Tocharians: Bringers of Buddhism (Video)
gendao replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
Well, based on appearances and modern DNA analysis, people of that region appear to have a shared ancestry from the Turkey/Iran region and the local Tarim Basin. The modern-day Uyghur inhabitants there also tend to look Eurasian: I don't know how much influence they would have had on mainstream Chinese culture though - as this region is far removed in the farrrr NW corner... And the Uyghurs are also Muslim, not Buddhist, too. Meanwhile, there is growing evidence that there were Chinese in the pre-Columbian Americas... So, I think people are going to find that our global history is a lot more complex than currently thought...lol! -
In addition, I would also recommend lymph massage and LED light therapy.

Lol, well the videos seemed to lean towards the Acambaro figurines and Ica stones as being frauds.. No Acambaro figurines could actually be excavated anywhere and a sample carbon-dated to only 1500-yo. They also don't look authentic to me and I don't think they all could have survived being buried so long intact like they all were. The Ica stones apparently lacked any patina in the carved grooves, which would have indicated a greater age of the carvings themselves. So, looks like some false leads to me here...

Excellently-explained insights, Stig! Only within the last week have I felt able to sink my weight and tension down to my K1 Bubbling Wells...leaving a relaxed body above in its wake. This is after nearly 2 years of daily zhan zhuang/wuji!

A very interesting correlation to ancient Chinese medicine: Sounds remarkably like the Bushmen's "shaking medicine" using "arrows of n/om" in a nutshell:

Well, aliens are truly the missing link here that reinterpret and connect both the Bible and development of humans on Earth. This is transcending the whole paradigm between Christian Fundys & Scientific Fundys now - either option of which which was always somewhat faulty and lacking to begin with. As I've said before, we are entering a new paradigm where the old Baby Boomer hardlines are getting outdated and obliterated by groundbreaking new revelations about our past and present reality. Which means that yes, if you are a diehard Baby Boomer atheist liberal - your worldview and interpretation of reality are just as skewed by personal bias as a Bible-thumping Christian Fundy...and both are facing ideological extinction as close-minded dinosaurs.

^ Yup, the Olmecs (who preceded the Mayans) may have been descended from Shang Dynasty chieftains. And there does also appear to be a connection between the SW Chinese Yi minority and Peruvian Incas.. But NO, you won't learn any of THIS in public school here!

That symbology is actually particularly interesting because it's the very same ones the Freemasons adopted as their logo: I suppose this implies some sort of "intelligent design?"

I've recently come to find that the best way to detox your organs and open their corresponding meridians may be to...relax your organs. And if your organs are not relaxed...then all the "external" methods like acupuncture/pressure or making healing sounds will only be of limited use. But if you can relax your organs, these "supporting" methods like those will be much more effective and perhaps not even necessary anymore...(as you could directly work with your organs now). Of course, I've only been able (I believe) to start relaxing my organs after nearly 2 years of meditation. So, it might be a more powerful, but also a more advanced ability. And those who can't do it yet (probably the vast majority of laymen) may still have to rely upon the easier, lesser (& less effective) methods for now... /\

Exactly - hence it was a question, not a statement! So, are you saying that Vajrahridaya (and other "holy authority" figures) do not remind you of your father, perhaps? Which might explain the irresistible attraction, yet repulsion, towards him? No...?

What tribal societies practice this and how well does it really work for them? I know this is how many African societies "work"...but look at their results there, lol. To each their own, but not really the ones I seek in a society... And this is also basically what's destroyed Black American society over the last 50 years due to liberal anti-beta male policies here - as you note below: 80% of Black American babies are now born to single moms. And if you look at Black hoods here or most of Africa - I don't think this strategy is working out too well anywhere. And neither does it lead to more "empowered" women or female spiritual gurus. In fact, more like far the opposite...(see any rap video) But I think that is actually the underlying secret society goal here. If you replicate this "African" strategy...you will replicate "African" results here in the US. Which then leads to a nanny state wholly dependent upon the UN/NW0 for bare survival.

