1) Supernormal feats? Does he know if there was any truth to the legends of Dong HaiChun possessing supernormal abilities such as qinggong and teleportation? And if so, do you know if these methods have survived amongst any practitioners and what they were based upon (like possibly Longmen Pai neidan?)? 2) Enlightenment? Do you know what actual method Liu HongJie used to attain enlightenment in his 30s? Other than it being from: 3) Internal Vs External? Have you ever tested your "internal" skills in sparring against an "external" martial artist (like an MMA fighter)? How do you think guys like Liu HongJie, Morihei Ueshiba or Wang Shujin would have faired in the UFC? Or against each other? Ok, I guess this question has already been sort of answered: 4) Best Story? What's the most fantastic IMA feat you've ever witnessed?

Hmm...you see what I mean? They are not like opposite electrical poles - they repel. I generate yin qi like an opposite pole - to "attract" their yang qi over. Yet yin qi can never lead, only follow. Huuuhh??? Do these not all sound like contradictory statements? Am I the only one thoroughly confused here..? So, which the f*** is it - do they attract or repel each other???!
-
Well, I believe that yang qi cannot move off the body through thin air unless it has yin qi as a some sort of "carrier." That's why in the MoPai Level 2 test - JC must be present to project his yin qi into the testing area so that the yang qi of the student can extend off his body into it. Yin qi is also what is impeded by synthetic materials. Hence, JC could not levitate that far off the hotel floor - due to the synthetic carpeting. The one thing in that book that still confuses me though is whether yin qi attracts or repels yang qi? It seems that they repel each other within the body and so have to be forced together to form the Taiji in Level 4. Yet, it also seemed that JC used yin qi to attract yang qi in the Level 2 test. So, I still don't understand which exactly it is here? Anyone know?

Daoist Qi Gong- Blend of Zhan Zhuang and Moving Exercises
gendao replied to Franklin's topic in General Discussion
Cool. Just a question though - what exactly does standing static qigong cultivate differently than moving qigong? What different purpose, focus & results do each have? -
What exactly does BKF mean when he talks about the joints "opening & closing?" Normally, conventional physiology would say that joints can really only hinge open or hinge close (rotationally). But does he instead mean that the spacing between the bones in the joints actually increases when they open? Or the energetic passageway through the joint opens? What does this feel like?

A friend basically pointed this out to me recently, too. Acting humble, when you have no power to be humble about, instead represents a lack of confidence.. Conflict avoidance out of fear is merely cowardice, not forbearance.. So, it is better to stand up courageously with integrity out of anger than just be a cowardly, conflict-avoidant p*55y. However, it is also better to resolve anger issues within yourself than have to deal with them once manifested outwardly. Etc. Basically, the exact same outward actions can mean different things depending upon your level inside. It is like a spiral, where you may be at the same point horizontally...yet on another level up or down on the spiral vertically... Hence: It may seem that you've come "full circle" in one sense on the path...yet you've still made a lot of progress because you spiraled one turn higher in the meantime..

Is that close? Here's some more interesting quotes from Taoist Yoga about what vibration often signifies in alchemy: Dam, this book rocks!

I have met many people who later claimed to be of alien ancestry...or had lots of alien contact. Not necessarily physically, but perhaps their souls or spirits? Mostly Pleiadians, Sirians and some others... For some reason I've become a "magnet" for these folks.

If you can't relax, then I'm not sure how much qi you could build up to begin with? I think the more you relax, the less focused intention you need to accumulate qi. I'm guessing we might sort of be like sponges. Even the tiniest squeeze tends to squeeze out water and reduce its holding capacity. Of course, this could be a gross overgeneralization/simplification and I could just be wrong here too...

Well, these speculations are not necessarily mutually-exclusive. I often find some amusing synchronicities in accomplished peoples' names: For example, Titanic/Avatar producer James Cameron = "camera on." Or astronaut Neil A. = "alien" backwards - since he went from Earth into space (instead of vice-versa for aliens) *jizz my pants*
-
Very interesting.. What practice(s) did this guy use to develop his "raised frequency??" Well, relaxation helps to facilitate qi flow. However, if you have little qi built up, then there won't be much to flow. That's why simply relaxing won't give you any power - cultivating qi will. But cultivating qi is not taught very much in IMA. Hence, most practitioners cannot make IMA work because they have been taught to put the cart (relaxation) before the horse (qi). Simply relaxing without being full of qi (peng jin) will simply make you a dishrag pushover.

I speculate that perhaps his style's name might be simply based off his name? Chun can mean Spring & Lin can mean forest (depending on the actual characters, though). So in pinyin, it would be called Chun Lin Gong.

Cool interview.. Sounds like he had a spontaneous kundalini awakening before even researching the Bushmen. But what is his actual "awakening" technique though? He recommends playfully shaking your booty to jazz...but if it were that simple, masses of people in jazz dancehalls would have awakened their kundalinis too. But that never happened. Anyone taken one of his workshops?

