The motif is more usually referred to as "riding the ox home", not uncommon in asian art. Might help in your search.

The muscles closer to the spine tend to be more important for 'internal' work, including emotional stuff. Some are specific odd (and effective), like "the 100"... but sometimes its just taking a regular ab exercise and shifting your attention closer to your spine - and it turns into a whole other exercise (and generally needs to be done gentler, smoother, slower).

Are there any good books or web sites
Trunk replied to innerspace_cadet's topic in General Discussion
Boredom is often an initial block with spiritual practices. Often, in the beginning, simply nothing happens, it's not satisfying, and kind of grueling. ime, that part of it you just have to weather through - things do get better after you get things rolling, takes a little while. The trick is just to pick some very modest amount of time (people often start with 10 minutes for meditation) and just do it every day. Just gruel through it. It's that bad. -

Kan & Li shows up in different ways in different schools. There's a variety of methods and depths to mixing and transforming. The Book of Balance and Harmony talks about different versions of this. (If I can find the passage I'll post it.) One that I remember, not sure where I first heard it, is "putting conscious knowledge under real knowledge". That in mundane consciousness, conscious knowledge normally rises and dominates as a kind of frenetic unanchored false heat and we lose the presence of real knowledge. And that a primary version of kan & li is to submit conscious knowledge to real knowledge. And - from a certain point of view - without that, none of the alchemical formulas are going to work but will only end up in a tangle. And that, with that, any of the methods will work. (Somewhat of an exaggeration, but you get my point.)

Not a clue, but diggin' your prose.

I'd agree that the above is the basic instruction, "relax as best you can" being implicit in that. I've also found that it's important to do some things before still standing: - joint warm-ups, including squats - self-acupressure

If those are links to pirated videos (that is, videos that MWinn or anyone else sells, but put there for free) then it the links are definately against the rules of the forum. If so, please edit your post and remove the links. -
A surprising thread. Lots of variety on TTBs, always has been. Also, as-if this is a democracy: it's not. Sean is the dictator, and he's very lenient. ~ later nearly-irrevelant edit ~ 5IvPIWzQcUY

I know there was a little confusion sometimes because in one place the forum logon asks for user-name + pw, and in another it asks for e-mail address + pw ... (not sure if that is still the situation). Could that be it?

Has anyone tried the Mind Light Nei Gung System by Gary Clyman?
Trunk replied to Yasel4life's topic in General Discussion
Looking at his body, I'd agree that he has some development. His personality was just so outrageous that I literally couldn't stand to watch his video. So, in my case, the latter element was just too much: "your reaction may vary". -

Bumped into this picture on the web, just had to add it to this old thread...

A few links re: the lineage you mentioned: TraditionalTao.com is the group that SeanD hangs out with. The FTF is their forum (fee involved). Here is a blog of one of Wang Li Ping's students. Welcome!

For responses about the person in your topic line, use the search tool at top. Plenty said about 'm previously. -
I've been using GIMP. It's a free image manipulation program rec'd to me by Sean, download from http://www.gimp.org/ . You need to create a layered image, and save it as a gif file.

You're both right, imo, and the key is balance and harmonious integration. Some people need more work initially in order to correct imbalances so that they can circulate, integrate, more energy harmoniously. Too much too soon and it's gonna cause trouble. Agreed that gradual work is one of the keys. Other people have a structure and energetic system that can integrate, harmonize increased voltage closer to right-away. In any case, whether it's natural for you immediately, or whatever amount of work and discovery it takes, a more balanced system integrates more energy for benefit.
