Just to mention, again, if you want to get some good education from this election cycle that will serve you other places in life, read this highly reviewed (4.5 stars based on 487 reviews) book on narcissism. Super important. Not surprised... I'm guess more over the next few weeks, and more over months, years.

The previous video I posted: ... to which you responded: A follow-up video, if you look at 1m16s through to the end (1m45s) you'll see that, after violence occurred at his rally, he said he "instructed his lawyers to look into" paying for the legal fees of the person who sucker-punched the protester at his rally. It's not in jest. Inciting violence has occurred multiple times, at different rallies, and support for violence went on even after violence occurred. Lots and lots of other absurd things that shows Trump has merely the emotional development of an 8 year old bully, in a man's body. "Thin skin" doesn't even begin to cover it. ciao.
-
There are plenty of other clips of him inciting violence, if you do some simple searching. And this stuff was in the news for a while.
-
Really?, really??? So, you are brushing off the issue of a national-level candidate inciting violence at his rallies, multiple times, as merely: "unpolished", "not afraid to be himself", "anti-PC ... a decent person at heart"???
-
The contexts of the above: 1. Incites violence at own presidential rallies (plural, though I've only seen him offer to pay legal fees once). 2. 'Defends' size/functionality of own penis at presidential debate. ... both televised world wide. To me, either one of those alone would disqualify a U.S. presidential candidate. Clearly lacks really basic character development past a child level, I'd say somewhere in grade school. To me, it's just astounding that it's even a conversation. That you (or anyone) could look at even those two items and say, "yup, I support him as having maturity and judgement to run the most powerful country on earth" ... well, you're just brushing over, ... it's just flabbergasting to me. I mean, we are talking about the president of the United States (or even any country), right? Including highly complex domestic, foreign, military, diplomatic, science, environment, legal, social issues with as much gravity in real world consequences as it gets. It seems there's been some confusion of the tone, maturity and level of discernment required of a presidential candidate as with a WWF event. Huge, HUGE difference. (Odd that I feel I need to actually say that.) It's just bizarre, surreal. I keep expecting Rod Serling to pop in and explain the set-up p.s. And I get that other presidents are flawed individuals. (More than that... that *every*one has major flaws that maybe as children we assume that adults didn't have.) It's a matter of degree... that often people develop enough so that they can operate in a relatively mature and functional way through a large enough portion of their life that they ... well, so that they function (mostly, and then they deal with their 'shadow' in whatever way/s they do). For others, their lack of development becomes their predominant basis for life activity. Trump is just blatantly in the latter category. Couldn't be more obvious. If you've looked at *any* Trump material and haven't seen that already... I don't know that could present anything that would reach you. (And there's *plenty* to present, not just "left wing" - but from every direction.) p.p.s. Yup: he is playing to "the collective shadow", to the lowest common denominator, the lowest unrefined impulses, "the id". edit - re: narcissism: Some years ago I read the best rated amazon book on narcissism that I could find. It was *not* merely the colloquial use of "narcissist", but was a very deep, comprehensive hard-hitting book by a clinical professional. I find it extremely relevant to the current situation.
-
Did those others encourage people at their rallies to start fist fights with each other and offer to pay for their legal fees if they did? Did they 'defend' the size and functionality of their penises during presidential debates?
-
I find Trump to be just immediately, blatantly, shockingly ... under-developed as a human being. He is so clearly an emotional 8 year old; it's incomprehensible to me that it's even a discussion that he should be in the running *at* *all*. And yet, here he is, the GOP nominee. There is so much material ... not merely snippets, but subtantial reports and videos ... every rock that is turned over and it shows more of his poor character... not only what others say, but what *HE* says ... I suppose I could post videos of him talking and various reports of his behavior etc etc (and I might in a later post) .. but all of that is all over the place. Good luck to all of us!

