  1. Best TV shows ever

Land of the Giants, coooolllll! beat up half the bad guys, say a speech and enlighten the rest. make-out with the hot alien girl, head back to the ship. what-a-life! How about?: The Invaders I saw that series when I was very young, and it gave me nightmares.
  2. Massage 101

Synchronous, I've been experimenting much more with massage again lately. What did you wow your friends with? Of the stuff on my hitting page, the bongers are most widely usable. I had one sitting in my room for years and never did anything with it. JoeBlast mentioned it in a thread, and now I've been exploring with it and am so impressed - use it often.
  3. Intromafluction

    Welcome to your eloquent self!
  4. Why celibacy and not retention?

None jump to mind that do that explicitly and clearly. But tons where the spirit behind the book is at least clearly "in bounds" along that line: Chia/Winn's books (which I don't generally recommend for other reasons), Margo Anand's books, almost every generic relationship book I've ever picked up. And, don't get me wrong, I'm for healthy exchange - physically and energetically. And I think that most men enjoy 'giving' (ej.) occasionally, and that it's healthy, and that the woman should receive in whatever way is pleasurable, good for her... But the attitude behind the white tigress book was just way, way into "out of bounds" territory. If you're curious, I'd suggest you browse at a bookstore before paying $ for it. The person who lent me the book said something along the line of "attitude between consenting adults" is everything. The attitude in that books was way way wrong, and I have a hard time even beginning to describe it just now. Though the word "parasitic" returns. * yuck! * * wants to throw away book a 2nd time * This reminds me of the pua (pickup artist) thread some while back, and someone posted a video of "Mystery". I could see that the guy was confident, charismatic, and had system, skills. (And I think social skills are important; men should learn them.) But my primary response was that I wanted to take him aside and start breaking ribs. He felt "morally vacant" in important way/s that I haven't yet pin-pointed, can't currently describe, but that I feel are essential.
  5. Why celibacy and not retention?

A friend lent me a copy of the "white tigress" book, and I found it to promote a parasitic attitude/practices with the idea that they'd promote health and spiritual advancement. I'm usually not one to use such words; I usually think - by far - that most people want healthy exchange, not vampirism. This book did not have exchange in the context of deeper principles, as far as I saw. discliamer: I didn't read the whole book by a long shot, but samplings of pages and then threw it away.
  6. Why celibacy and not retention?

I really come back to my simple previous statements: 1. People vary 2. a person varies over time I (at least partly) understand the draw toward celibacy and retention and desirelessness. I've felt it myself a great deal. That stuff has a strong aesthetic appeal, and as I've been exposed to 'high states', the whole body wants to be stably immersed in such states. And I can see that there are advantages for those that accomplish such things: tidy, powerful. But that doesn't mean that it (celibacy, etc) has been practically sustainable over the long term, for me. And it ain't just me. There are plenty of extremely accomplished teachers who have (sometimes notoriously, sometimes on a more low key basis) had compulsory draw towards regular sexual sharing. It really comes down to harmony. If you can harmonize in retention, etc, good for you. But if you can't, then determined long term attempts at such are likely to cause ... (wait for it) ... dis-harmony. * badoom-bam *
  7. As a result of the previous hitting thread, I've been exploring a lot since January, just beefed up the hitting section (link) at my site. Basically, a progression of: 1. hitting acupoints and along channels The bonger I find to be the most amazing thing for hitting points, and along channels. 2. vibrating the core bonger: low abdomen rubber mallet: mid-abdomen rubber ball: rib cage
  8. Chanelling qi through love.

Oh, sheesh! Now we're going to have to listen to another wild story of "partying with celebrities at Degoba"!
  9. Self-Hitting Massage (revisited)

Think this guy (youtube video link) has any blockages in his solar plexus? (or anywhere else in abdomen, for that matter).
  10. Chanelling qi through love.

It's singular, and in reference to a tree. A teacher that I sat with, Mark Griffin, spent some time with Kalu. Says he was "extremely enlightened".
  11. Mostly the wrong topics to try and organize behavior and/or practice around, imo. 1. People vary. 2. Each person varies over time. So, narrow rules are often counter-productive. Do whatever promotes harmony, for how you actually are. And, yeah, it's nice to discover and practice the promotion pathways of jing to Bigger Non-Stuff .. but that doesn't have a line-by-line relationship as to whether you're celibate, or not, or ejaculate, or not.
  12. Kunlun compatibility with meditation

Sounds like you have a good feel. Past some of the physical opening there are pockets of quiet space. You might consider doing some physical warm-up prior to kunlun (or at some other period of the day, even). Such as intu-flow (opens up the connective tissue) and self-acupressure (opens up points, channels) and/or whatever works for you.
  13. Spring Forest Qigong

