Could you or someone please link me to his free e-book? Also, I'm curious if he either did or did not witness Sifu John Djiang clearly levitate up off of a carpeted hotel room floor like he described in "The Magus of Java?" Seems a pretty simple, straightforward question? I'd also like to know if the rumors about him and certain other students suffering serious health problems from the training are true - and if so, what was the exact cause of that?? Like if so, was he trying for Level 4 & failed? Was it detoxing? Was it due to an impure heart or improper training?? Etc? As well as how important exactly is jing conservation in MoPai? I did like the neigong-specific questions posed at the beginning of the interview, but lost some interest as it soon veered off into political and apocalyptic talk...although he does at least sound like an erudite and sensible guy.

Does the reincarnated Lao Tzu or Lord Buddha need an energy transmission?
gendao replied to tulku's topic in General Discussion
Well, if they've achieved nirvana and escaped the cycle of death and rebirth...then why would they still even reincarnate to begin with? The Buddha concludes this discourse with the words: "This is my last birth. Now there is no more rebirth." -
Is the only reason not to commit suicide - Fear-based, shame-based, or guilt-based?
gendao replied to InfinityTruth's topic in General Discussion
Well you're right - fear, shame & guilt are not solutions for self-hate. But neither is escapism through drugs, avoiding others who accurately mirror your own self-hate or suicide. You simply cannot escape from yourself, sorry buddy! So, the only real antidote for self-hate is...self-love. Your answer is that simple, and that difficult, my friend. I'm sure you can do it though...although you might need some help at first. But if you've already figured out this much, then don't stop now! Much love to you, brother! -
Christian missionary converted by tribe
gendao replied to Oolong Rabbit's topic in General Discussion
Can you be more specific about this - like which ones do you believe have been infiltrated with evil and how can one distinguish? -
Not really. Actresses are usually attractive, but if it were just about looks for them they would all be beauty queens/p0rn stars/strippers. It takes a lot more than just a pretty face to get cast on the silver screen! I mean, I see better-looking chicks than Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock & Meryl Streep (all A-list actresses) in any given day at Walmart! Usually, women can skate by on their looks up to maybe daytime TV (soap actresses are usually better-looking on average than movie actresses). To really make it big though, you do need that "X-factor"...

US Neocons invaded Afghanistan and Iraq where they've killed a million Iraqis.. Not to mention were likely complicit in killing 3K on 9II at home.. So, why haven't they been tried? Oh, they did it for a legit cause - those people were harboring WMDs (and being Muslim?).. Oh, wait... And now Obama's invaded Libya as well... And he got the Nobel Peace Prize? So, if we care so much about 1 man killing 93...I wonder why we care so much less when it's a whole nation killing a million? Just some food for thought, folks.. I guess with the right mass media PR team, you can do anything!

The ironic counterpoint here is that for half a century up until a decade before this movie was set...China was effectively ruled by a woman, Empress Dowager Cixi.. And that's actual history...not some fictional narrative, folks!

You have some great ideas! But, could you tell us about your actual experiences of these states of realization you refer to? Or were these mostly only intellectual understandings?

This doesn't surprise me, from the standpoint of male psychology. Most men "don't sweat the small stuff" and let a lot of things slide on a daily basis. However, if they feel disrespected over and over on the same sore issues for a lonngggg period of time, they may eventually snap. In this case, beta males all over the world are reaching tipping points in the amount of unabated disrespect they feel they can take from the Bully Cuckolder State. From the Unab0mber to postal workers to Columbine kids to Cho Seung-Hui to George Sodini to Joe Stack to Thomas Ball to Non, etc etc...we are seeing the growing tip of a beta angst iceberg here all with similar gripes here. (Note: I am not justifying anything here...just saying how they are all connected from a psychological standpoint. And that should be examined if we want to take corrective action for the future, not just swept under the rug.)

The Structure of Consciousness - Liminocentricity, Enantiodromia, and Personality
gendao replied to Ulises's topic in General Discussion
Yes, my psychoanalytical experience supports this theory of life as a gigantic fractal, holographic matrix! I hadn't heard of the term "liminocentric" before though - so, cool! -
Lol, you forgot the part about how Hef's real-life story reveals how some women more than willingly and voluntarily "prostitute" themselves for status without male coercion or oppression. Which unfortunately doesn't fit your narrative of man as perpetual oppressor and woman as hapless victim for X,000 years (hence you discredited it "artistically"). But what it actually fits is the evo psych alpha/beta male thesis and how it always took 2 to tango, baby! And I cited his example because if we want to talk about real gender-based behavior, it is best to start off with actual examples today and not a fictional story set 100 years ago. Getting real isn't always pretty...but we all know what Laozi had to say about that: So no, same movie, just different viewpoints.. Respectfully,

This is an easy one now. The proper way to approach Buddhism is with an empty mind (symbolized by the severed head). When you can do that, then you will instantly understand everything its sutras are trying to say... (The "irony" here being that to truly understand all the "scholarly" scriptures, you must "get out of your head" and do so non-intellectually.)
-
AWESOME DUDE!!! I have yet to experience non-duality ("depersonalization") myself - but it is definitely on my list and I guess when it happens, it happens... But this is all one great reason why I really appreciate the presence and postings of all these wonderful Buddhists on this board! They've been invaluable resources for understanding and greater realization. Hip-hip-huzzahh!!!

