Mixing the 5 Elements in the Dantien
gendao replied to JustARandomPanda's topic in General Discussion
Rather complicated, but interesting...thanks. -
I agree, they've fallen prey to the same ad campaign that started here a century ago...BIG TIME. It's so ridiculous - as if it takes a man to suck on a burning stick. A 2-yo could do that... In fact, there is a 2-yo in China that DOES!!! Well, I think there is going to be a wave of lung cancers in the coming decades there. It will be like the Opium War, part deux. But the government probably likes that cuz it would thin their population down. As far as IMA masters with short lifespans...there's already been several threads about it. It's a good question, but with so many factors involved...hard to pinpoint what the actual causes are? I mean, say a Taijiquan master lives until 50. What if he would have otherwise only lived to 40 and Taijiquan actually extended his life 10 years? Or what if it did the opposite, who knows??

Well, eating Fear Factor cuisine applies more to the Cantonese, in particular. As the old saying goes:

Are there differences between the various qigong practices and how do I choose the right one for me?

- I don't think you really need to. But I haven't opened my 8 extraordinary channels myself yet...so who am I really to say? - I believe the 3rd eye may open on its own eventually when your MCO opens. However, many neidan schools also focus on that "upper dantian" center as well. Some methods have involved focusing on different centers as you progress through different phases of opening.. -
I'd have to share Hundun's opinion here. Kunlun is known for producing some INCREDIBLE beginner's highs. However, don't expect this to keep progressing upwards in a steady, linear fashion. In a few months, you will settle down back to Earth, and then probably have to deal with the release of a lot of deep issues getting dug up out of your ground. This may involve a lot of physical and emotional detox. After a year or more of this, you may then find your practice growing increasingly still, more towards emptiness than bliss. Kunlun seems to do a lot of heavy organ detoxing, but qigong like zhan zhuang may be more useful for clearing out all the 20 meridians & boosting general qi & health (or when done in conjunction with). Then you have to battle the demons of distraction and boredom as you keep grinding through that phase, lol. Well, everyone's experience will be different and so mileage will vary...but I'm just giving you a head's up on what all else you might encounter. Note that detoxing and clearing blocks are actually GOOD things that all real healing systems induce. But, they're just a lot easier to bear when you're mentally-prepared and expecting them! So, do enjoy the honeymoon period right now...but just don't expect it to last forever! As Max says, for every high, there is a low... The quicker path - may also be the steeper one too.

Yea, I can relate. That's kinda my informal lifestyle and "goal" right now too. Except I try to just limit sexual contact with women, rather than forcefully retain. Pushing it to the edge and holding back is too tempting right now, plus I fear it may lead to postnatal jing stagnation... So better for me to avoid the situations, unless I'm willing to take a break & go all the way.

How does he define them? Depending on his viewpoint of them, I might be persuaded to buy this book too.

Right, well according to that calendar, 3/15 = 1/30, 3/16 = 2/1, 3/17 = 2/2...so none of the last few days were san niang shar. So what's your source, Taomeow? I do know someone who had some sudden health problems the last few days though, so I would be curious if there is some weird vibe going on?

These spin because sunlight gets absorbed by the black sides of the fins, but reflected by the white sides. Which causes the black sides ONLY to heat up, and thus the air on those sides heat up and EXPAND too. Which thus pushes the fins away...spinning them. I'd imagine body heat could do the same thing to a paper spinner. Basically, it would heat & EXPAND the AIR on one side of the "fins," causing it to spin. The keys here being air expansion. I'm sure if you lit a match and held it still there...it would expand the air and push the spinner around too. But, if you could do this using your hand to a spinner in an airtight container...then that would be more impressive.

Here's another interesting true-life story revealing a side of women that many naive men might prefer to stay in denial of: Here's the confession from his MARRIED therapist, Killian Thomas: And "happily-married" guard Lisa Mantz also wrote him a note about:

What does he mean by a negative feedback loop?

