The basic standing posture in the DGS system (at least from the little I've seen so far), the one that Sifu Matsuo is talking about in that video, is the "Kunlun Dragon Posture" and it is taught in this dvd, "Bagua Circle Walking ..." and I talk about it some here (includes ordering info). A lot of the DGS system is about bagua and that dvd is one of their foundational bagua dvds, commonly called the "heart of bagua" dvd. p.s. Not sure if the yt vid is on any dvd or just a clip from a talk, but what he's talking about is taught on the above dvd.

Often I just use this one exercise pulled from David Berceli's work. He has a dvd w/ a more extensive routine. Chia's Tao Yin is good, also... but I find that one exercise (linked above) to be very effective and super fast, before bed especially. You'll sleep extra sound.

Heat as an ingreident in filling the Dan Tien
Trunk replied to thelerner's topic in General Discussion
I haven't read this thread (in a rush sorry), maybe this has already been mentioned... Yeah, so, what kind of heat? .. produced by what? Hopefully, clearly, we are not talking about heat produced by sexual desire, masturbation, etc... Right? I think it's a common mistake for men to start to get some circulation in their lower ab and find they have all sorts of trapped sexual heat that is coming out. Or think that if they wank and save it that that is the heat of Alchemy. ... uh, nope, not even close. Probably, for most men, the first steps involve releasing trapped heat and actually cooling and *~harmonizing~* the energies of the LDT. Again, sorry if this point was already mentioned. - Trunk p.s. Hagar has developed a skill for talking about the deep simplicities. Really, really appreciated. -
I'm not up on astrology, know next-to-nothing about it. What's up with the astrology this year? It seems to be very tumultuous... it feels that way on the inside, to me. Yeah, the outside has been rough, too, but the inside is ... unusually... kind of being in white-water all the time. Or is it just me? I wonder if the astrology of this year is of some quality that contributes to that. Maybe some of you w/ more knowledge than I could type away. - Trunk

After five decades of cover-ups, NASA has released the real footage of the moon landing. Because of the incredible nature of the moon landing, "Holy living fuck." was all Neil Armstrong could manage when he stepped on the lunar surface. NASA officials decided the footage was not suitable for the public, so they re-filmed the moon landing in a movie studio, the footage most of you are familiar with. Finally, NASA has released the actual footage of the moon landing because they were tired of defending the obviously doctored film that has contaminated society for 43 years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW6DuPQzyBU

The phrase "rascalious reptiles" added a bit of humor to a difficult situation, that is all. I've expressed my point of view and provided links. Anything more from me at this point would just be repetitive, excessive. Everyone is free to make up their own minds and choose their own paths, of course. Opinions vary, paths vary. I have friends on all sides of this, wish everyone well.

Perhaps you didn't see Jenny Lamb's Entity Issues article that she posted at the same time that the Kunlun Book thread has been heating up? In my humble opinion, it's unrealistic to view those two discussion events as unrelated.

Does anyone else get sick after static qigong?
Trunk replied to kentucker4's topic in General Discussion
Obviously super important to stop the drinking especially in your case. imho, massage (even a 2 hr) once a week is not enough. Important to include a little bit of self-acupressure most days to complement your weekly massage + all else that you're doing. In the long run it will go a long way towards opening your channels. -
Does anyone else get sick after static qigong?
Trunk replied to kentucker4's topic in General Discussion
A couple of ideas to help you circulate and digest what you are generating in your static posture: 1. Do some kind of movement to complement your static work. Body-weight squats, for instance - but could be anything (hatha yoga, any aerobic activity like bike riding). 2. Explore self-acupressure, various things from that link - avoid anything too intense. I suggest that you include massaging the Liver channel. Both of the above will help you assimilate and process what you're generating and will help resolve (at least to some degree) the "clogged" feeling and (hopefully) some of the related thoughts. Decrease the amount of time you practice to maybe 15 minutes or so. Those are just my thoughts and are not a substitute for qualified in-person advice. best of luck, Trunk p.s. Suggest exploring self-acupressure over a long period of time. The "clogged", OCD, drinking, etc ... a number of things you said all point to this being potentially quite helpful for you over the long haul. -

Apparently Jenny Lamb (or someone from her school) has posted this morning on the topic of Entity Issues in the articles section. Also related info in the testimonials section of her website.