The below was pasted from my journal. JadeLily prompted me to start a public thread, I agree. Have at it. NOTE: This is not intended to address an illness situation: if you're sick, see a doctor. This is intended for generally healthy people who want to gradually open all the channels as part of cultivation. And, it's not thoroughly tested. Experimental guinea-pig stage. ~~~ Ok, so I was just mulling my frustration over how f'in' long it's taking to learn the frickin' channels and I'm going to be an old man before I learn all this sh*t and there has to be a faster way (than reading through Deadman's manual pt by pt which will take yrs & yrs to pull it together at this rate). I have this rubber acupuncture doll that a friend gave me yrs ago. (edit: link is broken. Search amazon for "acupuncture model". These are rubber models on a stand, about 20 inches high, with channels and pts molded into the rubber, labels for pt names, for around US$40.) Took it off it's stand and sat down with it and... strategy: - just look where the channel goes on the doll and massage that channel on myself (especially the pts, obviously) - use Todd's suggestion (and here) of pairing channel massage vis-a-vis "6 channel theory" Bingo! That gives me a practical tool that I can use right away, without knowing (hardly) anything. Gives me a treatment + hands-on repetition of learning the channel trajectories. Of course, I can still toil through Deadman's manual all I want - but at least I don't have to wait another minute to get started on a practical use-it basis. Sh*t-howdy! 6 channel pairings, noted nicely by vortex: ... also talked about on pg 15 of Deadman's Manual of Acupuncture. ~ and from a later journal post ~ Well, I felt like I wanted a change of pace from massaging the 6 channels. Not a stop, but just a little break for evening-out and I wanted to continue acupressure. What to do? Decided to take up the listing of pts in Essential Shiatsu of the confluent pts of each of the 8 extra channels. SmI-3: governing vessel L-7: conception vessel BL-62: yang motility vessel K-6: yin motility vessel Sp-4: penetrating vessel GB-41: girdling vessel P-6: yin linking vessel SJ-5: yang linking vessel p.s. If someone feels inclined to quote & link those pts to yinyanghouse.com or acuxo.com or where-ever, please have at it. Yet another plug: If you're able to get Deadman's Manual, the pt location graphics there are quite stellar, and every page of the text "crackles with brilliance".

Favorite Bagua resources? (books, teachers, videos, etc)
Trunk replied to Trunk's topic in Systems and Teachers of
I'm looking for resources (videos) on how to do *turns* (inside and outside) for each of the 8 basic palms (aka "8 Powers" in the DGS system). Any help appreciated. -
Many thanks to admin and staff for their good work!

Mantak Chia - Looking For A Clear Picture
Trunk replied to Steven King's topic in Systems and Teachers of
In a system that is full of land mines, that book is often considered to be more disconnected from principle than most. Not recommended. imo, You'd do yourself a big favor if you throw Chia's sexual book/s and iron shirt book/s in the trash. p.p.s. The acupoints are all along du and ren, and also connect to others of the 8 extraordinary vessels, somewhat to the chakras ... and always (of course) including the arms, hands, legs, feet in connection ~ integration with energies heaven n' earth. I've never felt my "orbit" integrate so well with my physical form... "points" on the orbit get emphasized over and over in ways much more comprehensively (as described above) than just sitting and meditating on them. Since the arms and legs, heaven n' earth are involved, I guess you might call it the macrocosmic orbit ... but it is also more than that because other of the 8 vessels are involved. The studying up in Deadman's "Manual of Acupuncture" and Kiiko Matsumoto's "8 Extraordinary Vessels" has really helped me understand, and consequently effectuate - experience more deeply - what I'm practicing. Continuing to study all that. Gonna be doing this practice for a long time, lol.

That was written in November, here it is late March and I have more to say ... The "8 Powers" is mostly what I've been practicing all this time. That's how satisfying it is for me, how I feel it is continually progressing, and that it aligns with what I'm driven by in the internal arts. Undoubtedly it has martial application, but I've been doing it nearly entirely with a qigong orientation. I've focused in on the specific acupoint that correlates to each palm position... which has led me to studying the acupoints and their relation to the 8 extraordinary channels, how they work with the palm postures, and so forth. I find this to produce such strong results that, when I practice this out in nature I need to sit down for a while afterwards - my channels are circulating so pervasively strongly. I feel that each and all of it connects to the energies of heaven and earth; it really puts me in a different mode of being to practice this set. So: really, really enjoying it. Very rewarding immediately and for the long long haul. - Trunk p.s. I do want to include the warning, repeat what I said before about the video/audio quality on the longer video (the one that contains all the goodies). The quality is rough, especially the audio... I said at one point to a friend that it was like having my ears against a cheese grater. I needed to use headphones to hear clearly enough, but at the same time: rough. You are forewarned. However, it has turned out to be one of my favorite practices... so, so glad I didn't miss this one.

The hands are useful for activating the chakra/s above the head (in addition to all the others that you can get near w/ the hands) as the feet are useful for the chakra below the feet.

Favorite Bagua resources? (books, teachers, videos, etc)

Have we mentioned Sifu Matsuo on this thread? I don't think I have (?), because he's so ubiquitous on this board I thought it'd be redundant, which it is. (Matsuo thread, Dizzying DVD Collection thread, etc, etc) BUT the (which I put together, thank you very much) recently got posted to youtube and I am rather pleased, happy, excited even about it so I'm posting it here in this thread. tah-daaa! (It's the fundamental bagua video for the DGS school.) -
Vajrayana Buddhism is *way* into it. http://thedaobums.com/topic/35999-deep-centers/

The bindus / seeds, aka deep-centers (details at link, please read). along the central channel are the original "pearls" that are inherent to one's subtle structure. You can also create a pearl of energy as a way of concentrating and refining energy and moving it around (often from one bindu to another). A pearl is sometimes in the deep-center of a created qi ball aka sphere.