Therapeutic dosages of Nitric Oxide precursors

Uh, I think you meant laughing gas - which is used in dentists' offices. On the streets, it's sold as "whippets." -

With Viagra and other chemical aids freely available these days, elderly boners and porn star stamina aren't necessarily impressive anymore. I know some guys who have taken them and stayed hard for hours, shocking their partners (who had no idea that they were on something). But if they only knew the truth... Of course, TCM advises against using any of these unnatural crutches, and many of these guys eventually pay the price when they end up losing all erectile function at all. Anyhow, not saying that Chia or Yudelove use any of these...simply saying that it wouldn't be impressive at all if it did turn out that they were. Which we don't necessarily know off the bat. Although, I guess it would still be somewhat impressive that Chia can even score a 24-yo in his bed to begin with. Assuming he didn't pay for it...that is.

Actually, I've taken a gymnastics tumbling class before and we never did push ups. I remember doing back bridges, leg stretches, I think the splits & you could also try to hold a handstand in place, if you could. These were more warm-ups than strength training though. That was unnecessary. Your muscles would get appropriately trained from just doing the tumbling and stuff alone. I also took a Shaolin kung fu class once. Remember doing squat jumps & high kicks, but never push ups though.. Reality is also that pushing is not used a whole lot in daily tasks. For example, digging a hole, chopping wood, carrying water, etc. It's more lifting, pulling & hand-gripping movements that wear out your forearms first.

a case of insanity induced from chia style semen retention....
gendao replied to aeon's topic in General Discussion
I had the same thoughts.. Real healing is out there, the "problem" is that it takes a lot of personal effort. And since your average person has ZERO interest in doing any meditation or qigong, they are just going to settle for popping pills instead. All you can do is lead a horse to water, but the sad fact is that most will fight even that, much less choose to drink. But I guess it's like getting someone into any hobby - like car restoration or flower arranging. If they're not into it, they're not into it. Understandable, but the stakes are simply much higher when it comes to your health & well-being. Thing is, 1/5 of Americans still SMOKE, for crying out loud! Despite the fact that it is our country's leading COD and its lethality has been well-publicized for decades now. One thing liberals did in this country is replace all sense of personal responsibility with the "Generation Me" entitlement mentality. -

Here's a question for his thread: What is his definition & experience of enlightenment and can he really walk through walls? Seriously? -
Why? What necessarily makes hagar an expert on the subject and his opinion correct? Has he opened all his channels, awakened his kundalini, attained enlightenment & his immortal jalus? Is he at least in radiant health and a powerful qigong healer? Find me a skilled person of some proven abilty with the desired attainments first, and then bestow his opinions with more credibility... Nothing against hagar personally here - and maybe he could be very highly-attained...just saying that talk in general is cheap, but proof is in the pudding. So, taste each pudding first before you proclaim the best recipe! Personally, I believe that retention is after-the-fact and could even be unhealthy if forced (postnatal jing stagnation). The trick is to convert prenatal jing to yang qi (which rises like steam) - not postnatal jing (which seeks to run down & out like water) - to begin with. But if you're sexually aroused and having sex, then you've already converted it into postnatal jing (from lust). So whether or not you retain at that point, you've already missed the crucial pass. That's the big misunderstaning (IMO). Real alchemy (IMO) is about transmuting prenatal jing to yang qi - NOT converting it to postnatal jing (through lust) and then retaining it. I'm not exactly sure what your healthy options are at that point. Perhaps you could still transmute or recover it, I dunno. And ejaculating it then might be a lesser "evil" than forceful retention/stagnation. Of course, I myself am not much "attained" yet either...so that is just my opinion right now. Maybe hagar is actually right, and I'm wrong?

What's the origin of this qigong exercise?
gendao replied to David Yeh's topic in General Discussion
You may want to comment on this video and ask Michael Winn what qigong he is doing at 1:48: -
If your leg is falling asleep, your kua is too tight. Ideally, if your kua is open, your legs should not be under a lot of tension and falling asleep.. You may want to add some kua stretching in to help this.

Lol, thanks, that's about all I need to hear. I don't think I want to get GJC started with a phone call, lol... I did take a short seminar session with William CC Chen once. No offense to him (and I could be wrong), but I don't suspect he had much internal power, if any. My guess is that he was one of those devoted students with guru-syndrome who believed they could get as good as the guru by just hanging out with him a lot - instead of taking that time to practice on his own. During that seminar, I actually found Chen Zhonghua the most impressive with his crispy fajins & very smooth Hunyuan Taijiquan. And when you look his background up, you also find that this dude was also a hardcore practitioner. You reap what YOU SOW.