Kate - What poodles? I posted a pic of some grannies looking at goldfish dragon bodies! Thanks for the great personal "inside story" here, Pam! So, if many people here agree that these photos would have required Photoshopping to fake...yet you saw them fresh on his camera before any Photoshopping could be done...then this would add credence to them being AUTHENTIC. Let that sink in for a minute, folks.. Now, how much of his GDB attainment do you think is due to Kunlun vs his own extensive qigong training background of ~20 years? Anyhow, I for one am very glad that these photos got shared. People can always come to their own conclusions about them. But at least this allows people that option. And I wouldn't even care if they were promotional (although IMO they are more simply informational)..

Well, I think that a lot of our "choices" are actually made by our "Higher Selves." So, "you" still may be responsible for it on a much higher level. It may just be a different level of "you." The veil between these levels of "you" is what creates our ignorance, doubt & fear. Faith, or self-belief, is sensing the invisible connection that actually still exists there, even though it may be veiled. Obviously, your conscious "you" as a child was probably not responsible for getting abused. However, your Higher Self may have subjected you to that experience for whatever reason... Your Higher Self's "free will" & karma may be your conscious self's "fate." PS - dawg - AWESOME posts, man! ^5 Thoroughly enjoying all of them!!!

Fantastic interview, Sean! I think you succinctly covered all the pertinent questions. Thank you both for this!

I agree. It's a good demo that shows how motion with a long exposure can create degrees of transparency. Big thanks to simply puzzled! However, a blur still remains that obviously traces a biomechanically-correct trajectory (in this case, his torso thrashing down). Whereas in Kan's photos, the transparent and blurred zones don't follow biomechanical trajectories and appear in a far more haphazard manner. As Scotty noted - in the top photo, Kan's lower forearm is opaque while his upper forearm is transparent. Well, since those areas are between joints - there's no way they could have been moving independently of each other. I think this tends to rule out long exposure motion photography. So if these photos were faked, they basically would have had to have been Photoshopped. From the other examples posted, I don't think these could have been reproduced with simple long exposures.. Yet again, the only thing these photos and other examples here have basically done - is further reinforce peoples' already-existing beliefs, lol...
-
simply puzzled - Thanks for your input! I'm going to admit that your technical analysis is going over my head at this point though so I personally cannot comment any further on it...lol. But, your picture disproves your claim. His head is moving fast...which only then leaves a longer visible blur. Sort of like these previous examples: Drill team Car Now, in all these examples, all parts of these objects are fairly equally blurred - since they are all moving at about the same velocity. So, if this was simply a long exposure, Kan's transparent upper half would have to have been moving (thrashing) separately at a much faster rate than his lower half. I don't think this would be easy to do sitting down in a chair.. Nor would that even necessarily explain complete transparency, anyways. Lol, link to this video?

It says the following editors may have been detected: The following IJG-based editors also match this signature: GIMP IrfanView idImager FastStone Image Viewer NeatImage Paint.NET Photomatix XnView But no Photoshop listed...although obviously some editor was used to at least resize these photos down. (I have no idea how to interpret the other data on there.) And here's the zafu Kan was sitting on. Is that the "fake" shadow on the bottom left you were referring to? Anyhow, since these pics were resized down, it's even more pointless to analyze them since they won't contain the original metadata either - yet are even smaller... I also didn't see the photos of him sitting in the chair in their album..

^^^^ Great story, Scotty! It's probably pretty normal to expect a few crappy & turbulent years after starting Kunlun, imo. Expect ongoing changes and transformative shifts. The water will probably get muddier before it clears. Seems to be par for the course.. Again, then why hasn't anyone posted any? let's see some of these photos containing the more distinctive features as pointed out by me, Scotty & balance? Or if it's "so easy," let's see someone else recreate them already! Ralis, do you have a link to where these photos were originally posted? If so, we could DL them and check the metadata. That might help add some technical verification (if they weren't resized or cropped or otherwise modified and still contain it).

Well, these look more obviously faked to me because the transparent images have the same tone throughout: Whereas in Kan's pics, he has different densities fading out in different areas. I'm not saying that can't be faked.. I just don't see it as an obvious fake. And just because something COULD be faked - doesn't prove that it WAS. Again, this is like UFO pics or inkblot tests...much lies in the eyes of the beholder. I have yet to see any hard proof that his photos are faked...or real...for that matter. Intriguing, but as photos - inconclusive. Real proof is if you or reliable eyewitnesses can reliably report witnessing or experiencing the same thing live. Photos are always going to be secondary evidence by nature.

1. How are his hands distorted?2. His feet ARE moving (swinging) off the floor. 3. He's backlit from bright daylight. I agree though. Unless there's a smoking gun error, I think these photos are intriguing - but won't prove much.. They only tend to confirm bias. Believers will take them as proof, non-believers will consider them fakes. Another interesting experiment would be if someone could truly replicate a similar photo? Using Photoshop or a long exposure or whatever... However, what about your friends who allegedly saw Max disappear live? Their testimonies would be far more convincing... And why didn't they take any photos or footage?

Live, in person? Interesting, did this happen in Portland or Oregon? When exactly was this? And have any other students attained GDB yet? I recall last hearing some rumors about a very few about a year ago - but no follow-ups on them or anyone else since?