Hehe, makes me wonder how much various posters in here are really just projecting out their relationships with their own parents/mothers?? For example, by that theory, Vajrahridaya might have fairly good relations with his while ralis might be estranged? As far as there being more male gurus - I think also that some males tend to be more prone to chasing their dreams with total abandon to the extreme - than women. This is still rare amongst both genders - but there are a few more exceptions amongst men. I mean, in many of the Eastern traditions...saddhus, yogis, Taoist adepts, etc will just sacrifice the lay life and dedicate every day to their spiritual pursuit. These guys may be celibate, live a life of poverty and meditate 4-10 hours/day in relative solitude. Sure, there are some women who choose this path too - but I don't think nearly as many... For example, just look at the membership on this site. It's arguably 99.5% male. Even though there is nothing discouraging or discriminating against women from joining. The interest is just not really there to begin with.

28 meter height, gold -plated Laotze Statue
gendao replied to exorcist_1699's topic in General Discussion
Lol, what's so special about his 2582 B-Day? And all I know is that if that thing were built here...it would have been entirely scraped clean of gold by the next morning!!! But gold-plated statues are probably just not a good idea anywhere... -
When you say "we," may you be projecting somewhat here? Do you perhaps feel distanced from your mother? Cuz I personally have some "old/older woman" mentors/role models and everyone is free to chose whomever they want to learn from as well. This does include old women too - although they may perhaps not be as statistically popular in the mainstream.. But there is no reason why anyone has to limit themselves to the mainstream status quo in life - I sure as hell don't!!!

I think many are obsessed with those who were publically known to have achieved great things - many of whom just happen to be old dead men now. It's not really an obsession with "old dead men" though - as the vast, vast majority of them were totally forgotten and barely even known publically when alive. In addition, there's many people today whose words carry a lot of weight based upon what they've been known to accomplish thus far. So again, it is not limited to old dead people - but accredited people (whether old, young, dead, alive, etc.). Just more of these happen to be "old dead men."

One guess of mine is that they symbolize the post-Heaven manifest world where ☰ Qián (Heaven) & ☷ Kūn (Earth) have mixed to form ☲ Là (Fire) & ☵ Kǎn (Water). So now there is a little yin in the yang (☲) and vice-versa (☵). You can thus see how the Taiji symbol basically visually depicts our post-Heaven state as the combination of ☲ & ☵: Neidan is thus the process of reversing this descension back to the pre-Heaven state of pure Heaven (☰). To do this, the yang bit is extracted from ☵ to replace the yin bit in ☲ - resulting back in pure ☰.

Hierarchies reveal one's own prejudices. Someone who uses materialism as their primary metric for self-worth will see poor hood rats and monks as lower than themselves. They simply cannot fathom the possiblity that anyone else would willingly choose to pursue other less-lucrative routes in life as more personally rewarding. Whereas, a hood rat using swagger and manhood as his metric might actually view those same rich yuppies as inferior squares, instead. This is why it is flawed to try to artificially equalize everyone per any single metric (like socioeconomic, etc) as a political agenda. Because the fact is, different people prioritize different metrics differently and make different choices accordingly in their lives. And who are others to look down upon them for that? Maybe a street busker with 5 kids might be happier than an accountant driving an SUV. Who's to say??

It seems many are dealing with resolving generational issues and breaking vicious family cycles this year... As far as money - I think the healthy attitude is to measure your self-worth by your self, not your financial worth. As long as you are not reliant upon your financial worth for that and view money just as a nice bonus in life - then I think you can enjoy any amount of it without any personal heartburn. Remember, true non-attachment is neither craving nor active rejection. Pushing away is also an attachment, and often a pushback to a subconscious craving. If you really didn't care, then there would be nothing to even resist. So, real non-attachment is a neutral, non-needy, can take-it-or-leave-it mentality... Because you have become self-sufficient and don't need anything. Therefore, anything else gained externally is merely a bonus. Which can then be simply enjoyed and not rejected. But the lack of which is not a loss, either.

