An excellent documentary that is related to your topic is Red State. I found it to be very well done. -
Essay called crystal in uranus (link), written by Owl and posted to my site. The prostate was a major topic in the community some years back. Worth searching on.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks, guys & dolls!

Here's an idea that I mailed to Sean, but he's too busy, and I've got a full plate already. Might be a fun idea for any of you with graphics arts background + interest...
-
I think there's going to be a number of these, with variations of method, and any number of people might make them to add to the discussion over time. For instance, you emphasized the front expanding and contracting. There's also e/c equally to front & back, or just back. Then there's reverse breathing. The boring shape is a good starting pt for whichever variation, and for whomever might want to tinker with others. imho. ~ later edit ~ I mean, what if we want the side view of a torso?: I'm for an oval, tall up on its end, maybe with a belly button, maybe an oval head. Blobs are cool, and figure drawing even more so, but they're not the right tool for this job, imo.
-
Good start. imho, the starting shape would best be boring-simple. Something like...
-
imo, that's what it should be. Super simple ovals to represent a cross-section of the lower torso... but no detail, no shadings, no organs (etc) drawn, not a figure drawing. Maybe one single animated oval for LTT breathing, probably two (one inside the other) for reverse. Obviously, once put on a web-page (or posted for discussion in a TTBs thread) some little text will be written below each graphic, but not as a part of the graphic itself. Steady smooth inhale~exhale. Approx count of 5 for each. Like butter. This is not a clenching approach to method.
-
R'on. I'm hoping/assuming the gimp program + some simple graphics (ovals) will be able to do it - but I have no fancy graphic experience, so I'm not sure.
-
Well, let's just keep the dream alive and it'll happen someone somehow sometime. No rush.
-
woo-hoo! p.s. Just to be clear, I'm interested in the moderate breathing practices: regular LTT breathing to start, maybe reverse. Not sealed off & squeezed in from all sides (packing breathing).
-
Nope.... but I renew the invitation to anyone who wants to contribute, w/ or w/out graphics experience. Could be a simple animated gif made with the free graphics program GIMP and some ovals drawn in ms-paint. If they're worth while (needn't be complex, the simpler the better) I'd include them at my site with a thank you!. It'd be good for the community.

Some of the stretches also a bit much for this old man, but I'm finding acupressure (in general) + stretching to be a powerful combination. Really feels good! I'm the type that I'd often have to do more strength work to warm up & relax. I have a thick build; stretching has always been a little more difficult for me, less interesting. Acupressure + stretching is making stretching more genuinely interesting and helpful for me than it has been before. Sweet! Wow, good results for just a few days!!! Like I said, I've been doing more acu in general. I'll have to experiment with the yoseido 8 pts. I'm being all nerdy about it and got the book, reading it first. Trunk

The deal is to be able to vibrate different areas of the body with different tones. Forget about the vocal chords. With the very low tones your perineum should vibrate. The higher tones vibrate glands in the brain. That sort of thing.

I bet I take the cake. Too much time on my hands. Please don't post the embarrassing stats!

To complete the list from my last post, (free mp3's from Mark Griffin of HardLight, that have "kundalini" or "shaktipad" in the titles): "Kundalini and the Power of Time" parts 1, 2, 3. Mark's main offering, the main part of the study at HL, is transmission. 99% hardly begins to cover it. You could have zero interest in yogic terminology and still be an excellent HL student. (And it almost doesn't even matter what you practice, as long as you include still sitting.) The students who get the most out of it, imho, show up and sit and never (or almost never) ask questions nor participate in the external dialogue. When I was sitting there regularly, one of my friends wouldn't even be aware of what had been said for most of the meeting. If the lecture was extra-spectacular, I'd call him and say, "you've gotta hear last night's lecture" (that we were both at the night before) and he'd get the recording. Not that Mark isn't a really good lecturer, but you've clicked into what this style of teaching~studying is really about. The streaming membership includes regular meetings and one intensive. Intensives are during the day (PST), invariably on a weekend. Even if you just streamed the intensive, it would be way worth your while. However, as a first step that'd be a doosie. I'd suggest that, at a minimum, you attend (stream or in-person) at least one regular meeting before you attend an intensive. It'd give you an easier introduction, allow you to become a little familiar, warm up your navigation skills to the new experience, allow your system to acclimate to the new vibe a bit. If you have technical or logistics ?'s, there's contact info at the HardLight site (e-mail form & ph#). cheers, Trunk

Lezlie, Very sweet pic of you & Sean. Your art really comes through your choice of photos. When you had your site up with your art photos, I was similarly impressed. Talented. Keith

Freeform's response inspired me to listen to some recording of MG (Mark Griffin, the Teacher at HardLight) on my ipod shuffle. *modern dharma* I'd forgotten how much high vibe comes through a recording. Sometimes it's just like listening to anyone, talking along. Other times, for sustained periods, Mark is clearly in altered states and I get a soak of very unusually pure energy. Unmistakable, clearly palpable, I get a really deep buzz. Based on that, I think the streaming audio over a high speed line is an intriguing opportunity to sit with Mark during HardLight live meetings, while you're anywhere in the world. Especially since the formal meditation time is edited out of the recorded talks and obviously not from the live streaming audio. This style of Teaching~Studying is mostly about transmission. This is an opportunity to sit regularly with what would be, in the Tibetan tradition, a high end vajra master. Ok. So, here's a list of links to HardLight mp3's that have "kundalini" or "shaktipad" in the titles. Kundalini is prominent in Mark's tradition and he has an impressive technical grasp (based on direct experience), and is well spoken. Enjoy. Awakening Kundalini What is Shaktipad? Kundalini and the Subtle Body There is one other talk, "Kundalini and the Power of Time", which is in 3 parts but there's a link problem and so I'll post that talk when the links are sorted out. cheers, Trunk

Oh, Sean! Sorry that you had to see so (obviously) repeatedly and up-close that you can describe it perfectly. (and glad for everyone that got away from him and healed up, healthy, happy.)

Just got Re-Covers by Yat Kha. Mongolian throat singing, some albums traditional, others applied to different genres. Z5FqWPeDZM8 4j3gZxT5zVk

Wasn't implying that you were battlesome. Could be we had an e-nuance-loss. Oh, there we go. Everyone builds knowledge (hopefully) based (mostly) on their experience. Nuttn' wrong w'dat. I've had experience putting nitro in my VW gas tank and it... took some getting-used-to. Had to look that one up. OMG!, yummmmm.
