  1. Om is Brahman

There is Brahman and then there is ParA-Brahman.
  2. Reality vs. Unreality

Nothing to do with either karma or destiny or free will. Anything that happens is as it has to happen. Even work can be done while being relaxed. Being relaxed doesn't have to mean being inert.
  3. Reality vs. Unreality

That you who is projecting all this is Calculus and beyond itself Just relax and witness. What has to happen is going to happen anyway
  4. There have been conversations about "enlightenment" and how and whether a truly liberated jivanamukta (freed from cycle of reincarnation while in living body) can function in the world. http://www.advaitin.net/Subrahmanian/Avidya_lesha.pdf Quoting a part of the larger pdf linked to in this post...

Okay which one of you wise guys/gals were checking me out about 3 hrs ago?
  6. The Problem With The Forum Admin...

    What a beautiful view!!

Spiritual people shouldn't be so petulant. Spiritual practice should develop humility, not so much self-righteous anger. One's behavior shows whether one is already there, or how much farther they have to go. We don't even need to see these so-called powers. These powers are an illusion too...albeit a bit more abstract that our biochemical and physiological powers (eating, digesting food, making energy, shit and piss out of food). Calm down, take a nap or go run in the park or something.

I prefer "Hey, you smelt it -- you dealt it!"...as the saying goes...
  9. WTF are we?

    We are pure awareness.

haha Okay decided to come back here and make a few observations. I don't really care what Aletheia thinks about my weight issues. Admittedly I have it. I have gone from being less than 160 lbs in my 30s to 200+ lbs now in my 40s. I work out every day (burn ~ 1000 calories as part of my taichi, walks, biking, etc). My addiction to carbs is my achilles heel. Also genetics don't help either I'm sure...but it brings to point a few things -- The purpose of pointing out my weight was to try and make me feel bad about myself. I don't The reference to masturbation seems to reflect some sexual issues (perhaps some feelings of guilt and fear?) The knee-jerk reaction to a perceived offense seems to be symptomatic of Vata imbalance (per ayurvedic parlance). A serious vAta imbalance can make the patient prone to paranoia - leading to reactions disproportionate to the stimuli; get frequent chills even when it's hot outside; aches inside the bones; etc. I would recommend Alethiea give himself a good full-body oil massage, take a relaxing bath; eat some good, hot, comforting food and sleep well for a few days.

That is fine by me. Good luck to you...
  12. I cannot put in words my experience, but I'll try... My experience of the "structure" of existence is essentially hard to put into words either. It was like a multi-dimensional hologram, where I was both the seer, the space as well as all the things that arose in it. But it was infinitely clear that nothing has a permanence or solidity. My experience of "that" is that of empty awareness. It is the same in me, you and everything there is. All I know for sure is that being that empty awareness, I cannot really attach to positions of this or that ( oh! the irony of it...:)) As long as I stay centered in that empty awareness, things appear and disappear but it stays timeless and spaceless. Because it stays timeless and spaceless, it is eternal and immortal. Because it is empty, is not something that the mind or intellectual processes can really analyze. All these labels we ascribe to it, are merely weak approximations.
  13. It's not an intellectual thing to agree or disagree with. Why don't you read the whole thing and contemplate?

Based on the limited interaction I've had with you, you didn't even know how to manifest an energetic ball (I remember telling you how to do that a couple of months back). And now you are this awesome healer/Qigong master? Somehow, I think people will find it hard to believe - I know I do. It seems that the people here are trying to be compassionate towards you, but that doesn't seem to register...
  15. I think the thing that gets people to draw incorrect conclusions about Vedanta darshana, is that they assume it is "One". The One is the gateway to the manifest - the "I am". That which is behind the One is parABrahman. http://thenisargadattasadhana.blogspot.com/2011/08/nisargadatta-ultimatum.html

I've done that, also done healing (mainly minor injuries etc) and also remotely connected to people. But that's not the focus of my cultivation. But there's a slippery slope in that. Its easy to delude yourself into thinking your doing something when you might not be doing so. How sure are you that you have the ability to do what you say you do?

Why are biochemical processes are not part of it? The first of Sanbao is Jing. Which is a result of the food we eat.
  18. The Problem With The Forum Admin...

Check out my PPF. I've posted enough videos of what I am working on...Taijiquan. I don't claim to be better or worse than anyone else here. I am what I am...and that's what I am I transform matter everyday. I eat food. It goes into my body. It adds to my energy. I use it. What is not transformable, comes out later. What are you referring to? You make water into wine? You burn things with your energy? Can you categorize specifically all the things you have the *ability* to do?
  19. The Problem With The Forum Admin...

    Why don't you demonstrate?
  20. Beautiful

A beautiful poem I remember from my childhood, written by an indian poetess who was also a key figure in the Indian freedom struggle --
  21. There are other traditions that disagree. There are two other interpretations of the Upanishads, and the three of them have many merry discussions and debates. Since you brought up Vedanta in context of non-dualism, I inferred that you were referring to AV. Dvaita Vedanta is 100% dualistic. Vishistha Advaita is qualified Non-dualism. Neither of them will ever agree to either AV or Buddhist thoughts. So that only leaves AV to consider, if we are to do an "apples to apples" type comparison. Even in AV, there are 3 different approaches that can be taken, depending on the temperament of the seeker. @neti neti posted a nice description of that in
  22. Advaita Vedanta is actually the true essence of the Upanishads. If you read the Upanishads, it is clear and 100% congruent with AV. However, I wanted to point out a minor thing here. AV doesn't recognize the Atman and Brahman as "both not the same but not different". AV instead says, that since there cannot be two non-duals, and since Brahman is non-dual, and atman is non-dual, they are one and the same.
  23. The story/narrative after the "experience" is what causes so much mischief. If we say that Be Silent and simply be, it doesn't make much sense. And so, there is much syntactical jugglery to be done and intellectual chasms to be crossed before, commentary after commentary to be read before one finally "gets" it. And that "it" is one's own nature, it is empty, it is free and it is beyond all other conceptions and perceptions
  24. Nonduality is only a word. Yet that which is not-dual is beyond words. How then are we ascribing so many descriptions to it? i am afriad to say that the OP does not understand non-duality. When looked at merely from the intellect, all those descriptions make sense. When there is direct knowing, none of the descriptions make sense. We might make up a story afterwards, but it is not the real thing. Even your story about clear light is just a story.
