  8. Bardor Tulku Rinpoche talk

    Sweet.
  9. Sun and Moon Gazing

I do sungazing, but only for a few minutes at a time, and not every day. Not always absorbing through the gaze, various ways. I'm careful to circulate much of the sunlight to my LTT: I find it refining and stabalizing.
  10. Accessable Self-Acupressure

I think after some experimentation, a few months, a year.. I'm curious as to how some of this has worked out for us then. Anyone who wants to bookmark this thread and contribute later, that'd be cool to have an occasional update/s here.
  11. Apology

Why, youuuuuuu, I oughta! ... Just DON't let it happen again!!!
  12. Sonnon's work is "sinew-changing for everyone". "Sinew" is the continuum of connective tissue: fascia ~ tendon ~ ligament ~ marrow. Runs through the whole body, in Chinese medicine some nourishment runs through the "sinew channels". In internal martial arts, it's what allows the whole body to move as one and is a big part of how heaven ~ man ~ earth integration. Hard to find a good internal martial arts instructor (and complicated). Sonnon provides accessable simple methods, by focusing on the joints: where the different layers of the connective tissue meet. p.s. Some emotional material will come out (and hopefully sort out) as a result of this work, but don't expect it to be do everything vis-a-vis emotions.
  13. Accessable Self-Acupressure

The ordinary 12 meridians are energy-in-use, like money in your pocket. The 8 extraordinaries are deeper back-up energy, like money in the bank (that you've inherited and that you've saved). If you're able to take care of all your needs and produce some more, then you can take some $ from your pocket and put it in the bank. Do that well, often, and your fortune will grow. If you burn through the $ in your pocket and are constantly dipping into your bank account, you're going to gradually thin your reserves. That help? Trunk
  14. Accessable Self-Acupressure

Idquest, Adeha, The 8 extras are "deeper" than five element energy, such that they aren't 'felt' as much. The energy is drawn deep to replenish deep store-house, and so you don't feel it out and around in use. Chia's basic intent with fusion was right, I think: 1) Fill & harmonize the five element energies, and 2) then go deep with it into the 8 extras. ~ Repeat. (Pace yourself, take time off, as you feel is appropriate.) I've only started doing this 6 channel & 8 extra confluent pts very recently, but it strikes me (by results so far) that it's a much more real approach to addressing the organ energies as described by Chinese medicine (and Taoism). Not that people don't get benefit from meditating on their organs, becoming aware of them in a loving way - really important. But 5L meditation alone, imho, is far from fully addressing the task. Like I said, I've only been doing the full meridian massages for a little while, so I'm kind of being a big-mouth here, but the detoxing, the body-openings and harmonizing have all been way way more serious than any 5L meditation that I've done. (And, yeah, I know, everyone is different. It's all good.) cheers, Trunk p.s. Adeha, I gotta re-read and read up on your info. Thanks!
  15. Your own videos

Gaaaaahhhhh! That was fab-u-lous! (I'm only 6:05 into the nine minute vid, and had to take a break and write this. ) Trunk

  17. What's up with those pictures?

self-acupressure, shiatsu... If someone has a real illness, then the method that I linked to (link) is not appropriate: they should see a doctor. The context for the self-acupressure I'm talking about is for someone who is basically healthy, and wants to gradually open all of their channels as part of cultivation. Not many books written (in English) for that context, as far as I know. "Essential Shiatsu" is the only one that I've found. NOTE: This is worth a new thread: I've started this as a new topic here.
  18. What's up with those pictures?

Uh... could be. Obviously I'm delighted to finally find simplified access to self-acupressure, and I think that it's clear that "opening the channels" is a fundamental part of process - yet it's largely ignored in the east~>west spiritual movement. And, yup, many practices (breathing, stretching, sitting, qi gonging) open channels to some degree. ... but that's hugely different from systematically massaging all of your channels and pts, repeatedly, over a period of time. Reference the thread entitled John Chang video (link) and read the posts by Sean Denty (former HT instructor).
  20. Kunlun 1 - deep breathing & heartbeat

There are often differences of pressure amongst the lower, middle, and upper. With integration exercises this (at best) gets exposed and evened out some, harmonized maybe even. Sounds like you're depressurizing a bit from your lower and it's a bit much for your upper. Slow your practice some (maybe shorter sessions, maybe less frequently), if you feel that's appropriate. Do any exercise that you like that circulates blood (biking, swimming, etc.). Give things some room to even out. Part of 'basic training' is learning to breathe comfortably deep. During practice your breath should be comfortably deep (not shallow) and several times a day you should simply notice your breath and - if you're breathing shallow, notice your mood and shift to a deeper breath. It's a big key. cheers, Trunk
  21. What's up with those pictures?

Yeah, but what happens if you think that I think that its impossible to emit energy from the hands as LIGHT? (I'm warning you, I'm a master at oragami!)
  22. What's up with those pictures?

Oh, geez... not the old make-it-into-the-students'-faults trick. That's the second time I've fallen for that this month!
  23. What's up with those pictures?

I haven't had personal interaction with you, but those who have around here generally have good impression of you. There's a vibe of respect that feels genuine to me. So speaking of avatar picture exclusively, it isn't obviously notable by itself. Looks like plenty of pictures I've taken of lots of folks in various lighting, when some part of them gets a little washed out / over-exposed. Your experience might've been that they were glowing, and maybe they were, but it's not at all obvious from your avatar photo to this casual passer-by. Trunk
