Are "hard" martial arts an obstruction for those on the path of Neidan?

I just see lot of yang in Chen taiji. Yang is more yin. -

Heās manifesting Peng, Lu, Hwa, Na and Fa. One of my senior taiji friend attended his seminars, touched hands with him and says the guy has real skill. I believe it. in my practice set too I have many āpalmā standing meditations that look like bagua palms. But itās part of how Iāve been taught taiji meditations. We call them prayer hands. I donāt think internal concepts are that different across the IMA. -
Big fan of Gurdev Nidar Singh Nihang whose videos and photo you have posted. I'd love to go and talk to him, spend time with him. He expresses internal energies too...

What is your goal? Why do you want to start these practices?
-
That is a major aspect of it.

Do a moving system like yang style taijiquan. Better than seated meditation for beginners

if thatās the case then one doesnāt have the choice to become āunattachedā as well. Which we know is possible (to become unattached). Attachment is a choice, always. But it is rooted in ignorance of oneās true nature. Did you have an attachment to anything when you were a baby? Not even to your mother. You were empty and free really. Attachment comes with the mind. As we grow up.

The Relationship between Effort and Power

Very nice -
Did you have a choice in being born? Do we have a choice in whether weāre going to die? We are living because we were born and will do so until we die. Where is the need for attachment?

The Relationship between Effort and Power

Real Power is effortless. As simple as taking a breath. It follows the natural course of things. -
This is one attachment one should have until they have realized/awakened. He was not attached to his meditation but to his burning desire to learn how to be free from suffering. Meditation was just a means to an end.
-
Anything you canāt let go of is an attachment.
-
Of course I do and I am happy and honored to be your friend

š Thatās why I used āweā and not āyouā dear MH.

Positive or negative, attachments bind us. Why be attached when we can be free?

The Purva Mimasakas were focused on Rta or cosmic Order/harmony. All the rituals etc were with focus on Rta (the name Rita comes from that).

One of Lord Shivaās greatest devotees was Ravana, the demon king of Lanka, who was the main antagonist in The Ramayana, the story of Lord Rama (avatar of Lord Vishnu). Ravana was a Brahmin and a great scholar and very knowledgeable in the Hindu scriptures . He has even moved Lord Shiva with his prayers and austerities to bless him with boons. However the biggest flaw in Ravana was his massive ego (represented by his 10 heads). It goes to show that works of such power and beauty and transcendence can come from a demon like Ravana too. Hereās a nice version of it ā

There are three types of Karma Sanchita (accrued) Karma - This is the bank account of Karmic effects Prarabdha (activated) Karma - This is what has already been set into motion in this lifetime Agami or Kriyamaan Karma - This is stuff we will accrue with more action in future Of the three, 1 and 3 can be negated by a Master or other Beings and/or by the individual through acquisition of knowledge. It is usually a combination of both. The "Master" or "Other Beings" are none other than the Self presenting itself and it's grace to the seeker (individual). 2 is not possible to negate, even after Self-realization. It is likened to an arrow that has been fired and will stop when it runs out of momentum. The Self-realized person will however not suffer any longer due to this Karma as the karma is in the domain of the body-mind. The Self is eternally free.

Not a good idea. Please don't give such advise.

Looking around on TBD and there seems to be some apprehension about doing two-person and group energetic practices. Could some people share thoughts on why it might not be a good idea to do these types of practices? The way I see it is that such practices are usually effective only when at least some people have transcended the seeming duality of existence and therefore can share presence more freely. When done between a seasoned practitioner and a neophyte, this is called shakti pat in some traditions. This is a great thing so long as there is no dependency formed on any or all sides. It helps release many subconscious mental patterns and habits and can help people open their chakras gracefully and allow Kundalini to rise to the crown and beyond. If someone knows there is no real duality between him/herself and another, they can share presence without any effort. Such a sharing of presence will not deplete any one individual, because the source and access to this energy/consciousness is infinite. A neophyte might initially experience tiredness as his/her mind space expands beyond the normal boundaries. But the system auto-adjusts and the flow of energy (which is infinite, everywhere, and always available) fills in the additional space created by the mental expansion. What is the risk? What are some of the fears people might have about such practices?

Yeah I understand what you said Was saying that we *CAN* (and DO) know if we listen carefully, only the ego overrides it as a reaction.
