcast beta male problem." Yet, these are not merely isolated anomalies - but a whole new, legitimate sociological issue approaching its tipping point into the mainstream consciousness.. Welllcccomme to America 2013! Please enjoy your stay, unless you look like one of these guys! Obviously, you are not the first to experience this open question, nor will you be the last. Don't expect the existing Baby Boomer status quo to solve this "problem" for you - as they essentially helped engineer it. It's YOUR bag now and up to YOU. So, do keep up the soul-searching and let us know when you figure out an answer!

This is actually a great, deep, philosophical question worthy of serious contemplative self-inquiry... What exactly does "being a man" mean? Accepting responsibility? What about children or women who accept responsibility - does that make them men too, then? And what about serial womanizers who refuse all responsibility - yet remain irresistible to women - are they not manly? All those women must certainly not think so? I think men in America today are especially conflicted about this - because responsible beta males often struggle through life as unsung "zeros" while alpha male cads get unconditionally worshipped despite all actions to the contrary. Winners here (on planet Earth, really) take all - and by any means necessary.. And the ends are used to justify the means. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kUdKh1jnSQ Can a zero still be a "man?" Or does one have to be a hero to be a "man?" Is "manliness" something you're either born with or not - or can it be earned, unleashed or further developed? Or...is "manhood" an evolutionary Campbellian journey that includes ALL such archetypal phases as crucial rites-of-passage for self-discovery? Has anyone here ever tried taking a retreat from the ManKind Project?

Not in this lifetime, perhaps in another? Were you ever a Japanese monk named Shenzhu? Anyhow, you are full of insights...asking the right questions is half the battle. Thank you for sharing your fascinating story! I feel like you may have initially been driven by a "freed slave complex" where you defiantly sought freedom/emancipation from your plantation/family pressures/death/rebirth wheel/material world/ignorance/home/own problems by escaping into otherworldly "spirituality." This was akin to shifting from a root chakra survival mode more towards solar plexus personal empowerment. Where you subsequently learned through your "unhumbling" experience that if escapism didn't really lead to freedom (from your problems & misassociated concepts) - then you might actually have to SOLVE them - to be free OF them? So now perhaps, you've decided to strive for GREATER CONSCIOUSNESS (antithesis of death, identity loss, not knowing, etc) to become...conscious of what you're actually subconsciously doing...and a better problem-solver? Q: Is the solution to a fear of losing...winning? ...or surrendering?

Well, if you've already been seeking for 16 years, you are probably further along your way than most of us here.. That said, my general advice for Taoist n00bs would be to start (or train in conjunction) with some fundamental preparation of your body & life for a few years first. Any guidance here helps of course, but a lot of this grunt work can be done on your own. 1) Practice stretching regularly to open and release your body, particularly your kua (pelvis) and spine. It can take years to slowly melt and release years' worth of chronic tension, constricted tendons, fascia & meridians and Reichian armoring. Bruce Frantzis' Water Method would refer to this general process as "dissolving." It's a slow metamorphosis of transforming from a closed, defensive posture (living in fear) to an open, "vulnerable, yet not" posture (living in grace). Western sport is all about training us for the sympathetic "fight or flight" response (literally - to sprint fast or do competitive battle). Eastern internal arts veer more towards the parasympathetic "rest & digest" response (to relax, restore & rejuvenate your own health). All of this also lays the foundation for the "most efficient" optimal Taoist meditation posture of full lotus. But rather than forcing (VERY un-Taoist!) yourself into this advanced position, it should be progressively trained for as such until it can be assumed easily and comfortably. The other "power pose" is zhan zhuang, but that doesn't require as much flexibility - although also the tensionless body language of "surrendering to grace." 2) Decompartmentalize and recognize the direct connection between all aspects of your life. Your personal story is also an expression of your "subconscious self" - so if one's not in order, then neither is the other... Gnow thyself - and that includes in this material realm too. Spiritualism should not be an escape, but a deeper integration of yourself on all levels of consciousness and being. Meditation helps to bridge these gaps. I also find self-inquiry/psychotherapy to be an incredibly powerful, but often underrated, tool for troubleshooting problems that occur in any such spheres of your life. Ask yourself why did your grandmother's death confuse, and not just sadden, you? What did that loss represent to you? Why have you subconsciously chosen to be homeless? Etc.. "Unfortunately," many of the available texts jump straight into advanced alchemical techniques like the Neijing Tu...and give virgin readers the impression that they can too. Well, there is little chance that a brand n00b can start genuinely meditating in full lotus an hour or more a day - especially if they have significant life worries, health issues or aren't naturally Gumby... Meanwhile, there is plenty that can and SHOULD be done, before one even attempts that training stage! Ok, good wishes & happy trails, man! May the Dao be with you!

