Snake venom - harmful or...possibly healthy?? Steve Ludwin is a youthful-looking 46-yo who has been injecting himself with snake venom for 20 years as an ongoing experiment!! And when he was 42, doctors tested his telomeres as "aged" 28.. He appears to have some shaky hands, though?

Leading Geneticist: Human Intelligence is Slowly Declining...
gendao replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
Yes, based upon that article, it does appear to be biased against racist admission standards. Which would make it an anti-racist rant, no? Or are you seriously implying that forcing one race (and an even numerically-smaller minority at that) to score 450 pts higher than another is somehow NOT racist??? Like, not even a little bit? ORLY??? Granted, test scores & IQ aren't everything, by far...but 450 pts is one MASSIVE gap! So, do you think anti-meritocratic, racist policies like this are contributing to America's free fall in global competitiveness and spiraling debt?- 23 replies

Leading Geneticist: Human Intelligence is Slowly Declining...
gendao replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
Well, it also depends on what voting block you belong to. The bar gets raised and lowered to amplify or oppress various groups based upon such demographic criteria, like race: So, based upon race alone, Asians must now score 450 pts higher than Blacks on the SAT for similar admission consideration in the US's equalized "releveled playing field" (where a goal scored by Asians is now worth 450 pts less than one scored by Blacks). When you lower the bar for some people, I guess you must raise the bar for others...? Or...if you can't beat them, join them?!- 23 replies

1) Firstly, when you say "Chinese," do you mean: ethnic Chinese (who could be living anywhere), anyone (of any ethnicity) living in China, only ethnic Chinese living in China or Chinese culture, etc? 2) Who specifically do you believe are more prone to "good Samaritarianism" - any non-Chinese or just Christians? If the latter, do you believe this is due to an underlying self-serving, Christian meme that it's needed to get into "Heaven?" And what about Chinese Christians, then? Or non-Christian non-Chinese? Or millions of infidel strangers actively persecuted, murdered and tortured by "good Samaritan" Christians? 3) Who has killed more foreigners/strangers throughout history - non-Chinese (Christian or not) or Chinese? Does such "good Samaritanism" take a game theory backseat to hegemonic imperialism when the 2 conflict? In terms of historical global exploitation and colonialism, who are the greater "good Samaritans" vs those looking out for #1 more? Scoreboard? Sorry for all the questions. I agree there are many conflating mirrors here. Hence, I am trying to understand what exactly it is you believe you are seeing?
-
Yes, I have. So, what "much more" exactly do you see going on? Are you saying that "Chinese" (ethnicity or nationality?) are more collectivist - and thus any isolated deaths may bother them less than group massacres with much heavier actual bodycounts? Whereas with Americans, the exact opposite is true? One "personalized" death outweighs a million faceless, depersonalized deaths - no matter how unjust or barbaric? Indeed, why are Americans SO MUCH more outraged by a few dozen alleged shooting victims...than millions killed widescale under false pretenses? And if so, do you believe that such "cultural" or "ethnic" differences are due more to Nature (xiantian), nurture (houtian) or both?

You do realize that many diseases may be present, yet initially take several months (before antibodies develop) to accurately test positive for? Not to mention, every different disease must be tested specifically for - thereby a "full" screen would be extremely expensive? Sure, in an ideal world with unlimited budget, you would base blood donation purely on their individual test results. However, I think with limited time & funding, one must incorporate statistical analysis to reduce overall risk. Hence even in the US, you can't donate blood if you've gotten a tattoo within the last few months either... Which does not mean that tattoos are "morally wrong" - just that they may statistically introduce a higher health risk.

That is actually also a cross-cultural phenomenon seen in various high-population densities known as "diffusion of responsibility/bystander effect/Genovese syndrome." So, Seth would probably brand your ethnic attribution as: Personally, I prefer the forum of free debate, though! But, that's just me - everyone has a different threshold!
-
Well, from a Christian POV - Lucifer rebelled against Yahweh. That would make him an "enemy" to Christians, but perhaps a "heroic freedom-fighter" to others. IOW, it's quite relative. Whereas if you claim Luciferianism is absolutely an insult, then aren't you insulting Luciferians? How would this then be different than: Or maybe we should put a sign at the door saying No Luciferians! Regardless, rebelling against Christianity is a pretty apt description of...the anti-Christians in the thread, so that general characterization seems to be arguably suitable, no?
-
Depends who you ask. Luciferians would beg to differ: This actually sounds like it could fit a number of people in here, lol!
-
Now, we're getting warmer, actually... How does society treat others who are "different?" Better, worse, the same or just differently (on a case-by-case basis)?

