  2. The Deadly Huashan Hiking Trail

I feel sorry for the mail man.
  3. safety of mantak chia's practices

Well, specifically regarding the view that "semen retention has its' dangers", I think it's genuine because I've observed similar patterns of disharmony in myself, and in other community members, over about a decade - totally independent of Denty, Verdesi, etc. (didn't know them). Plus about 25 yrs experience on a broad and eclectic path. Plus the difficulties align with Chinese medical theory. p.s. If you want the chemistry theory, you'd have to go to Dr. Lin's site.
  4. safety of mantak chia's practices

Enough people get hurt that it's been very noticable in the cyber-community. Problems typical to this sort of mis-practice. Wow. You didn't even read the bolded part of the quote.
  5. safety of mantak chia's practices

Dangers of semen retention (link). Yes (link). Tricky question.Yes, it's possible. Inherent on a spiritual path, especially one of energy cultivation, is the possibility that K will awaken. In (at least some of) the eastern cultures, the spiritual path is just known to have (big) risks. The Taoist 'technology' works on opening the channels, developing lower center and earth connection. If K opens after you've developed some of this, it'll be safer (though not 'safe'). If K doesn't open, maybe you'll still benefit. Too many to mention. Best of luck to us all.

  8. Kunlun For Those With Awakened Kundalini?

Probably there are a variety of reasons for different sounds along the way... One explanation - and I'm not saying that this is your situation, just one possibility to consider... "Tinnitus" is "ringing in the ears". Per western medicine, there is nothing for it. Chinese medicine recognizes two different kinds: high pitched tone, and low pitched. The former is indication of liver deficiency and the latter kidney. It's yin deficiency (in this view). It wouldn't be too surprising that tinnitus 'd be there in the presence of K, since K is extreme yang. ~ later p.s. ~ I'm not a doctor, and there're probably plenty of details I've missed on this issue - you might reference a TCM book.
  9. I like "book club". If it gets changed, it should still be a name that recognizably (to a newbie) says what this is.
  10. Kunlun For Those With Awakened Kundalini?

Here's the link to sambhavi at AYP, and a post about it from their forum. (Not sure if that's the same version as you're familiar with.) Powerful maneuver. I'd want to be more clear how it integrates with the yogic procedure as a whole. A lot of people here have been happy with AYP... Red Phx has a different result~feel to it, is a different method (but in the region of the brain as I said before). And I'm not clear how it integrates with the kunlun system. How's that for a lot o' nuthin?
  11. Yoga Guy Visiting

    * wipes tear * That's a keeper. Welcome.
  12. Kunlun For Those With Awakened Kundalini?

Max teaches a method called "Red Pheonix", which has to do with this area of the brain. I've worked with it only a little and so couldn't really describe the purpose/effects well. But it's in the same geographic area. It's taught after someone well establishes basic kunlun. It's simple. Though no one here will describe RP out of respect for Max, I wonder if you'd be generous with a reference for sambhavi mudra? I'd be interested.
  13. Kunlun For Those With Awakened Kundalini?

Well put. My understanding is that kunlun could be a good thing for someone with awakened-K (as long as it's in a smooth-mellow way), but that probably you'd need to pace yourself more gently (shorter sessions, per your own feel for what is going on). Just my .02.
  14. new guy, same path

    Welcome!
  15. Microcosmic circuation

Chris, Thank you for the well wishes. kind regards, Trunk
  16. Microcosmic circuation

(emphasis mine) Mostly agreed. Well put. Though I couldn't vouch for all of the extraordinary channels, nor even all the ordinary. Some of which I'm not familiar enough to recognize even if they reached out and goosed me. Some things I am somewhat familiar with, though, and I don't buy that kunlun does everything. (Maybe for some fortunate few it does; I can't comment on others' experience.) It strikes me as simplistic and over-stated. Which, of course, puts me in an awkward position to even say this stuff. A teacher says something in the vicinity of "this does everything" and, personally, I disagree. In my experience there's a big difference between being willing to learn, open to experiencing new things, change one's views according to new experience, appreciative (and even loving), as contrasted with "parking one's brain at the doorstep". I just won't do the latter. And I'm not saying that anyone is encouraging me to do that, just that teacher/student social dynamics often have that difficult area. Anyway, ime, happily observe and agree that "it does a lot".
  17. Microcosmic circuation

My experience is that the kunlun practice is the mco (link) (in addition to some other stuff).
  18. Moving back to Atlanta

Very positive. Congrat's! And to Sean & Lezlie, * wow! *.
  19. Jing Stagnation & the Prostate

I don't know. Ask joeblast. (Call them?)
  20. Jing Stagnation & the Prostate

The standard price was $295 when I bought mine in November, then they bumped it up to $395 for a "Christmas special". Now they're wigglin' back down.
  21. As I already mentioned: lower tan tien breathing (link) through various physical positions while on a vibration platform. In my opinion, this is by far the most effective remedy and preventative for your sort of situation. (...that is available to average-joe-qi-gong-experimenters such as ourselves.) You should re-frame your qi gong pursuits to simply promote harmony within your normal sexual cycle. And work on a life-style that likewise supports harmony for your natural sexuality. Drop any "extraordinary pursuits" with your sexuality. There are times to indulge, and times to go work out instead - you know the difference, navigate your own ship. Unlikely that a male your age will feel peaceful and relaxed without sharing with a partner. Most of the advice of "100 days", celibacy, retention, etc., is suited for (some) advanced practitioners. Most men it will only frustrate and, if continued too long, injure. cheers, Trunk ~ p.s. ~ I hope I didn't come off as short, here, didn't mean to be. I know you asked a lot of ?'s that I didn't answer. I just tried to be brief and to the central points, as I see them.
  22. Jing Stagnation & the Prostate

See my post in the other thread.
  23. Probably a combination of stagnation and deficiency. The problem is that you can't well nourish the area until the stagnation is resolved; it blocks the flow of fresh blood etc. (Reference: Healing Love Dangers.) Trying to save more semen just makes the tension worse (unless you are very proficient at harmonizing, which almost no one is). It's long been recognized, here, that harmonious retention is an advanced skill - and if you save what you're incapable of harmonizing then you're just storing trouble. Stagnation in this area is stubborn to resolve. The magic solution, imo, is lower tan tien breathing in various positions while on a vibration platform. Secondarily, the use of a crystal wand, 2-3 times a week while you are in the shower might also be helpful. Diet and so forth can be helpful, but until the stagnation resolves you're in a tough spot. Unlikely that a western doctor can help you at all. How long have you been attempting retention? (Your description is like a classic case of retention-gone-wrong, btw.) best of luck, Trunk