I took Jing Dong Gong (& some other energetic healing modalities, including Quantum Touch) a few years ago & cultivated diligently for a few years - but still wasn't able to effectively perform it (although had only tried a few times). Until just recently. I spontaneously decided to try using it to heal some small pains, and got instantaneous feedback that they felt it working real-time. And sure enough, after I was done, the pain was 100% or nearly gone... I'm guessing a large part of it IS becoming a clear, unobstructed channel. And the more you have to "try," the more blocked up you are. So, the real solution there is not to "try" harder...but to purify yourself more. Meditation, cultivation, psychotherapy (triangulation) and other methods are all ways to help do this. Some may be more effective than others, depending upon what your specific block is (although they're all interrelated). When you have passed the tipping point in becoming clear enough to heal, then you won't have to "try." If you have to "try" and nothing is happening...then you aren't ready yet. Go back and purify yourself further...and later it will happen when you are. That is f*cking AMAZING!!! Well done!!! For me, it also helps to think that psychotherapy & energetics are just 2 different ways to move & correct the very same ISSUES - which ultimately "exist" as "intangible" information.

I don't think you have a materials background, but I think all the types of evidence here are important. And they are not mutually-exclusive. Well, wasn't the Pentagon hit by a slightly smaller 757 at probably nearly the same speed? No need to imagine then - here's what the damage there (minus explosives) looked like: So, not even a full "demolition" collapse locally, much less of the entire building. No molten girders or slag . In fact, girders are still seen hanging up on the top floor, as well as adjacent office desks. But this is the typical damage seen from a plane crash or rocket without a warhead. Without explosives, it is simply far more difficult to inflict catastrophic destruction. As you said though, this is merely ONE piece of the puzzle...out of THOUSANDS!!! -

gendao replied to joeblast's topic in The Rabbit Hole
You can see how these huge girders have been sliced at cleanly-cut angles. This is presumably because when demolitioning a building, it's important to rig the charges so that the beams get cut at angles - rather than just straight across. This ensures a collapse as the beams then get forced to slide past each other: But you wouldn't see this in an ordinary impact/fire... And yet: Anyhow, there is plenty of both scientific and political evidence for why the government's own conspiracy theory is inexplicable. -
How does this look? If you like it, you can just DL pdfcreator and print the document to it in the future.

I guess I am confused. After that F-4 was rammed into that concrete wall - the jet was completely pulverized but the concrete wall was "barely" damaged. Like, not even cracked. Back in 1945, a B-25 similarly crashed into the Empire State Building, leaving only a small hole and flames put out in 40 minutes.. Granted, this plane was much smaller than Boeing 767's and flying much slower, but the Empire State was also built far less sturdily. After this accident, skyscrapers (like the Twin Towers) were reinforced to better withstand such crashes. Anyhow, my simple point is that plane crashes and fire don't automatically cause buildings to suddenly collapse all the way to the ground. This was evident in your F-4 test as well as a few other historical examples cited here. I'm not saying it's necessarily impossible, just improbable because it has never been seen before. But the more scientific, forensic smoking guns would actually be the extremely high temperatures seen and recorded in the wreckage - that indicate high-powered explosives (like therm@te or n@nothermite) - not just plain/plane jet fuel. Melting metals typically requires intense, sustained heat trapped in a furnace from ~1500°-2750° F. It's not like you can melt a paperclip with a candle! There is a HUGE difference in the amount of heat you need to actually melt metal. Hence, the Copper, Bronze & Iron ages were huge milestones in human history. But even if such high temperatures were reached from a simple fire (and not explosive charges), the steel would likely slowly soften, weaken, bend and melt over some time, not instantly fail. But alas, I digress...back to color-coding people and guns..! -