    Link?
  14. Gene Kelly

I saw a reference to Gene Kelly recently, just watched this youtube video of him. The various body work that I've done (and attempted to do) has given me more appreciation for physical accomplishment over the years. I see more about .. how relaxed, integrated, strong, artful.. I appreciate more. I don't know if I would've really liked this 20 years ago but now, gaaaahhhhh, I have to pick my jaw up off of the floor after watching this clip. I find Charlie Chaplin to be similar. Here's , if the the video isn't coming through here. Vw-qlHuktJs Who is it in media, that you admire their art? .. post a clip ..
  15. Chakras and Mantras

Going through them all, top to bottom. om = head mma = down through the throat mani = going to heart (last part "ee" especially with heart) peme = solar plexus area hung = down through lower centers My experience is that the fewer syllables the better, as far as resonating chakras. One, or maybe two, syllables for a chakra. Sometimes a tone covers more than one chakra. A pattern of a short mantra is often a map of how a certain deity tends to express, and is much more powerful when combined with simple deity yoga (incense, bell, water or fruit offering, mantra). Something that you might search is "seed syllables" for the chakras. Long mantras and long mantra chanting - especially in groups - have a place, and are really good for resonating resonating resonating. But once sensitivity has been opened up, the very short mantras ... the tones have very specific effects. p.s. If you want to hear a group really physically resonate their lower centers, check out the Gyuto monks, play it on a decent sound system.
  16. Best TV shows ever

"All in the Family" "You Bet Your Life" - Groucho Marx "All in the Family" was *brilliant*, way, way ahead of its time. And just as relevant now as it ever was. In "You Bet Your Life", you really get to see Groucho interact with people in a very relaxed way. He was a GIANT ... his presence, his level of intelligence, way of putting people at ease, pushing the comedic envelope while still not being censored. (This was between 1947-1961, so things had to sound very nice and ok while still saying risque funny stuff.)
  17. Max's Gamma Radiation

Whatever, .. I've heard that he's chillin' these days... ... life after super-hero stardom ...
  18. Max's Gamma Radiation

You had me grinning interested laughing through the whole thing... Post gets 5 *'s.
  19. "Death Before Dying" / Psychosis in Training

To address the not-exotic sort of trauma, PTSD... some of which I think I can relate to as I've had my own version of this (which I'd rather not write out for the whole www). .. and I've been talking to a friend of mine re: this and the more recent experiments in my process re: hitting and "vibrating the core". That, if you look at a person as a series of layers, like concentric circles, that while experiencing stress we try to "ward off" and endure it as best we can, not allowing it to penetrate too deeply into our physical and energetic selves. When we are over-whelmed, when our defenses (literally) can't bear the stress, then some outter-more layer collapses and the trauma penetrates to inner-more circles of our body. So, over-whelming unbearable trauma can get penetrate to "the core". And we contract around that trauma and wall it off (physically, psychologically, etc.). How to get to such a deep trauma? Difficult issue. One possible solution, certainly not everything, not necesarily for everyone. As I mentioned (see link above), how I've been doing it recently is activating "rivers" into, through, out of such areas, and then "vibrating the core". ~ later edit ~ Well put. Good topic.
  20. "Death Before Dying" / Psychosis in Training

Keep adding higher vibrations, and lower vibe stuff dissolves. Some of this is recognizably small pockets of 'junk' - but as you keep going more & more refined you'll find that major portions of your personality structure will give way. It's temporarily yet profoundly disorienting, and an inevitable part of the path. You'll be challenged to build a higher-vibe you, and it goes far beyond normal ideas of "being a better person". If you hang around "fast path" social circles, you'll occasionally hear that insanity is a risk. You start getting into areas of spiritual mechanics, technology, skillful means. Strategies to help cope: 0. Pace yourself. In the beginning people tend to pedal-to-the-metal, and think that they can endure anything. Chalk it up to youthful enthusiasm. There's also brakes, steering, and easing off the gas - and all that is useful. 1. Experience. Part of this is that you just get used to it. 2. Breathe. 3. Take refuge in emptiness. 4. Take company in a heavenly lineage. A group of ascended enlightend beings that hang out together in a 'heaven'. Such associations add not only power, purity, but organized structure. 5. Internal martial art, to integrate heaven~earth through your physical structure. 6. Bindus. Some of the above have to do with integrating powers that are bigger than yourself in skillful ways such that they both transcend individuality as well as support cohesive structure.
  21. Greetings from the monotheistic sea goddess

Sweet intro. It's really gratifying to read the intro's. Some people, "oh, another just like me" and "a mix I never thought of, people are so unique", humor, human-ness. Welcome.