But to YOU it IS - hence you titled them, "Right Wing War Against....XXX" And in reality, XXX = You. Sorry, just trying to read your subconscious subtext here. I am not saying I am right or wrong, just attempting to look past the surface to serve some food for your own thought. And you are, of course, totally free to take it or leave it. Or, if you want to keep railing away at the Right...I have no problem with that, either. Just be well, my friend.

Right Wing War Against Pro Choice. Right Wing War Against LGBT's Let's be honest, these issues are really serving as proxies for underlying Left Wing anti-Right Wing Christian Fundamentalism. The real concern here is not for these special interests - but simply of using them as convenient pawns against the Right. (Note, I am also a frequent critic of Christian Fundamentalism myself, so don't think that is wrong in itself. People may believe and argue whatever they want! That's kinda the point of a "debate." ) However, such overemotional grudges are nonetheless typically displaced anger at unresolved personal issues (usually from childhood and earlier)... The more original targets of such aggression are actually the Christian Fundamentalists that "tormented" such angry ranters during their youth. But in their place now, may remain only an army of self-constructed straw men... Unfortunately, simply retaliating against them to the other polar end of the spectrum (clearly) does not resolve the root paradigm, though. One may switch from Fundamental Leftist to Rightist (or vice-versa)...but the old, bitter anger shall still REMAIN. Because the deeper Fundamentalist mindset does - that of viewing the world in very black & white terms of absolute morality based upon obedience/authoritarianism (not reasoning). Do or don't do this simply because "God" said so - not because of (insert actual reasons)... IOW, something is either absolutely morally right or wrong (for everyone) - simply "because," with no exceptions or explanation required. Hence, messages (facts or rational basis) are never questioned, only messengers. So, it ultimately doesn't matter which side of the paradigm you're on here - because you are still STUCK IN THE SAME PARADIGM. Now, what happens when this Fundamentalist paradigm collides with another one utilizing "situational ethics" instead where individuals make up their own minds based upon their own intuition and knowing as much (pros vs cons) about each situation as possible to "best" navigate 50,000 shades of gray reality in real time? Infuriating heresy!!! Remember, an authoritarian absolutist (Fundamentalist) cannot tolerate any nuanced appeals to logic or grayscale view of their clearly-defined, polarized world. That would be like claiming the Earth is round! But at the end at the end of the day, if you believe this worldly realm is akin to a video game, only the ego gets overemotional about it. Well, IMHO that is...just my additional 2 cents, good day all!

So, as usual, the MSM quickly scrubbed out all of his Leftist political views from his manifesto and released only half of it? Now, that is some shadyyyy ish right there!! I don't agree with all of his views or his violent killing spree - but I must say I respect the fact that he very clearly laid out his gripes and even named names. (He just should have posted it on the Net himself so that the MSM couldn't severely edit it.) Lmao damn...good point & also very formative foreshadowing there! I do think the problem there though was that while his Christian teacher told him NOT to respond with violence, he didn't offer him a better alternative. As a result, decades later, he still responded in the exact same way as an adult - essentially replaying the same conflict from his youth. What he has yet to realize is that this is NO COINCIDENCE - but a direct result of him manifesting his own unresolved internal conflict throughout his life, over and over... The REAL answer here is in fact NOT violence..."nor Christ"...but the psychotherapeutic resolution of his own patterned programming.

That is known as "tyranny of the masses/mob rule' - the growing risk of a true democracy that progressively slides down the slippery slope into its lowest (self-serving) common denominator... Most Americans opposed immense issues of national importance like the Iraq War, Obamacare, etc etc. Yet, our Presidents/Congress still pushed them through, regardless. So clearly, there is no "democracy" here where it really counts! America seems to be ruled by the worst of both worlds - brainwashed mobs of self-centered sheeple and their cunning puppetmaster overlords. And anyone in between these 2 extremes who hasn't drunk the Kool-Aid pretty much gets financially/societally/politically screwed and tooled for either end..