Exactly! IOW...what you really sought was not emPOWER-MEN-t...but LOVE. Love from your Dad...and ultimately self-love. But instead, you got lost chasing around various hopeful "means" like feminist empowerment and your Dad's (symbolizing your masculine aspect's) love...which again were only red herring MEANS, but not any END in themselves. So, why not just skip the supposed means altogether and go straight to the END, folks??? You could save yourself a lifetime of heartache! A relative of mine is also your classic "strong-angry-feminist-woman-hear-me-roar." But recently, she's had a breakdown due to infertility problems (ovarian failure). Well, I meditated on her situation and got the word, "animosity." I looked this up and found the root word "animus" - which C. G. Jung defined as "an inner masculine part of the female personality"... So as I veered off on in my previous post, what you & Makyea are going through is not unique - it is a widespread byproduct of this whole "identity crisis" era (of which feminism is a branch). And I am not trying to directly combat feminism here anymore btw - but transcend this whole conflated power struggle. This oddly-worded remark keeps making me suspect there might be a generational aspect to this problem - as with man:I-to-u. I wonder if Makyea's mom (or dad) was (or felt like) a "bad seed" in some relevant sense? Perhaps because either one of them was a poor parent or perhaps delivered a girl instead of a desired boy?

To continue with this "fractal psychology," these people are merely echoing your own inner beliefs. You don't take a female seriously. You yourself believe they are on the copout, looser, less successful, no ambition side of life. So, by joining the USMC, you are attempting to psychologically neuter yourself and transform from a girl to a "genderless Marine." You are fighting hard to transform your body to match your men-tality and become a "combat engineer" to literally go to war with your feminine nature. That is also a fractal projection of your masculine side preparing its final assault in your lifelong battle against your feminine side. Which is now pleading out in desperate pain as a last-ditch effort for attention & acceptance! Your first mistake is in subconsciously associating femininity with all these traits that you wish to avoid. Belief: Being girly is synonymous with being a copout, less successful loser with no ambition. Therefore, if I want to not be any of those things...then I must not be "girly" (since they are all synonymous). Fact: FALSE. If you want to be a successful, ambitious winner in life with no copouts...and girly - then be one. Ultimately all those qualities are independent of each other. Being girly doesn't automatically make you unsuccessful anymore than not being girly makes you successful. I'm sure you can find examples of both.. Not to mention, plenty of slacker guys who are also copout losers with no ambition, etc.. (thus proving it's not just a "girly" thing) Also again, what is your ultimate goal in life? If it's love or to be happy...then you can also be a copout, less successful loser with no ambition...yet still be happy & full of love. And by the same token, you could also be a successful, girly, ambitious winner in life with no copouts - yet ultimately unhappy with no love. Or any combination thereof, really. Again, all actually independent variables. Look, we are passing through an era of identity/gender confusion within the interests of "equalizing" power distribution. That's why every activist movement is aimed at artificially empowering & equalizing (power) based upon differences that are...ironically also denied to exist. This is not necessarily all bad, but you can see how it is causing a lot of confusing identity/power (which are also confusingly conflated) struggles - within and out. And one must also consider that its ultimate aim of power - is NOT synonymous with love or happiness, either! So, be aware of how your chosen metric also subconsciously defines your goal. If you measure yourself in terms of power...then you are also subconsciously defnining power as your prioritized goal in life. For example, some people were surprised that a recent study claimed that women are less happy now than before feminism. Now, there could be many explanations for that...but for the sake of argument, it would be no surprise because feminism never promised happiness - only power. And while many may associate the 2 subconsciously...they are not! Not even for men who really get judged by their power as alpha/beta males...much less so for women (who don't)! Now, by the same token, power can also coexist with love, etc. So you can still do whatever it is you want to do - it's just a matter of how healthy your intentions are for doing so. IOW, becoming a Marine as your whole self without having to eviscerate your "girly" side wouldn't present a problem. The problem here is not becoming a Marine...but negating your feminine side. Of which what you really want to eliminate is "loser, bad seed" traits that perhaps got unfairly scapegoated on your feminine side? So, maybe you've been barking up the wrong trees here?? Anyhow, I could write a lot more on all this (later) - but my main advice right here is to start untangling all these false, subconscious associations that are creating false "mutually-exclusive" dilemnas for you. And also really examine your goals in life, similarly. Often we subconsciously confuse the supposed means to an end with the end itself. For example, many of us believe we want power...when what we really want power for is as a means to love. So, we don't really want pow!-er...but LOVE. Yet if we only keep chasing power...we will actually never get true love. So it is VERY IMPORTANT to really straighten out what you are actually subconsciously wanting and doing in life!!! Always chase the END, not the "MEANS"!!! Also, there is nothing mutually-exclusive about using "fractal psychology" here along with all the other methods suggested in this thread. Every bit can help on different levels. Another healing treatment I might suggest is LED light therapy... Anyhow, thanks for your "girly" sharing here! Sorry if I come out harsh, but I really am just trying to root out some possible underlying issues here for you. And I could easily be wrong. But hopefully it helps you out some, I know it has me some too!