This concerns me because: 1) This allows the US to eventually amass an "unlimited & unaccountable" robotic army at its utter and complete disposal against (what they hope for) unarmed citizens. 2) Even if you forget about the drones...Obama has effectively eliminated the Legislative & Judicial branches in his role as unchecked Executioner. Where he can now immediately deliver the death sentence to ANYONE at the push of a button WITHOUT A TRIAL! I mean, I expect the right to a fair trial with a speeding ticket...much less OUR LIVES!!! 3) ALL this despotic power is ALL PAID FOR by OUR TAX DOLLAR$!!! As far as Wilbur's color-coded spiral, I find it a bit inverted. IMO, the deeper you go in your spiritual journey, the more personal and inward you actually delve (not more outward & collectivist). But going by his convenient labels, wouldn't the US be the most "red terrorist" on the planet today? So, would they deserve a fair trial before getting drone-blown? -
I think cupping is regarded as more powerful for detoxing stagnation, but gua sha is simpler and easier to DIY at home. Although even an elaborate cupping set can be bought for just around $30.. Where do you think the Hologram theory fits in eastern religion?
gendao replied to bipaw's topic in Daoist Discussion
Ancient news in Chinese culture. All of its spirituality already assumes the holographic nature of phenomena. Feng shui is precisely the folk art of how characteristics repeat on every level like a hologram due to their underlying unity. This is also seen in TCM & reflexology, a vast map of correlations between numerous fractal expressions. And in neidan, the body is also viewed as a microcosm of the macrocosmic universe. Either way, by altering your programs within, you alter the entire hologram you project (your life experience). So basically, YES...this is akin to Columbus "discovering" a continent that was already populated since at least the Ice Age.. -
Can there be such a thing as a Nazi Dao?
gendao replied to Mark Saltveit's topic in Daoist Discussion
Well, there's barely been any Semites there to begin with.. But those who came, were always treated extremely well: Although, the favor was not always returned... As later on, a nepotistic Jewish family monopolized opium trafficking into China. And at their request, the "British" Empire also backed them militarily to help relieve their own massive trade deficit with fine china & other imports, while many American royal families made their dynastic fortunes at it too.. And then came their mental opium, of Communism...leading to another ~73 million deaths and plunging China into deranged poverty for over half a century.. Still, Shanghai was the only port with no immigration restrictions who accepted 20,000 Jewish refugees fleeing the Nazis leading up to WWII.. On a sidenote, a rather dubious urban legend that Jesus migrated to Aomori, Japan - could still possibly indicate some earlier Jewish immigration there? And on the flip side...were the Bible's 3 wise men possibly from China? -
First time I've heard of this scientific challenge to separate the wheat from the chaff. I APPLAUD Stigweard for setting this up and it is a FANTASTIC opportunity! - So, Gary Clyman's healing videos look very convincing, but his "fajin" tape appears very physical here... - Michael Phillips's fajin videos appear to display more subtle power - but I'm not sure how much of it is biomechanics, qi or both? And, he apparently did not impress much against a "skeptic" in at least one anecdotal account. - Fong Ha (and others, like Dong ZengChen) can demonstrate great rooting (with some subtle power) on command - even world-renowned strength coach, Paul Chek, couldn't move him! Alas, I don't think even Fong Ha has "subtle jin," though.. Real "subtle jin" requires basically just enough physical contact* to "connect a circuit" to deliver an explosive discharge. It relies upon QI, NOT biomechanics (although perhaps proper posture might help to the qi flow better?) It does not require any initial incoming force to redirect - and so should work against any person in general simply standing still. However, obviously very few people possess this level of ability. And those who do are typically working more as qigong healers than martial artists. Not to mention, many of them only speak Chinese, are basically never on the internet/FB (lol) and are in their 80s and passing away now.. But, I suppose that's all the MORE reason to document some of their life stories and skills then, before they're gone.. * From what I've seen/experienced, no-touch "empty force" can work on compliant partners similar to hypnosis, but I've yet to reliably hear of it working against any resisting opponents.

Yes, more transparent...that was just the closet image I could find online. For me, mine is about nearly a pencil's width circle about an arm's length away and slightly below my line-of-sight. It is full of rapidly-swirling, iridescent squiggles and the whole thing seems to constantly be spinning CCW when I'm looking at it. I wonder if Tom Chalko might have ever heard of this phenomenom?
-
YES, I can see the EXACT SAME THING (although not just under those specific prerequisite conditions) - for the last few years now, too! Does it look similar to this? But, I also have yet to hear exactly what it is due to, though?

And as audiences increasingly shift from print/mass media to the internet, they are now militarizing, infiltrating and controlling its content as well... Yes, there are actually shills getting trained and PAID by the STATE to politically troll the net and tirelessly enforce their party line now! What a great way to spend our taxes when we're $16.5 trillion in debt!

Hollywood Vs. 'Reality' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvay28lZiHU = DIAMETRIC difference...lol!

And what were all the actual underlying motives of his mentors and promoters? Were all the results all good? Do any of the results bear any similarities to other agitprop class revolutions elsewhere? Is this always what "political liberation of the proletariats" looks like? And why was MLK initially supported...but then quickly disposed of once he spoke out against US military imperialism? Might there be anything a little wrong in Denmark, here?? Do any of the massive upheavals from the 60s bear any closer scrutiny? We are a warmongering country $16 trillion in debt now, after all... So, might it be time to possibly reevaluate any of our ideology & reexamine any of our sacred cows? Or just unquestioningly stay the course onward towards a 3rd World Promised Land?? Well, some of us enjoy us some good "conspiracy theories"...and some of us don't. But, to each their own! Vive la différence!

^ Shouldn't that interview have been conducted with Obama about the US, instead??