Oh please, let's not subject another poor group to this, now! I actually think that marriage should be delegalized for ALL. IOW, not made legal or illegal - but self-defined as an outdated cultural relic with no legal status. I think it's problematic to begin with because it very arguably mixes Church & State (never a good combo!). So, why not just make "civil unions/financial mergers" between any individuals legal for all those who might want it - and then allow "marriage" (a very culturally-loaded concept) to be an entirely separate, deregulated, non-legally-binding tradition like a Bar Mitzvah? As far as promiscuity, I think many men in general (as a statistical collective) are as promiscuous as they can/want to be. For straight men, this is artificially-limited by the greater reluctance of women (in general) to have sex as indiscriminately and freely as men would like... However, gay men don't have this bottleneck. As a result, YES, they are (collectively) farrrrr more promiscuous because they CAN BE. Easily. Even some no-name gay Joe can get laid more than than the biggest straight alpha male with women...ergo: Now, even if some gay men remain faithfully monogamous - this data is still good for them to know because of whom they might sleep with (overall, a very high-risk group). So, I don't see anything wrong with disseminating such relevant health info? In fact, when used for health education and not to "judge," this vital information can actually only be VERY HELPFUL to anyone who chooses to engage in such practices! Of course, let's not fully equate homosexuality = promiscuity either, because that would just be a logical fallacy... Anyhow, there may be a fine line between homophilia and homophobia - and extreme positions in general. When one's needle gets pegged too far to either end of the polemic, it may often say more about one's own confirmation bias (and personal issues) than a more impartial, unvested view. It also seems that particularly in the former British Empire, such "identity" issues have become so emotionally-charged now that it becomes very difficult to have any sensible, sober discussion about them?

COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS CONCERNING DAOISM (TAOISM)

"Truth Calkins" on deer antler. He says the tips are especially potent because they are what grow so fast. Has anyone actually tried quality deer antler before? -
I like the collision of cultures and personal stories woven through historical epochs. I'm already hooked. Please finish as a "true story" into a book. Fictionalizing it would only make it less powerful and interesting..

I think you've already answered this before...but does the ankh symbolize the "breath of life" or what? And how exactly does its peculiar shape symbolize whatever it does?
-
So, are you saying that orthodox Muslims, Jews & most of Africa are also "fascist?" If so, should we keep supporting such "fascist" regimes with our large amounts of foreign aid? But Africa is actually the most anti-homosexual continent BY FAR - where homosexuality is illegal in most of its countries and even punishable by death in several. So, how come we haven't invaded Zimbabwe to "liberate" them just like half of the Middle East yet?

Wow, could you tell us more about this master? Name, age, location, arts he trained in, etc?

Is it not sad anytime a gullible native populace gets brainwashed by a subversive, fear-based, ethnomonolithic Trojan Horse virus designed to replace and obliterate all competing grass-roots ideologies - with its own self-serving, culturally-imperialistic set of fabricated mind-control, geopolitical propaganda? Smear, scare & conquer?! Power from the People??!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TynFaEQj_Ys As far as Taoist qigong masters - you are often more likely to find them running healing clinics than monasteries, I think. Although the really hardcore neidan masters might often be hidden as hermits?

Through the Western Gate - Waysun Liao demonstrates internal power
gendao replied to dwai's topic in Daoist Discussion
Yes, a true "0-1 inch punch" is entirely using qi - with just the slightest physical contact or movement merely to bridge the gap like an electrical contact to deliver the qi. This is very different from Bruce Lee's popularized 1" punch - which was surely well-coordinated and explosive, but obviously far more biomechanical. Whereas very few people have ever even experienced genuine internal power like Waysun's in person - much less figured out how to develop it for themselves... I wish there was some video of THAT, though! Taijiquan: Through the Western Gate Has Rick Barrett attained this level himself and explain how to in his book? That's the million-dollar question that I am still trying to answer myself! -
Another vital bottleneck for green power is the actual batteries themselves:

No references? Lol, so I guess the university academic group that MLK Jr's own wife chose to donate his papers to (Stanford University's King Papers Project) doesn't qualify as a reference? Or every other historian who's researched this issue? And from Stanford University's King Papers Project's own official site: Well, I guess you're right, then.. Nothing but just another "unintelligent, mucky, conspiracy theory" by some "so-called journalists." Nothing to see here folks, kumbaya!!!