I think Vajrahridaya & Ralis have personified an existential/non-existential crisis between God/Self/Authority & No-God/Self/Authority here. Ralis doesn't believe in "God" (the ultimate authority), yet is furious at it. Hence, he is angry at any grand authority (i.e. Vajrahridaya) by proxy and a staunch atheist. In fact, the grander and more godlike the authority (see religions), the angrier he gets at it!!! Except, you can't be angry at something you deny exists (unless you secretly believe that it does). Vajrahridaya professes not to believe in "God," yet is reverently devoted to an authoritative truth like a "God." He compassionately evangelizes it to "save deluded souls" (by teaching them them the truth that they're all inherently empty). But if they are all empty and no Self exists, then who is there to desperately save?? They both profess not to believe in some "God," yet Ralis is enraged at any all-knowing authority (i.e. "God") and Vajrahridaya loyally defends it... They are actually straddling the same fence - which is why their conflict is so intense. Maybe there is no self and no no-self? Wasn't Buddha somewhat vague on this? I don't know.. I'm sure Vajrahridaya does know a lot more about this than I do. I am not disagreeing with him either (his views are probably all correct & I truly enjoy all his messaging here), just saying that he must also still have a little internal conflict if he is drawn into this huge external conflict with Ralis here. There are no coincidences. The outer always reflects the inner. Always takes 2 to tango, even if on a subreality level... So ultimately, this conflict will be something that both will have to resolve within themselves.

Wuxing, Elemental Alchemy, Persona and the Nature of Free Will
gendao replied to JustARandomPanda's topic in General Discussion
I suspect there's some sort of hierarchy of "us." Soul - screenwriter of our lives Heart - scriptwriter for our minds Mind - actor that reacts and delivers lines The deeper you go, the more expansive, more connected, less individual, more knowing and more influential levels of consciousness you reach. The shallower you go, the more individual, more disconnected, less knowing & less "free will" you experience. Hence, the mind-based person is essentially a straw dog puppet - as the DDJ says. -
I actually enjoy all the tangential Buddhist posts by Vajrahridaya, etc. It's like free lessons for me. But I'm a Buddhist sympathiser here.. *ducks*

The answer lies in the India/Nepal/Tibet Himalaya Regions afterall.. and definitely NOT in china/taiwan..
gendao replied to bodyoflight's topic in General Discussion
Hindu IDO says that everything is just a different reflection ultimately of an original object. Hence, the ultimate natue is this object (where the buck stops). Buddhist DO says that everything is just a reflection of another reflection...with no original object. Hence, nature is ultimately empty (the buck never stops anywhere). "Emptiness" here does not mean that there are no reflections - just that it is empty of any original object (that is NOT the reflection of something else).. That is how I view both theories now, although I have not really deeply contemplated each yet.. The actual reality might transcend both somehow, I dunno..? -
terrible misunderstanding of buddhism/taoism
gendao replied to noahfor's topic in General Discussion
I don't see the problem? When you wake up from a dream and suddenly realize it was all just a dream, do you get horribly depressed? What would be horribly depressing to me is if samsaric life is simply as we know it with no deeper subreality free of human preferences and judgments. That one simply lives, works & dies. Why even bother, then? Think about how you love your girlfriend.. Well, what is that based on, really? And why do you not love everyone equally? And what about those who don't get loved much in this world? Conditional love as you know it is great, but only because it is but a smithering taste of the totally unconditional cosmic love that the fabric of our submatrix is made of! And even if you personally have a great life - what about others with horrible ones? How messed up would that be if that is simply how it is...with no deeper method behind the madness?? I personally like the idea of an underlying unity because it means that no matter what happens to us as individuals here, ultimately everything is "ok."