The more I observe this group, slowly, I've grown to admire them
gendao replied to InfinityTruth's topic in General Discussion
^ Yes, and more specifically, he has a layered persecution complex. He feels the need to "give voice" to those getting "persecuted" by a more powerful majority - and even get persecuted for that. What this actually represents fractally is that he has inner "minority opinion" parts of himself without a voice that he persecutes. So, he desperately wants to give those parts enough voice to be heard (by himself) - and ultimately accepted. But until he does the self-inquiry to resolve this within himself - he will merely keep repeating this same pattern outwardly, futilely jumping from issue to issue, out in the public eye... Whew, this was a tougher one to crack due to the feedback loop. My brain hurts now, lol! -

Lol true...I wonder how many donations he really gets though? But I think I figured out his MO.. He constantly craves controversy against the mainstream. During segregation, he fought for their civil rights (and women). When these were no longer hot topics...then he had to find something else. So, during the Bush years, he supported Saddam Hussein. Then as Democrats took power, he turned against them now. And as Gay Pride has gone mainstream, he is publically opposing that. So, that's his common denominator here. He doesn't truly care about any of these issues...only about opposing whatever the mainstream movement is at the time. That's the only psychological issue he really cares about. -

Well, I can admire the integrity to stand for your principles against all popular peer pressure, groupthink & herd mentality. But not "forcing" your beliefs upon others...especially in deeply personal events. So, a mixed review from me, lol.. That said, who's to say Fred Phelps might not be some sort of Hegelian plant continually used in varying roles? He apparently has been a lifelong self-conflicted activist of all sorts ranging from a pro-Black/woman civil rights attorney who was later disbarred for verbally-abusing a woman, a Saddam Hussein fanboi who later claimed he was in Hell, a longtime Democrat who recently turned against them as well, etc etc. Obviously, the guy's very flip-floppy & a little nuts. The only question is if he is getting paid to act nuts, or is nuts all on his very own? -
So, here it sounds like you want to segregate/compartmentalize/separate from your femininity & personal emotions. And you want to neuter yourself and become androgynous, more or less. So, isn't that precisely what you're getting faced with now? Getting neutered? Spayed like a cat? Careful what you wish for... I also have a good parable for this I will post later.. And another line that caught my attention was: Do you ever feel like you were a bad seed? And "overworking the soil" also sounds like "overworking the soul" to me, here...so perhaps a "bad soul?" Rainbow_Vein & goldisheavy - Excellent philosophical questions on power & love! I didn't intend to go deep on it here...but it is certainly worth a deep delve. I shall post more on it later...

Your example is essentially choosing love first though, power second. I.e. love with power. However, what about the opposite - power without love? Where power is chosen first and love may or may not factor in? Like I said, I'm not saying they can't coexist - but asking which one is given higher priority?
-
^ I didn't say they were necessarily mutually-exclusive. I asked her which one she's aiming for as her goal in life. You could aim for one but get the other in the process too. However, getting something incidentally doesn't mean you were actually aiming for it. Whereas, it would be more difficult to actually serve 2 masters equally at the same time that often come into conflict with each other. For those conflicts will more clearly reveal which one you actually serve over the other.

1) Is joining the "uber-macho" USMC your way of rejecting (psychologically/emotionally removing) the feminine aspect of yourself (similar to what manitou said)? 2) Do you feel that femininity = weakness and is something that should literally be removed from your body now? That an ovary (the very anatomical symbol of womanhood - is "bad?" - as your thread title states). 3) Do you feel that strength and femininity are incompatible (oxymoronic)? 4) What does it truly mean to be an "optimized"* female? 5) And what do you want most in life - power or love? 6) And which are you actually currently working towards with all your actions??? * Note that I did not say "strong" or "empowered" here, because those very terms are leading towards the acquisition of power. Which may or may not be your actual endgame. Whereas "optimized" is more open-ended.