So, are you saying that the beneficial nagas are 'real' in and of themselves, but that any malicious reptiles are manifestations of the students' unresolved unconscious? That's clearly not a consistent viewpoint. Or are you saying that they are both the goodies and baddie reptiles are real in and of themselves, but that it depends upon the students' subconscious what they attract? In which case, we'd still have to acknowledge that, in Max's school, there is a trend of students (and others in their household, their children) being attacked by reptiles... just that your description of the mechanism varies. I'd still say that's worth knowing about before choosing to get involved. And if people choose to get involved knowingly, ok then, that's their informed adult decision.
-
Maybe you haven't read the background links here at TTBs. Especially this one. One of our previous members, very gregarious, talked to "more than a dozen" of Max's students who had trouble w/ malicious reptiles plus "three cases of non-practicing family members developing problems". This affects whole households, including children, not just direct students. It seems to me as quite deep in denial when there is open acknowledgement of the reality of beneficial nagas, Max's association w/ such, students of his frequently having experience w/ such... but when there is occurrence of malicious reptiles the conversation gets all wiggly. People simply refuse to add 2 and 2.
-
On both sides of most of the arguments is implicit acknowledgement of the premise: noticeable numbers of Max's students develop trouble with malicious reptiles. Based on that premise, the arguments then revolve around "how is that caused?", "who is responsible?", "what is the phenomena exactly?", "what are the spiritual mechanics involved?", "how best to deal w/ it?". Opinions vary, but most people on most sides of this either implicitly or explicitly acknowledge the above premise. Potential new students should be given the basis to make their own choice to participate/not, informed, at least of the basic: risk of reptile trouble. There's pretty open acknowledgement of Max's alignment with the beneficial naga (look at their main banner, for instance). re: Occasions when there is trouble of course the conversations become loaded.
-
There are risks associated w/ Max's school that beginners should responsibly be aware of, imo, before they choose to involve themselves or not. Here's the link to the background that occurred here on TTBs, having to do with malicious reptile infestations. p.s. The public relations dance around this is stubborn.

Thought I'd bump this thread as I'm getting a bit more into nauli kriya. Just doing a little every day as my stomach muscles unbind from each other and get used to the new movements. I'm finding it very useful for opening the abdomen. There are probably lots of yt vids on nauli. I'm posting Tao Semko's because I'm learning from his nauli dvd and am happy w/ it. p.s. I find that a little bit of psoas work complements nauli wonderfully.

C.G.Jung's autobiography, "Memories, Dreams, and Reflections". It's taken real work for me to relate to him in some ways, other ways a shoe-in. Good writer. The book has impact.

Lower Dan Tian Heat (GFM Vs. Embryonic Breathing)
Trunk replied to snbeings's topic in General Discussion
For many of us, me included, there's long term major work to open up the tissues of the whole abdominal region. I mean working towards fluency in basic substance, tissue, level. Often there is major work, gradually over years. ... before the tissue is free enough so that the more subtle breath work and really integrate w/ the physicality of the region. (wordy much?) Some things that've helped me in the area: psoas work: David Berceli's dvd or Chia's Tao Yin weird stomach tricks: - Tao Semko's dvd on nauli kriya - things similar to belly dancing's "belly rolls" Eric's blog on "Unwinding the Belly" is inspiring. -
Lower Dan Tian Heat (GFM Vs. Embryonic Breathing)
Trunk replied to snbeings's topic in General Discussion
My impression is that joeblast is much further along w/ breath work than I. One impression that I have, that might be useful, is that the umbilicus has a natural connection all the way through to ming men (between the kidneys). That if that relationship gets catalyzed through whatever method, that something deep occurs that has to do with the original path of the umbilicus, imho. That's the path that originally poured in foundational nourishment. -

So much to unpack in your original post. Sorry, mostly ?s. What, in your view, is embryonic breathing? .. I'll stop there, because it's the most important ?, imo. -
Check it.
