JoAnna's Raw Chicken Liver blend ... not so good for the chicken, but good for you.

Paul Jay of The Real News speaks at the Von Krahl Academy, Estonia in November 2008 (note the date of talk as some of the info is out-dated) A 39 minute video... Some quotes from the video: "The Real News Network, the fundamental idea of it, is to change the economics of journalism. What we believe is that for-profit journalism leads to compromised journalism ... it's worst on television. When you deal with commercial pressures ... news that's superficial, ... We'll question assumptions and to do that you need independent economics." "The short of it is that the political process is paralyzed in most of our countries ... and the media creates a false narrative of our lives which re-enforces this paralysis. So what we're trying to do is break this monopoly on daily news..." "We want to do a lot of coverage about solutions. We think that as much as this period is dangerous, we don't want to do news that after you watch it you just want to blow your brains out. ... We want to make solutions-news. ... There are rational solutions that can be found. ... We are going to make solutions news." "There is no such thing as terrorism as a thing in itself. There are very specific political forces that use terrorist tactics. So, the terrorism of Hezbolla, or Hamas in its fight with Israel, is a very different thing ... than what Al Queda did. There's very different political forces at work here. ..."

Ego Inflation - aka Secret Narcissism

Folks look different in their 50's+, than they did when they were 14. Things change. -
Just to mention. I find that doing the mantra silently in conjunction with visualizing the syllables at the deep-centers along the central channel. Various things that you can do with the syllables. "As small and as clear as you can". Also luminous (colors or simply golden bright), and/or spinning. Sets many of the right things in the right directions, ime. Especially with deity yoga.

I don't know if, or to what degree, mantras have changed from sanskrit -> Tibetan. I think that I'm at least partly on the same page as you re: translating to English. The English language is designed to communicate strings of concepts. The mantric syllables are tools for consciousness transformation via sound, visualization. Some written syllables are maps of the inner. Some mantric strings are the sound signatures of deities. Totally different tools for different jobs. They both just happen to be called "languages". To me the om syllable says a lot. Curved on one side, straight on the other, a dot in the middle. It's a diagram of the inner path, the vajra process. btw, I found these pictures at Visible Mantra : Buddhist Calligraphy http://www.visiblemantra.org. Seems like it might be a hip site. (Hip? Hop? Hip-hop anonymous?)

(font emphasis mine) Useful phrasing. Never heard someone say it like that, but it sounds very natural and clear.

Sonnon's Intu-Flow was big here on TTBs for a while (might be some good history threads if you search). It's his fundamental product, super simple, really good. Here's a short write-up on it. (Uh, though some people warn that their online community isn't all that fun, but the product is really good.) Yipes! Potential excellent read!!! I read the reviews of the book and here's a quote from the introduction of the book I've put it on my amazon wish list. Thank you! Yuen Biao for bringing up this book!

Welcome! As it turns out, Eric just showed up to say 'hello' here at TTBs, link. p.s. If you post questions in the main forum, you'll get a lot more answers. "The Lobby" is pretty much just for 'hellos'.

As far as sore/not-sore goes, that's unmistakable. Reasons, mechanisms for that - I'm sure I don't know. Though, impressive I'd say. I'd suggest that as you explore channels and points, that including some kind of massage will help a great deal. Especially with the heat signs that you mentioned before. Important to open channels as a complex ventilation and harmonizing system. cheers, Trunk

How are you activating the points? Focused attention? Massage? Tapping massage?

Is meditation necessary for self realization?

What a pleasure to read. -
I find that they are at the post level. There'll be a huge thread, and maybe there are 1-3 really good posts, real gems, that I'd rate high, or favorite. Plenty of other threads that have nothing in them at all... imho. Though I do think that there is value in sincerely inquiring, whatever one's accuracy of response. Engagement in the process is hugely valuable for everyone. Tags are useful only if lots of people use them as a custom. Just doesn't happen. I don't see it happenin'.

Stephen, imo, We're in desperate need of someone with your skill set. Welcome! Trunk

I've mentioned this to Sean before... and this goes to remedying a major board weakness in that once an awesome thread or post scrolls by, it's rarely looked at ever again. Newbies don't have convenient enough access to distilled history here. solution: It would be nice to be able to rate (1-5 stars) and/or mark as "favorite" posts and/or threads. The main payoff I see to that is the accumulation: someone might search for "most favorited" posts/threads, or "highest rated" posts/threads. Good way for newbies to draw upon TTB history. I suppose there'd have to be some individual utility to it, too... otherwise it wouldn't get used in the first place.

Qigong and energy work and yoga and stuff shorten your life span
Trunk replied to Teddy's topic in General Discussion
I'll be devil's advocate on this one. For life-long "exploration of consciousness" devotees, the path often gets wild. Often complete authentic training is not available at all the right times and mistakes are made. Prices are paid in health, and in many other ways. Even if a person is on the enlightenment path and does all the right things, it's a tremendous amount of work and is often rough on the body. A lot of these dangers apply even if you're going for the "profound health" path (not necesarily enlightenment). There are personality types that aren't much interested in philosophy, and are very practical down-to-earth. My observation is that these kinds of people are quite ruggedly healthy. Philosophy and personal exploration takes a lot of work; there is wear & tear. But I think that people who are really into personal exploration don't actually get a choice. How's that for optimistic? We all have our limits, and friendships also have limits. Sounds like your initial friendship with Bob ran its natural course and concluded. It's common that at that point some degree of negative patterns set in toward the ex-friend, that often never resolve. Sometimes it's smart to see when something is over, and move on. Could be that it's no longer your role to help Bob. Could be that it's likewise not a good idea to work for Bob. That's just my read from far away on the internet. Could be a total mis-read. best of luck, Trunk

Related topic, post #11. I find that sometimes when I do acupressure, that desire will recede for a while. More so with an extensive treatment on channels that clear heat (as above), but even some when doing something as simple as thumb-twiddling the little orbit's acupoints. p.s. If you want a free convenient internet filter that requires no software: OpenDNS.com.

I've mostly stopped experimenting with tonic herbs and have settled on occasionally having JoAnna's chicken liver blend. Super cheap. Nourishing and circulating. p.s. Ok, well, I do often put goji berries and american ginseng in it. Still, way cheaper than herbs in capsule form.
